Gary looked to Ashton, "The name's Gary. You?" he asked as he went to his bike, which looked like an old British bike-and-sidecar. He hopped onto the bike seat and gestured Ashton the seat in the side car if she so desired, "We'll be leaving soon anyway." he said off to the side.

Looking back to Surge. "The hell you hauling around Sarge?"
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

"Ashton.... No, Ash. Just call me Ash. No need to be formal with you, right?" Ash hops into the sidecar and puts on the helmet stored inside. It's a tad oversized, however, so it keeps falling down over her eyes. "Ugh, great. Things just seem to go against me today."

((Just wondering. Shouldn't Ashton's medication for the virus have worn off by now? How long does a vaccine usually last for?))

Gary shook his head to Ashton's question concerning formality and laughed a little as Ash's helmet kept falling, "No, I've given up formal titles and vain names. Casual business is the only honest kind..." he said as if speaking of past experiences. He shrugged, "Though it doesn't matter now...you and your sides are past butting diplomatic heads and have focused on destroying each other like civilized adults..." his smirk he gave to Ashton was that of abandonment and surrender, it was obvious he had tried to do something in the past.

((And...uggh...the vaccine has probably worn off. I'm just a failed GM lol...remind me where you were process-wise.))

Ash pouts (cutely, unbeknown to her) when she hears Gary laugh at her predicament. Yet another reminder of who she is now.... Great, now she has a headache! A big one, too!

"Right.... Sure." She murmurs, not listening to or even caring about what Gary just said to her. The pulsing pain in her brain is more important at the moment. "You don't happen to have Aspirin on you, do you? My head's killing me."

Alana follows the Dog Girl as she somehow manages to pick up another girls body. She was barely alive.

"Hey look, I'm sorry okay. I never did get a chance to play much after my parents died. They didn't let us play much in the Boys army. We couldn't have any fun. It was all serious and stuff. I've heard of it, but after I joined the boys army hoping to do something good, we couldn't have any fun at all. I played a lot with my German Shepherd when he was alive." Alana says this as tears start to form in her eyes.

Surge tries to take the machine out of the box and tie it to his bike. "It's hard to explain..." said Surge to Julian. "I'll tell you once were out of here". Surge tries his best to keep his vehicle stable with the new load. "Gary, right? Lead the way" said Surge since he was gonna take them to his hideout.

(( I'm asuming my bike is around the same size as a FF7 bike. So he could more or less be able to take the machine with him for later analisis. ))
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"

If he were paying enough attention, Gary would spot one unmanned (and tricked-out) bike trying unsuccessfully to hide around a corner. Whether this is of anything worthy of concern is up to him.

((Yes you'll be fine on the bike))
Gary nodded, "At my home I have suitable medical facilities for any headache you might be suffering." he says matter-of-factly to Ash. He does indeed notice the bike but realizes that they have little time to investigate. "Come on guys!" he shouted as he revved his bike up and took off. Now unlike the usual bike and side car setup, Gary's went from about 0-80 MPH in 12 seconds.

The hybrids look at her oddly, but continue with their work, "Don't cry about it. Just let yourself go next time..." one casually states before continuing the clean-up.

Surge followed from the rear to keep the groups back covered.

"Oh okay. Thanks."

Alana wipes her tears away and continues to help with the clean up.

((Dan was loaded onto Julian's bike presumably? Or something like that?))
As the boys were biking through the wilderness off to some odd stranger's house; about ten minutes on the bike ride, after the fort was long out of sight, a squadron of five faster-than-sound jets screamed over their heads the exact opposite way the boys were heading. It was obvious why Gary had wanted everyone out.

Gary had a sombre expression on his face as he led the way. As Ash looked at him, a part of her would feel the logical hatred toward him for not warning any of the boy's forces about the impending mass-homicide...but another, smaller part began to see things on an emotional understanding level; it was obvious Gary wasn't with the boys and his bearded state only helped fortify the idea that he hadn't seen anyone in months...slowly Ash would find less hate and more of a sorrowed understanding for the hermit-looking guy.

As the boys neared the mountain's edge, Gary ended up in a clearing. It was a meager-looking encampment, doused fire, tossed-over tent, an ill-fated tarp...it didn't look like the home of someone who watched everyone. "All right boys park your bikes near mine and we'll try and cover up what we can..." he parked his own bike just past the treeline and grabbed the large tarp and hung it loosely over his own (after Ash got out). It looked like a couple more bikes could fit under there.

***
Soon the cleanup was over and all the hybrids seemed beat. They all went back to their bunks and literally fell asleep as they slumped into their separate holes...it was clearly bed time.

Shawn steps off of her own bike and guides it under the tarp. Her expression is still a little haunted. "Well, if nothing else, I'll be having several nightmares over the next few weeks..."
