OOC: Hey guys, between block, busyness and tiredness I haven't been able to post for a while...but here goes.

The five minutes did not take long to pass as the helicopter descended on the house. Truth be told it did not have anywhere near as much noise or wind that most people would have associated with a helicopter, but true enough, a helicopter it was. Casey looked in awe at the advanced machine, far beyond anything he had looked upon, Absol took a quick glance at the vehicle as she boarded while Tina didn't even give it that, simply getting on in that downcast way she always did nowadays.
Suddenly a jab in the back knocked Casey out of his fascination, looking behind him he saw Spi with an impatient look in her eyes.

"Are you going to get on or what?" she said walking past him and getting on.

Looking up Casey saw Paul, Spi and Absol looking at him as he stood there like an idiot and another, fishlike face poke it's head round the corner from inside.

"What the?" said Casey, "When did she get in there again?"

Sure enough, somehow Serene was back on board, but this time under close watch by a ranger who guarded the food they had on board.
Shaking his head, Casey walked forward and got on the vehicle, the doors sliding shut behind him.

"Everyone is on" said Paul, "Let's go."

The helicopter shook a bit as it left the ground but stabilised quickly as a number of rangers began to perform a checklist.

"Engines: Working at 98% efficiency"

"Weather compensation: 5 degrees"

"Cloaking up, outside visibility is lowered to 15%"

"Teleblock up, vehicle is secure from outside infiltration"

"Teapot: mashing"

"No sugars for me"

"One for me"

"Two for me"

and so on. It was odd really how casual these people were being even though they were going undetected over inhabited areas in a machine that was far beyond the technology available to even the military, as far as most people knew. Then again, Casey assumed they did this for a living, but it was still rather an odd situation to think of.....

Elsewhere, in an undisclosed location.

"Status report on the conditions of projects XD-002 and 003." said a young man in what resembled a military uniform, "002 is now roughly half way through the adolescent stage with an estimated 4 months until it matures, 003 has now entered the juvenile stage and is developed enough for combat with an estimated 9 months until maturity. Power and mindset developments are higher than expected and upon maturity should exceed all our predictions of fire-power. Also, the coffee machine in the hall has now been fixed."

"Very good" said the man behind the desk who the other man was speaking to. He also wore a similar uniform but is was very obvious that he was of much higher rank. "Report back to me if there are any changes." the younger man saluted as the older man reached into one of his draws. "Also, put me in an order for a strong black, I'll collect it in a minute but I'd rather not delay myself as much as possible." he tossed over a 50p coin which the younger man caught

"Yes, Sir" said the younger man, turning around and leaving.

"Soon" said the remaining man, "Soon I will have everything I need to wipe out those hybrid abominations once and for all. This country will be saved, this and all others build by the hand of man."

The Ranger aircraft moved quietly through the skies towards their no-so-hidden base. Inside however, a change of plans was shown to be in order.

"Sir" called one of the operators, "We have just received a transmission from HQ. We will currently be unable to land there due to a roadworks diversion leading increased traffic past our building. It has been rearranged so that we will land at the hospital in Jubilife. We shall be met by a few representatives who will make sure the building is secure before we land."

"Understood" said Paul, he turned to the others, "Ok, look like we won't be going to the lab after all. Instead we shall be going to one of the hospitals we have some influence in and we will able to take some samples using the equipment there."

Casey just nodded while the rest stayed quiet (other than Serene who was eyeing the food guard in contempt). They had nothing really to say.

In a hospital...by co-incidence the same hospital as the aircraft was heading to.

"Ok, Amber" said a nurse pushing a girl in a wheelchair, "It's time to move you to the new clinic. Hopefully they will be able to help your treatment there."

"Thank you" said the girl, Amber with a smile, "But it's fine. You don't need to trouble yourself with me, I don't mind what happens."

"Now we'll have none of that talk" said the nurse, "You are going to get better, I will see to it personally."

"Thank you" Amber said again, still with the same smile

"now, your new hospital is in Hearthome City" said the nurse, "There are lots of people there and there are more shops than you could ever go to. You'll love it so much when you get there....."

The conversation faded as the nurse walked away, meanwhile, two women in casual-wear walked down the corridor.

"What do you think?" asked one of them

"Looks fine" said the other, "Send confirmation."

"Ok" said the first one, "Say, Kate, you reckon this kid is the real thing?"

"No idea, Chloe" said Kate, "But we have to take the chance that he is. If this pans out then we may be able to ensure the survival of mankind."

"Yeah" said Chloe, "But I don't know, something is giving me a bad feeling."

"You sure its not whatever that thing you had for lunch was?" asked Kate

"I hope so" said Chloe....but did she hope so? Food poisoning is nothing the be glad about...

OOC: Well, I was going to post here some idea that I had to fix this latest in the long line of arguments, but I'm starting to not see the point.

I don't seem to have control over my own RP. At this point, an argument arises every few weeks, I spend a few days trying to work it out, while receiving alot of crap for trying to fix it. Then, when it finally is resolved, another argument arises.

