(Ha! Ken's the winner!!)
Gary shakes himself from his nostalgia, "Well...you've all heard the rumors of the Alpha squadron that acheived the first few victories of the war. Those few boys who infiltrated the girl's budding empire and formed the foundation of the boys' resistance. It started in San Francisco...as a meager defense line. The boys I gathered started out as a rag-tag, jury-rigged unit sent to defend our first line of defense. There, they destroyed the biggest threat to our retaliation, a massive armored suit. One of the boys..." Gary paused a moment, "...managed to sneak a detcharge onto its back. God he was stupid..." a smile broke on his face, "But with that, our victory was assured." he paced the floor a bit before sitting in the chair, "That was the first time the girls' transformation technology became known to us. It was a sort of slime in some forms and a smoke in the other...none of this insiduous bullet lacing. It was completely painless for the most part, but the second it touched you, you were tainted. Their bullets were basically concentrated powder that scattered on impact. Inhaling it was always the first mistake..."
"Once we returned, we discovered the intent of the girls' war of conversion rather than destruction. The boys' teamwork on the battlefield earned them Alpha status and they were the appointed squadron to get what needed to be done done." Gary looked off into the empty room with boxes lining the wall as he said it, "The next mission was to get a presumed antidote...but that mission ended up disastrous."
He shrugged, "It's been a long time since I've talked about it...but afterwards I reached my twentieth birthday. To that end, I don't know of anyone else that's escaped from the reapers." he smiled again, hoping there would be some expressions from that statement, "After that we ended up at an abandoned mall where a sort of primitive society was budding. It was a matriarchal society that maintained the girls' opinion of dominance but treated boys as breeding stock or manual laborers. Underneath, was a stasis factory. You won't hear about them now, they've been blocked from what I've heard. If you've ever wondered where your parents went, that's where; stuck in stasis...if the power sources have still held. If not, you'll find nothing but empty shells filled with basic rage, like zombies but look like your relatives." he sighed as he remembered the twisted faces of those that had broken from their capsules. "We knew that something was going on after that...that some outside power had arranged this, like some cheery school experiment."
"With our news we returned to the base. I had been hit with what you now call FemmeX and had transformed at a relatively quick rate. The authority I had gained as the director of Alpha Squad was quickly drawn away from me...my own army, the side I fought for, sought out to interrogate me and kill me. If it weren't for Alpha Squad, I'd be dead now."
"It was obvious we couldn't go back. So we threw in our lot and went to investigate this greater power...another apparent fact from my presence here is we didn't succeed...and I haven't seen them since. Some died, others suffered a fate worse than that...The details after are a little fuzzy. But I made it back...and I've decided to stay out of the affairs and watch the war."

Sariah shook her head, "No! You're asleep! This is all a construction of your mind to make you a better, powerful person!" she seemed more than angry for a moment until she simmered down a bit, "Your friends will be fine...wherever they might end up, I'm sure. But you need to focus on yourself...When the time comes, and you're in this same state...you won't be able to save your friends."
It's not about how much dough you make -- it's about how delicious a pizza you eat at the end.
