LoZ: Skyward Sword to have Item Upgrade system

Sounds overly complicated and unnecessary. Unless it's required to upgrade for the storyline, but then it's just a gimmic.
Sorry but IMO the only reason to have optional upgrades would be if you have total freedom, and Zelda isn't known for that.
