Yo'. I've got some time on my hands, and I find myself without anythin' good to watch. Anyone got any suggestions for good, new anime? I prefer comedies, and lighter-hearted action and the newer the better.

Galaxy Angel should fit that description. It's my favorite anime, so, as expected, I recommend it. ;p Though it may not be for you if you don't like variety and a distinct lack of continuity. (And each season of the series is reasonably priced, last time I looked.)

Seen most of the series, and it was awesome, until the new series where they started with all knew characters. It just wasn't worth it anymore without Vanilla :(

I didn't care much for Rune, either.

Hmmmm... Oh, I know. How about Gokudo? Definitely a comedy, has plenty of non-serious action, and even has some sex-changing stuff for the kiddies. :P

Comides eh?

I suggest: Seto no Hanayome, Nagasarete Airantou

Rosario + Vampire is also worth some laughs. Lot's of fan service though. (Not that I mind. :P)

Also the Tower of Druaga animes are just plain awsome. Lots of laughs, and great story. Well worth checking out.

EDIT: Almost forgot. There is a rather unknown anime called "Final Approach" that's really good.

Druaga series was a surprising good one of the recent shows.

Birdy has some comedy but is good action series.

Hayate the combat butler! awesome anime i've heard another season is in the works but nothing recently though since the manga is on going i wouldn't be surprised.

Soul eater is good though they changed the last 8 or so eps cause the anime is ending and it caught up with the manga (manga is on-going still) so they went to random filler end.

To Aru no Majutsu no Index. It's an action series, with plenty of comedy thrown in. The storyline is quick-paced and varied enough to keep you glued to the screen every single episode.

While that is an awsome anime. (I even own all of it) I'm not sure it fits in what he's looking for.

What about the OVA that came out recently?

Kuroshitsuji- Comedy and action.

Munto- Not so much comedy but nicely done drama/action.

Excell Saga - Pretty much spoofs anime/manga stuff with pop culture references (one episode has Excell's Boss playing a PSP style video game with a final fantasy style choose your own adventure style, like it starts off with your characters "sister" waking you up and telling you you are going to make her and you both late for school, then you are at school and you meet some female classmate, and then the "sister" wants you to walk her home after school. The "sister" suspiously looks like Excell.

Naruto Shippuoden

Kuroshitsuji is NOT comedy...unless you laugh at the sight of blood, or references to death >_>
----

BACK ON TOPIC:

hmmm...I know mostly Rom-Coms. sorry.

ToraDora is a good Rom-Com....and one of my favorites
I don't do alot of action...but you could try:

Hangane no Rekinjutsushi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.)
Bus Gamers
Birdy the Mighty (Suggested before)
Fate/Stay Night (King aurthur as a Woman XD)

Hmmmm....Havn't actually watched that much anime recently, however I did watch something that may fit your bill.

To Love Ru - silly, random and as long as you don't mind the fanservice, then yeah. There is even a TG OVA thrown in the mix as well

Well, I don't know if this topic is still relevant to the creator's interests, but I figure it won't hurt to suggest something I found since the last time I made a suggestion: Shugo Chara. It pretty much fits the bill.
