From what I hear of exalted, the power level is too high for me.

I like playing a level one commoner who rolls a natural one while beheading a chicken, cuts his thumb off, fails a couple fort saves and dies from the infection.

...why are you playing D&D then? WFRPG is what you want!

Well, I play d&d so I can water that cute little commoner1 and give him lots of sunshine and have him grow up to be a Wizard5/Incantatrix4/InitiateOfTheSevenfoldVeil7/Archmage4 and save the multiverse.

Provided he doesn't get critical hit'd by a kobold at level one, of course.

Or eaten by a gelatinous cube.

Or polymorph any object'd into another wizards familiar.

That's nothing! I can start with a dirty filthy ratcatcher who by luck and and more luck and maybe some skill survives an encounter with the Hosts of Chaos! or Skaven.. and finally becomes a MERCHANT

Well my wizard gets to be a 60 year old man who could keel over from old age at any time, wearing only a loincloth while he chants spells in pig latin and waves a wood stick inscribed with runes which may or may not be vulgar jokes over his head.

Well my Merchant gets to lose all his money and Die on the streets a beggar.. from Syphalis.

Well my wizard gets to do massive amount of damage via fireballs etcetera and make the rest of the party feel useless...

... and then take vow of non violence at level 6 and try to convince them all to see the light and shun their murderous ways.

Somehow, I get the feeling we're not talking about 4E anymore...

In 4E my wizard is a glorified valet.

"Please move 7 squares to your left, Mr Ogre. Yes, away from me and over there where you will be flanked by my allies."

In 3.5E my wizard is an over deity who just hasn't been given divine ranks yet. He has accomplished feats such as slaying the Tarrasque by himself in hand-to-hand combat.

Never played WFRPG, although I did like playing warhammer. I loved my pesky little wood elves.

Even if I already have a physical copy, no sense in not taking advantage of getting something for free. ^_^

This is fantastically amazing. I have long wanted to pick up Exalted, but every time I can find it, I can't afford it, and every time I can afford it, I can't find it. But yay free download! Perhaps I shall use my free printing powers, granted by being a computer lab aide, to print the whole thing out! Or at least the part with all the mechanics. That is the one that tends to get checked the most during gameplay.
