Scott Pilgrim is a series of indie comics set in Toronto if it were in a video game about a slacker named Scott who meets American ninja delivery girl Ramona. In order to date her, he has to defeat her seven evil ex-boyfriends.

Oh, and did I mention it's being made into a movie that is being directed by Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz?

Because it totally is.

I'll certainly be trying to go see it. I've thought the comic sounded pretty cool for a while now, and I'm a big Edgar Wright fan.

I saw the preview for this movie while I was waiting for the A-team movie to play. It looks interesting, and I think I saw the books at my local book store.

^^ It looks interesting, though I don't care for the main guy's voice. I don't think it fits Scott Pilgrim, quite. ^^^ Could be fun though.

Also, they have an avatar creator made 'cause of the movie, for people that like the art style. ^^

Also also...Scott Pilgrim's World of Pain~~~

Romona actually dated a girl as well as six other guys? She explains she was "bi-curious" and the jilted blonde girl says shes "Bi-Furious!" I would love to go see this movie....Scott really likes Romona...I wonder what Romona saw in those seven-exes to begin with.

You mean the 6 male exes. We know what she saw in the female one.

I don't watch many movies and I buy even less than most. But this is one I might go see. I will probably buy this movie if it is good. But it does look good with plenty of comic book and videogame humor.

Update:

It's absolutely amazing. It takes so many risks with my childhood, but it does it boldly and confidently, and is totally masterfully executed! This movie does what so many other movies wish they could do. It goes all out with it's style, and doesn't make it a real big deal or anything, and it feels comfortable and hilarious!

Anyway, I can't stress enough that anyone who grew up with games or anime should see this movie posthaste, and preferably in theater, because it really is worth it for the experience.

My friend and I went to go see it about a week ago. We loved it!

To find out more, we actually made a blog about it. Which you can view here:

Has anyone read Lost at Sea, the graphic novel he did before Scott Pilgrim? I had sone money from my birthday so just ordered it, as it sounds pretty cool. It's described as a coming of age story about a shy teenager who believes her soulwas stolen by a cat and finds herself on a road from California to Vancouver with some kids from school she barely knows.
