Iron Man

See this movie.

There's no other words to be said. This movie is the best comic movie you'll see.

For those of you that fear they won't get Stark right (tone down on his alchollism, and chauvanism) Downy IS Stark. Every little thing he does is esentric, and just screams Tony Stark. From giving a cooler full of booze to the military if they buys a large missle set, to getting a date with someone who hates him quickly.

But the best, is after the credits.

Seriously, catch the flick. it's awesome.

Saw it last night and it was awsome!!! I love Jarvis, his home computer system, and the holographic computer system for when he's building the suit. My god, the story was played out perfectly, and you know there's going to be a sequel involving S.H.I.E.L.D. and his air force buddy as War Machine.

Note for those who don't know: Jarvis, in the comic books, is an actual butler, not a computer system. But it's not like it matters in the movie.

Answer: Very carefully.

Anyways, this movie was great. I, as an engineer, of course loved the building and testing of the suit.

Didn't feel like making a new topic, so sue me.

Got around to seeing it, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It might have been better if it hadn't ended with the intimation of a sequel, so my full opinion will have to wait until I see Iron Man 2. Assuming that there will be an Iron Man 2.

To their credit, at least if they go and do a sequel, it'll be 'all according to plan' rather than 'hey we made a bunch of money, let's do it again'

Unless they already expected it to do moderately well, at the very least. Well enough for a sequel, anyway.

Other than that, it better not be like Kill Bill 2, where they pull out all the stops in the first part and bore you to death with the second. They could be "ooh"ing and "awe"ing us now to draw a large enough audience for a sequel they know won't top the first.

Well, for Kill Bill, it was supposed to be one movie originally, which ended up being too long for a movie... Iron Man was definitely a complete movie.

Rather, what I'm hinting at is that it'll be more like Batman Begins and the Dark Knight, rather than say, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2 where it was only because of the success of the first that they used to make a second movie which was really just a lead into a third movie, rather than another, separate movie.

if that makes any sense, anyways.

I just hope any sequels won't be 'made in a barrel' like the second and third movies for both pirates and the matrix.

I thought the Pirates trilogy was planned, or at least there had been contingency material in the event that the first movie did well. I figure as much due to some of the plot devices (such as Jack's "broken" compass, for instance), and the use of the subtitle. At the very least it was premeditated.

But at least Pirates continued to do well as the series continued. In my opinion, I can't say the same for the Matrix and Spiderman. And I'll hold my opinion for Batman until I see the latest one, even though I didn't like the first one of the new series. (What can I say... The only Batman movie I honestly like is the first one, with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson.) Oh, and you forgot to mention Transformers 2. ;p

(Oh, and Pirates 3 ended in such a way as to lead into a Pirates 4. And, as you might have heard, a Pirates 4 is in the works. If it's about what was implied at the end of the third, then you don't have to worry about this "made in a barrel" stuff.)

Yeah, I can see a Pirates 4 being made, it's just 2 and 3 were basically made together for a particular arc- it's the reason why they were released so close together, kinda like the last two matrix movies. Otherwise, we would've had to wait a couple of more years for the third movies for both of them. 4 would be starting something totally different that hopefully will be a stand alone movie, kinda like the original Pirates movie. I mean, sure there were a bunch of things that were never explain originally in the first, but it was fine as a movie story-wise because it concluded the major issues presented, something the 2nd movie didn't do and had to rely on the 3rd to wrap up the loose ends. Otherwise, you'd just have a big old cliffhanger, and everyone asking 'what happened?'

Or something like that.

But anyways, back to Iron Man, I really can't wait to get the DVD for it as I really enjoyed it, and the possible synergy between Iron Man and other Marvel comic series is a nice prospect that I hope is used effectively in either an Iron Man sequel or an Avengers movie. High hopes, I know, but if it were done right, it would be a great movie.

But that's just my opinion on the matter.

Marvel is doin Iron Man 2, and linking it to like most of the upcoming pictures. Hulk's linked to Iron Man, which will be linked to Iron Man 2, and most likely Thor. Then also linked to The First Avenger (Cap) which will tie into an Avengers flick. Which makes my fanboyness go "GLEEEEEEEEEE"
