Hello everyone! As most of you surely know, Super Smash Bros Brawl has come out a short time ago, and i mut say, I LOVE the game! It does everything so much better than Melee, and is a wildly enjoying experience... (Not to mention so many new characters.)

Basically, this thread is for people to talk about it. Characters they like, special strategies, help, other features, discussions, the like. So, let's get this party started!

After watching kids play the game almost nonstop for 30 to 40 hours the weekend after it was released, I was so totally sick of the game, and I hadn't even played it once. XD

Anyways, I won't have the chance to play brawl for some time, which is fine, since I have school work to focus on and no Wii or TV to play it on.

I'm sure I'll be trying out Ike since I had loads of fun as Roy in Melee, and maybe some other characters- dunno, I'll need to experiment with a lot of them.

Well, I've had Brawl since midnight launch and I must say that even though I could more than hold my own as Roy in Melee, Ike is my worst character. The theory that Ike replaced Roy is as much bull as the theory that Lucario replaced Mewtwo. That being said... I can hold my own as every character in Brawl, which is something that I could never do in Melee.

I have one major complaint about Brawl. That complaint is that the Stage Creator could have been greatly expanded on. I was able to make a couple of great stages, but there were too few parts and too many restrictions to truly make a good stage.

Subspace Emissary is a great mode that gives you a feel for playing most of the characters, and at higher difficulties is a great way to unlock music.

My only real disapointment is the new stages. Some are really good (the new metriod one is nifty, as well as lugis mansion) but some of them (The Old Skool Mario Bros, the new Super Mario Bros one) are either too restrictive in movement, or too busy with things happening (The Donkey Kong level with 8 bit backgrounds). Some are just BORING too (Metal Gear Solid) but thankfully they're able to be not played on.

The smash ball, in my opinion, shows up a bit TOO much.

But I do enjoy the game. Play it online a bit too. So, yeah, I'm happy with that.

Yeah, I share similar disappointments with you there. (to Duck) Some of the new stages are rather disappointing (Although I like most of them.) The smash ball does appear a lot, it's a shame you can't separately adjust the appearance rate of items, for example making smash ball low-med and other stuff med-high.

Stage creator was a grand disappointment, as I never really found myself able to make something truly great. I unlocked additional parts, and looked excitedly for them to find that all of..... 2 parts had been unlocked.

I found it strange as well that I could hold my own with all characters (Although some worse than others, obviously.) Although that probably goes to the point that my play style best fits fast characters.

You know, if it weren't for the fact that my Wii console suffered disc errors due to some problem with my console's reading lasers or some other stuff that has made me ship my console to Nintendo for repair, I might be playing this game by now.

But aside from that minor inconvenience (hee), the game was still fun while I was playing it. The online play's filled with a lot of bizarre players, though. Lots of people who either use a move constantly, or just run around and taunt. Truly bizarre.

It's not all that bizarre. Taunt spamming is one of my friend's favorite pastimes. But really... Wi-Fi's lag makes it impossible for some people to fight normally, so that's really why that stuff happens.

My Wii has read errors every now and then... but I fix it the NES way. By blowing into the system.

Yeah, Nintendo really has a ways to go for Internet, compared with the other two companies.... But I don't see why people have to spam moves... It gets annoying after a while, that's all I'll say. Again, all these complaints aside, it's a great game.

I'd have to say my only REAL complaint, (aside from unimaginative stages and a crummy level maker) Is that my foot is sore from kicking in Duck's face to much.

Same here, only not Duck in particular... Just other poor saps. :P I play at the library with other people, and they tell me I'm one of the best players there. (Not to mention a possible shoe in for the upcoming tourny.)

I got it as well, but no Internet. And I still don't know my number-thingy, anyway. XD Aside from that I'm having trouble with the controls, since I do better with fighting games using a D-pad for movement rather than the analog/toggle-thingy. The only D-pad option I have is by using the wiimote sideways, but that pretty much limits me to three buttons since it's completely impractical to use the B button in that position. So taunts and blocking are out. The Gamecube remote might work, but I haven't try it yet. I honestly don't know how anyone with hands the size of mine can use the analog on those classic remote controls.

I mean, like, argh. So I'm juggling between Wild Arms 5, FE: Radiant Dawn, and Mana Khemia. Tried and true, they are.

they tell you your number the first time you log online for that game.

been using the GC controller for it, honestly the other controllers aren't suited for it.