This is supposed to be a fun activity, people. However, all the arguments are killing that. I used to anticipate what everyone's posts would hold, now I just fear that I'm going to have to solve yet another problem that should not actually be a problem.

Normally, I could ignore this and move on. "Oh, it will get better." I'd tell myself. "We're all adults here, we can work out our problems." I'd say.

But now, I have people who don't want to have their stories compromised, and they shouldn't have to have them compromised. It's not fair to constantly pick on one player. I've also got people who threaten to walk out of the RP, and because of their place in it, effectively end the RP. That's really not fair to anyone.

So, with much hesitation, I'm pausing this RP until I feel that I can handle it...maybe it was foolish to think that I could. Especially after the fiasco that the first one turned into...

I just can't deal with the constant arguing. It's killing my urge to continue this thing.

How long will it be paused? Who knows. I could suddenly come up with something to fix this whole mess tommorow, or it could take alot longer. I can't really say.

Anyway, hopefully it won't be too long. I honestly wish I didn't have to do this at all. Because when the arguments weren't arising every other say, the RP actually was quite fun...

The aircraft landed unnoticed just outside the city, a good half-hour after it had set off. As it touched down and the passengers got out, a car drove up and opened up to reveal a young oddish-hybrid woman (the hair was a give-away, as was the dark blue skin) in casual wear but with the Ranger logo on a necklace she wore. As he got out, Paul approached the car and spoke with the driver for a short while before turning back to the group.

"Ok, we will be driving to the hospital from here" he said, "The helicopter will taking off again and will be keeping an eye on us while cloaked. With the recent increase in hybrid in-fighting as well as other forces, we can't be too careful."

The group piled in and the car set off through the city towards the hospital.

"Sir!" yelled a man, bursting into a well-lit office. Behind the desk in the centre of the room, the man in military uniform from before looked up from his work.

"You'd better have a good reason for bursting in here while I'm busy." he growled

"Sir" the man saluted, "We have confirmation of Grey Ranger activities in Jubilife. They appear to be escorting two hybrid women, one human boy and one unidentified girl. Due to other Ranger activities in the city we can assume they are going to the hospital there. Current Ranger presence in the city includes at least two founding members."

"The hospital....." said the officer, "It's almost as if god himself in smiling on me."

"Sir?" asked the man, "What are your orders, sir?"

"Take them out." said the officer, "Wait until they are all inside then storm the place. Traitors such as these shall be shown no more mercy than the hybrid invaders we are sworn to fight. If possible take prisoners, especially those founders."

"Yes, sir!" the man saluted

"Move out!" said the officer, and with that, the soldier left.

"Thank god you had just left that place...." said the officer, "Amber...."

It was another 20 minutes before the car arrived at the hospital. Unlike many other hospitals, it did not show the same signs of overcrowing and underfunding that seemed all to common. Due to how Paul had mentioned a Ranger connection to the place, he assumed the facility was under their sponsorship.

Eventually the group was led to a rather deserted wing where they were met by a pair of women also bearing the Ranger insignia. When they saw each other, the women, Absol and Tina seemed rather surprised but before Casey had time to enquire further he was shown into another room.

"It would be best to give them some time alone" said Paul quietly, "They may well have a bit of catching up to do."

The inside of the room had a variety of medical equipment and computers which were being checked over by a couple of doctors, once again, bearing the Ranger's logo.

"This is him" said Paul, "His name is Casey"

"Very well" said one of the doctors, "Ok then, Casey, we are going to do a few tests. What would you like us to do?"

"Anything you can" said Paul, "The more you can collect, the better."

"Alright then" said the other doctor, "Let's get started."

Urg...how to start this post? Firstly, I want to say that I hate to give up on things, and also comment on the fact that it's amazing that, despite all the arguing, this RP made it to over 130 pages. However, the arguing has me incredibly burnt out on this RP. That, combined with real life stuff, has left my motivation to continue on only to be met with more arguing at zero.

Mayve I have a poor GM style? I tried to treat everyone equally, and accepted everyone's ideas, within reason. I wanted this RP to be fun, but all the arguing made it, for me at least, too tense to really enjoy.

So, having said all that, I believe the best thing to do is to close this current incarnation of the RP, take some time away from it, and try again some time down the road. I really hate to do that, considering how much I had thought of to do, but I feel that all the arguing has left this pretty much unsavable...

That doesn't mean I'm giving up on this RP though, I still have plans. I just feel it would be better to let this one, along with all the tension involved go, and start fresh again later. I think it may have been smart to do that after the first RP, but hindsight is always 20/20.

So, for now I think I may go with some other ideas I have, and revisit this in maybe a month or two. That may be enough time...Hopefully when I do another one, I'll be able to keep things more controlled.

Anyway, I apologize to you all for not being a good GM, and for allowing the arguments to escalate as much as they did. I take full blame for this RP becoming as much of a mess as it did...

Awww don't worry about it Shadow. I still have Bianca's Bio on my Character thread. You don't need to blame yourself. At least we were able to complete the first one of this type, that's more than I can say about most RP's I have been a part of. Good luck in all you do!

Ha! You act as though you're rid of me. Not by a long shot. I'll be here, planning for the next hybrid RP. Just because this one shall be stricken from the hybrid continuity, much shall remain. Many of the characters I came up with, a few of the concepts, etc...

