Allow me to say that I've found out that Larry Wachowski is a transsexual!

http://rated-m.blogspot.com/2007/08/lar ... plete.html is the link. The person that wrote the article isn't every TG sensitive, and if you go back to his previous post about Lana, it's even less kind (I haven't even mentioned the comments! >[ stupid close minded people).

But honestly Lana is cute XD I doubt she's finished, as the above link claims, but we'll never know. It's also cool to see actual news websites saying 'Wachowski siblings' or simply 'the Wachowskis.' And this seriously clears up a few questions about I had about the Matrix, the Wachowski's secrecy, why Andy always did the talking in the few t.v. spots I've seen them in, and why I felt there was something else I liked in general about the directors.

And the irony! I can't forget to include the reason why I LEFT THE MATRIX ONLINE! Remember this caption? It was the story behind my MxO character, and I got badgered about it so much because of the tg theme that I eventually jacked out for good. I wish I knew what those people have to say about what half of the writing genious behind the series is going through.

And lastly, I wasn't too sure where to start this, and between my two choises of the Entertainment Lounge and the Tea Room, the Entertainment Lounge seemed more fitting.

What questions did you have about the Matrix?

Know what mine has been, that I think I brought up when you made that caption? It was about the self-image. I didn't understand how people in the Matrix could see themselves with the bodies that they've never seen or felt in reality. It would have been a great opportunity for something TG.

You didn't raise this question as far as I remember. But I'd say the way the Matrix universe is set up is that body, mind and spirit are such integral parts of being a human that even if they're 'worlds' apart they know one another inside and out and still have a strong link. Take the begining of Revolutions for example, Neo was stuck inside the Matrix because he managed to use his power in the real world. His body knew this so his brainwave patterns matched common patterns of people jacked in.

I really need to see Bound and Vendetta (and Speed Racer when it comes out). It's retarted that I'm such a big fan but have only stuck to the Matrix series.

I guess I didn't. I think I had made a leading comment but it didn't draw, so I never asked.

I think that theory is way out of bounds. I mean, aside from the fact that Neo's condition is never really explained, with the exception that his brainwave patterns matched those who are connected to the Matrix, there's no real basis to support it. I'm not saying that it's not possible; I'm just saying that it's unlikely how it's supposed to work in the Matrix. If I were to make a theory... I'd say that it might have to do with using the advanced (compared to present day) technology and knowledge to "read" the DNA and prescribes that information to the brain via the environment in the Matrix. Remember that they are capable of programming such information to create whole people, and even "see" pictures through said code of information, so it's entirely possible.

Hmmmm... I derailed from the main topic. I blame the white rabbit. ;p

Well, I guess I'm happy for you. Nothing like having something in common, in some way, with something you practically worship. And that's about as good as I can say it because I haven't encountered either, personally.

Hmm....after seeing your post and becoming curious, I've read that the change concerning Larry's gender might not exactly be true.

From what I've read, things might be better explained...here, and Here, an in-depth story involving Larry and a dominatrix to whom he apparently fell in mutual love and dressing like a female... and here, Fox News

Of course....this could just be spin control for Speed Racer, as Larry/Lana him/herself still hasn't commented....so in essence, I suppose none of us mere mortals truly know, to be honest. ^_^

I've been aware of the dominatrix that was in Lana's life for a couple years now =p

Honestly I do feel that the press is covering something because Speed Racer is suppose to be a 'family movie' and what better thing to tear families appart then transgendered issues. I'm honestly hoping that after the film is released on dvd some more information will be shared (I know that's probly two years away, but it's better then nothing).

You can't say there's nothing at all going on with Larry, and possibly if steps to a full transformation aren't taken then that might be seen as more 'unacceptable' by the general public, cause it's 'weird' enough simply jumping from one gender to the other, but to stop somewhere inbetween... That's more then most care to take into considderation.

I didn't know if you knew, Stellar, but I came across this and figured I'd show you just in case.

Wikipedia wrote:The character Switch from The Matrix is described as an androgyne in the screenplay, and it is rumored that she was originally a man while still trapped in the Matrix and switched genders after being freed and finding out her true gender.

Quote found here.

I figure that, being an addict and all (;p), you'd be a good person to confirm that it's even a rumor. Otherwise I find it interesting because, well, it'd match the way that I see the Matrix as working. I think you might remember a conversation or two where I shared those ideas. :P
