Indeed. It does seem proper.
(Nods sagely)
So... what the **** is a PnP-whatever, anyway?

I don't know.. I guess it has something to with stating the superiority of one's prefered gaming system.

Well, that's just silly.
EVERYONE knows that Warhammer's system is tops, followed closely by its futuristic variation.
...... Though those aren't technically RPG bases. Hmmm...
Oh well. Ahab probably doesn't know that, so it's all good.

I knew there was one out there, but I've never done anything more than the RPG-like adaptations of the tabletop game like Necromunda.
March '08? Yeesh. It's taken this long?
Whatever. I've only got two more months before my new Chaos Codex comes out! :D

Palladium Books trumps all!

*Stomps onto the Battlefield in a Glitterboy Powered Armor Suit AKA a Chromium Guardsman*

This is my Boom Gun!

*Vaporizes the nearby, uhh, pretty much whatever it was pointed at with the aluminum flachettes fired with Megadamage force and deafens everyone in the area with the tremendous sonic blast*

MUAHAHAHAHAHA!

But seriously, Palladium rocks. ^__^

Yuh-huh. Sure.

If that's the case, then it'll probably get pushed back again... it's just not a big priority when GW is updating all the 40K codices again. They STILL haven't done a 4th ed. update for Ork or Space Wolves (not that I care about the latter).
Unless it's not GW that's behind it...

So, tell me about the game mechanics of your preferred system BD.

If you're talking RPGs, I use AD&D because it's all I know. I'm not partial to it or anything, but the system looks solid to me, so I go with that.
Though I'm a tabletop guy. That means plastic model armies, formations of units, tactics, and lots and lots of d6's.
Right now all I'm doing is 40k. I'm planning to branch out (slightly) into Warhammer Fantasy soon. A friend of mine has so far completely failed to arouse much interest in War Machine; as of yet I dream only of taking its models and converting them into my ever-expanding Chaos Space Marine army.

Then I really don't know what to expect, though pushing a release date back to a year after it was originally scheduled does not speak well of them.

I know a couple of brothers that play Warhammer. One is rather good and won a local tournament, or so he said hehe.

If you play a pen and paper rpg, try Rifts by Palladium. My brothers played it quite a bit when they were in school. One of their characters (a kender from the Dragonlance universe) hijacked an F-14 once. He couldn't reach the flight-stick so he immediately crashed. That kind of crazy, pulled out of a hat type of stuff is what the game is all about. It's a pain to convert characters from ADnD though.

I've been called "rather good". In the last tournament I played I placed second, which can be blamed on the fact that it was a pairs tournament and I was paired with a kid who showed up too late and barely knew how to play... or that's my excuse, anyway. I don't usually play in tournaments, because it's too competetive. It's not as much fun for me if I know there's something tangible on the line.
My win/loss record is thus (discounting draws, 'cause they suck):
vs. Eldar: 7 to 1
vs. Chaos: 3 to 2
vs. Necrons: 6 to 3
vs. Imperial Guard: 3 to 1
vs. Tyranids: 12 to 3
vs. Orks: 2 to 3 (what can I say? My lists tend to be lascannon-heavy)
vs. Tau: 10 to 2
vs. Witch Hunters: 1 win, no losses
vs. Daemon Hunters: 0 (can you believe I've never fought Grey Knights?)
vs. Space Marines: Way too many games to keep track of, though I win more often than not)
