The year is 2030 but in a world that was never ourown. It is the future of a world where mesoamericans worshiped Grey beings from beyond the stars as gods and the three great kings of China were survivors of the extinction of the Dinosaurs. A world where aliens walked among us secretly for thousands of years. Where conspiracies ruled the earth in secret for most of history. Where Atlantis, Mu and Lemuria were real. It was a world of secrets.

And that world ended with the information Age. Methods that had worked for centuries no longer applied when anyone could take a picture. The Greys and Reptoids were revealed to the public, Illuminated conspiracies came to the light of day, combined with the already heightened tension from a "war on Terror" the third world war happened. And while in this world the Nazis had zombies and secret werewolf programs flying saucers and shapechanging assassins were the method of the day. It was not the nuclear holocaust that people predicted... though the middle east has become a corpse ridden land of radioactive Glass. But luck or perhaps Fate was with the earth at this time. The Conspiracies reorganized themselves as the Megacorps draining power from their puppet governments until at last there was a peace of sorts.

It has been 15 years of rebuilding since the third world war. The world is different the future we were promised has in some ways come. Aliens live with humans. Flying cars are cheap and readily available.. fossil fuels are a thing of the past. Computers are small and personal. The Average person might have heard of biomodded human, and there are quite afew biomoded celebrities. And cybernetically enhanced soliders, most people are more or less the same.. asside from the occasional alien.

Of course the Megacorps learned from the mistakes of their predecesors rather than trying to hide everything, they have learned to feed the world too much information. Who is going to care about missing people.. if there are catgirl idol singers. They have their secrecy back and use it well.

Kalisti is one such Corporation. What makes it odd is it is the only Megacorp to form since the third war. Sure there have been other businesses that grow, but nothing to its size or power. its known for its research and unusal breakthroughs.

Where characters fit in Kalisti has opened its doors to a variety of treatments, Weightloss, intelligence boosting a variety of fairly mundane setups Looking for volunteers to test.. more sinister treatments it has in store. The corporation also has no compunction against grabbing people from other setups.. or highering contractors to "Break into" theirown stuff. All good test materials. So I guess onto the sheets.

They have integrated much better in modern times and one can find Altean towns in most major cities.) First Born(Velociraptors perhaps far more cunning than modern man they developed stasis chambers to survive a war with a hostile alien power. Their devices were abit off in waking them up.. well those around currently. They are far fewer in number than Alteans and quite arrogant. Their biotech devices are the basis for most biomods currently available)

Would it be possible to rp as an ex-detective who used to be involved with a rather high profile unit dealing with more 'unusual' crimes; but, resigned after a routine investigation ended up coming a little too close to something it shouldn't have and didn't exactly lead to a fairtail ending?

Think cyberware but done biologically.. a more effciently built heart that might increase stamina, more effcient bones or muscles or eyes... its organic but its been built..

Or more full on things like modding a child with cat features so they grow up to be a catgirl entertainer..

Name: Dirk Erikson
Race: Human, no mods at all.
Physical appearance: Dirk is, in his own words, 'an old fart' of 47. He kept in good shape when he was younger; but, stress, poor eating habits, too many pills and too much alcohol have started to take their toll on the man. Dirk remains clean shaven; partially to help make the fact that his hair has started to gray a bit less obvious The fact that he's started to go bald. His tall muscular builds started to go to waste, what with the beginnings of a pot belly developing, his eyesights started to fade as well, requiring the stubborn, and chronically broke, private eye to get a pair of glasses.

As for clothing, Dirk, ever the anachronism, tends to wear an old fashioned suit, with a fedora (to hide his ever more obvious baldness.)

Personality: To sum Dirk up in a few words; World-weary and jaded. In his younger days he was an idealistic do gooder, the kind of guy who'd run into a burning building to save someone's cats. Thousands of nights alone, thousands of nights in the hospital, ever-increasing bills, and not enough success to fill his hat have left Dirk with but the last sputtering sparks of his youthful valor.

He's not a bad guy. In fact, he's still basically just a good person, just not the kind of guy one would expect anything brave or heroic about.

Occupation: Private Investigator; which means he spends a lot of his time following married women around to find out who their sleeping with.

Etc: Dirk used to be one of the elites. After graduating top of his class from the police academy, he managed to become a detective in record time. He even got assigned to a rather high profile squad dealing with some of the darkest and most dangerous crimes. This proved too much for Dirk. Stuff happened that still keeps him awake at night and he resigned from the force to go into business for himself. That, hasn't worked out that well for him.

Race:First Born
Personality: Erudite for the most part. The relatively young First Born is very confident in his knowledge of general facts as well as computers. He does however suffer from a slightly overly developed blood lust so whenever a hunt, whether for a hacker on the net or a target fleeing, is possibly at hand he get a bit exited. May speak in a slightly more reptilian way whenever in that state.
Physical appearance: Most of his skin is a bit in the reddish hue with yellow slitted eyes. Some spine like things on his head, hair if you will, seem to be bent back much like a slicked back hair do on a human would be. His claws are mostly kept short except for one on each foot just in case he needs them.
Occupation: Data Entry personnel. He spends most of the day entering information into a computer at work. At home he tends to enjoy either messing around on the net or outside in a small area his family keeps for hunting. Cyber enhanced vision allows better than average sight and bio enhanced sense of smell allows for a more accurate sampling of the air to determine where things are.
Etc: He has a learned mind but a very short attention span. Years of twitch online gaming and hunting when not in public eyes have left him a bit wired to react to things. His love of coffee probably doesn't help.