But, when I do restart, it'll be an RP all of it's own. It'll be similar to this, but different. So, it'll be worth participating in.

OOC: Yes, I know that this is under hiatus, but I shall be continuing my story until it comes to a point where interaction is needed. When ti doe I may try to jump-start this RP and see how it goes....

The tests were many in their number but thorough in their purpose; blood sample, tissue sample, stem cell sample, x-ray, eye and hearing test, pretty much everything you could do in a normal hospital. There were a couple more samples they wanted to take but Casey drew the line at bone and cartilage extractions being performed. As it was he was going to ache from the various bits they took but he was in an oddly co-operative mood.

Beside him through the whole thing was Serene, smirking at him as they stuck needles and things into his flesh....basically being the same as normal.

Outside, Absol, Kate, Tina and Chloe stood together conversing among themselves.

"....After we got safely away from the base and found shelter we tried to make contact with HQ while binding Jo as tightly as we could. We didn't know what her mental state was at the time, for all we knew the sudden slip in her control could have worn off completely by then and the last thing we wanted was a dangerous hybrid we didn't want to harm attacking us." Kate had been speaking for a while, recounting all that had happened since they had parted so long ago. "We had no luck contacting the base, we had been expecting it but our communication identification codes had been disabled as we left so we were on our own."

"We wandered for days after that, trying not to draw too much attention to ourselves which was a hard task as we were going around with a tightly bound hybrid woman with us. Eventually we came to a deserted and derelict house in the Johto countryside where we lay low for another three days. During this Jo time woke up in much confusion and in a sorry state. We had managed to keep her hydrated while she slept but we were still unable to get her to eat until that time. To our relief it seemed that she was back to her old self, in mind at any rate. Even though we lessened her restraints we kept her bound until we were sure."

"After another 2 weeks of wandering we came across a group of hybrids who approached us. Obviously we readied ourselves our a confrontation but it turned out that these hybrids were of a pocket of resistance who had been standing against The Master. They told us of his attempt to lay siege on some sort of god and that he had been destroyed in the battle...as had the god. They also told us of Aiko's alleged ascension and that two of the company that had entered had since vanished."

"We journeyed with these hybrids for over a month before a signal was heard on our communicators drawing us to the Indigo Plateo. We met this signal alone to find many of our old number, those who had chosen to leave hiding underground with the hope of actively doing something against the growing threat of hybrids against mankind. Using one of Rocket's cover identities and some funds tied up in reserve we set ourselves up to become the founding form of what we are now. Of those who had come to join us most of our most talented and inspired researchers had come, along with many skilled combatants and diplomats who became the backbone to our operations."

"It was not long before we made contact with the resistance again, under the leadership of the somehow returned Professor Palm. They told us of the current state of the hybrids and the seeds of conflict which had sewn themselves among their ranks. They also gave us much information on the hybrid serum in the hopes of us aiding is other in the search of a cure. During this exchange, Jo talked at lengths with the Professor. We do not know of what but after a year of rapid progress in both self-defence methods and a better understanding of the serum, she decided that she wished the leave us, and go work with the professor. My best guess is that she decided that she wanted to go out into the world and actively help those who had been changed against their will in the climate of conflict that was rife at that time. She maintained contact for a time, but that slowly faded over the years."

"It was a month after Jo left that the real chaos broke out. Seeing what was happening out there we decided that we could not stay in private. We had developed combat uniforms and it was from them and mission of preservation that we derived our name; The Grey Rangers. Our success was limited, but we managed to at least help those caught in the crossfire. We have continued in such a manner, developing new techniques to protect ourselves all the while our number grew as those we aided asked to join us, all the while searching in vein for a usable cure or at least a vaccine. We have found others such as this boy who were immune to the change. Of four such examples, two are dead, one other is in that room being tested and the other we have lost sight of. This boy is, by far, the only good lead we have had, the other three were highly sick; one was suffering from a sort of rapid cell degeneration and his body slowly shut down, another from blood poisoning and the third suffered from an unusual from of sickle-cell anaemia. From what we can tell the serum is rather sensitive to abnormalities in the body's cells and if they are unusual then the serum will not activate."

"We search a long time for the pair of you. However, it seemed you had vanished or simply did not want to be found. We did hear rumours of a travelling hybrid girl of Absol descent wandering the lands with a child in tow but given that we had not heard of any child in relation to either of you we paid it little mind. It is ironic really that you were under our noses all this time. but as for you, Tina, we heard nothing of you. Where did you go? Where have you been hiding all these years?"

"I left this world" said Tina, "I had no choice but to dwell outside the borders of this level of reality. I was chosen to act as guardian for both the spectral and the astral plains as their existing defenders moved on. Although I have borne such a burden for all this time, I feel it is quite apparent that I am little more than a steward, waiting for the real guardian to appear." Her eyes turned to the ground, "I can't stay here much longer. I am already breaking apart and it is only a matter of time before I finally give way."

Outside, many shapes were moving, taking positions all around the hospital, leaving no route for escape.......
