Challenging games

I'm bored, so I thought I'd make a topic that mentions and/or discusses games we've played and deem to be difficult.

One game that I thought was difficult was Lagoon, an action/adventure game for the SNES. Aside from magic, the only weapon you get is a sword that is quite literally as small as a toothpick. You have to get very close and personal with enemies to defeat them and, if I remember correctly, you can't use magic against the bosses, which leaves you with said toothpick, so... Yeah.

I managed to get to the final boss, but I could never defeat him. ;/ I may be able to finish the game now, now that I'm older and wiser and all that, but I really don't want to put that kind of effort into it. <_<;

Well, all the old Mega man games always struck me as rather hard--Oh! and Shadow of the Collosus can be tough sometimes--all you have is a sword, and a bow and arrows, and the character or isn't inhumanly strong or anything for once either--the entire game is finding these gigantic creatures, and then doing your best to climb up onto them, and stab at their weak spots...

While riding on the bravest horse the world has ever seen. :lol:

Actually, I found Mario 64 to be difficult at spots, like the final boss battle. But I haven't played it in... forever, so that might change. I can usually beat a level the second time around.

Another game that I found difficult was Faery Tale Adventure. For one, I never really understood it at the age when I played it. For another, battling was beyond me, for there didn't seem to be a good strategy that prevented death if you had to fight off a group of enemies.

An example, though you can just read the info on the right to get the drift.

But, somehow, I did manage to beat the game, back then. I can't remember how; I just remember the final battle. ;/

Yeah~! Runs away if you aim the bow at it though...~~

*Whistles innocently.*

It doesn't out tooo bad, but depending on where you go with it, (there's a few important places that you can deviate), Doukutsu Monogatari (Cave Story) can get preeetty tough. ^^ It's a reallyreally good game though--and available for free, legal, translated download, if you haven't played it before, an' wanna take a look~! <3

I have Titan Quest, and you can play either online or a single player without online.

It takes place in Ancient Greece, and you get to head to Sparta, Athens, and Crete to battle the Minotaur in Daedoleas's Labrinth (Icarus's dad was a famous inventor), and then egypt, and Asia. I haven't got as far as the minotaur maze, so defeating him will allow me to come back to Athens a hero!
