Unico

It's strange how these sorts of things come up. My mother and I got into a discussion of sorts about the great flood, because I had wanted to see if I had seen what was playing on the discovery channel. She remembered a story about a unicorn that had been forgotten and thus hadn't gotten onto Noah's ark, then in turn she recalled this anime, Unico, that she said I had watched a lot when I was between the ages of two and three.

It's kind of amazing the things that one can remember. I thought that I wouldn't recall anything, but a good bit of it began to come back to me as little things jogged my memory. I'm still in the process of watching the Fantastic Adventures of Unico, but I thought I could share in the meantime.

Enjoy. I'm a sucker for cute stuff. And unicorns. XD

UNICOOOOOO~!

I saw a Unico movie when I was like 7 or 8, and then didn't see it again for years, but it always stuck with me. Now I own it, though it's a used tape... I hope it'll hold out. @_@ And now my sister's children watch it. :3

Also, speaking of unicorns, there's the Last Unicorn which is quite a nice movie, and an even more SUPER FREAKIN' AWESOME I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH book by Peter S. Beagle. ^^

Ahh its been at least nearly 20 years since I watched that movie. Last time I watched it I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 and I had been trying to find what the name of it was. Thanks for pointing it out to me so now, maybe, I can get back to watching it again.

The Last Unicorn is indeed a good movie. (Have it both on offical tape and DVD) I've read the book. Use to own it, but sadly it got lost in my move across the country. One day I'll have another copy.

Some other good Unicorn based media that I'd suggest looking into are:

Into the Land of the Unicorns and Song of the Wanderer both by Bruce Coville.

The Birth of the Firebringer series by Meredith Ann Pierce.

Both are absolutly AMAZING reads in my opinion.

Ooh! You just reminded me, Cookie-sama. I read Into the Land of the Unicorns when I was younger. I should re-read it, it's been a long time... but right now it's packed in a box. @_@

Well Musa, if you liked Into the Land of the Unicorns (and just to let you know. My orginal copy got lost. I had to re-buy it and it's the re-print. If you have the orginal print that has the cover with the picture of you looking out of a cave at the unicorn, then I HATE YOU. >_< I want a copy of THAT print so badly!)

Song of the Wanderer is the sequal to Into the Land of the Uncorns. Two more books are due to come out, and if we're lucky we just might see book three fairly soon.

P-please don't hate me... I bought it back in elementary school, from that Scholastic book order thing... XD;; *Hides*

But yeah, I'll keep that sequel in mind. :D I could re-read the old one, and then nab that one afterwards.

Speaking of sequels, there's one for the Last Unicorn. Sort of... it's more like a "bridge" to the upcoming sequel. It's called "Two Hearts" and can be found in a book of Peter S. Beagle's short stories called "The Line Between." Very good stuff in there. :3

Heh, I don't REALLY hate you Musa. How could I ever?

I know of Two Hearts. I actually ordered the CD to get a signed copy, but due to Colin Press having nothing but problems, have yet to recive my copy. >_>
