Krakow, the webcomic artist for Charlie Horse and The Demon Sisters (Kia, Lucretia, and Guinness), has a brand new webcomic, called Spinnerette.
They are up to issue 4 now, and the main character, Heather Brown, is a graduate college student studying science. She nearly gets bitten by a spider, but gains 4 extra arms and spider strength, super fast healing, web shooting (out of her backside) in a freak accident involving spider dna and a recombination machine in the lab. Like Spider-Man, she must balance her super heroing duties as Spinnerette and her roomate Sariah helps her design her costume and a fat suit to hide her extra arms, which is a couple of Venom suits sewn together. She meets Mecha Maid and Tiger, two local heroes who help her with combat and detective work. A Canadian team of Green Gable (descendant of Anne of Green Gables), Kat O' Nine Tails (Kat is a French-Canadian superheroine with cat-like abilities), and Werewolf of London, Ontario (known to his team as London). Later, Heather gets a new suit made from her own silk due to her old costume being similar to Spider-Woman's (from Marvel).
It is discovered that Mecha Maid's civilian form is a research assistant that works in Heather's lab area. She has ALS, and uses the Mecha Maid suit and headband as a neuro-stimulant while she flies around and fights crime. Black Tiger is a big man who just wants to be called Tiger. Heather met them when they were investigating the damaged lab after her accident.
The main villains were Dr. Universe, Greta Gravity (German woman in Leederhosen with powers to manipulate Gravity), and the drider-like former Evil Spinnerette.
