The Mole: A Sci Fi Mystery

Neil doesn't appear to be changing any longer. Other than the exhaustion, there isn't anything he feels out of the ordinary.

The captain motions Thomas towards the cupboard. "Have at it." He frowns and checks his smartband. "If it's contagious, it's a virus or something, and there are shots for those. We find out what it is, then nip it in the bud. But just in case..." He gives Isaac a stern look. "We may need to quarantine those three. You up to it?"

[Knight Errant]

Isaac walks up behind the captain. "Sir... you called over the PA system?"

[Bigmouthstrikes]

"Q...quarantine?" Niel asked. "I'm contagious?"

[muffinstud]

The captain nods. "Keep Neil's room isolated for the time being. Take some food too, in case they'll be there for a while. I don't want anyone going in or out until we know what's going on."

Neil, while still feeling rather drained, feels kind of good. He feels a little stronger, and his muscle tone looks even better.

Dean might recall seeing symptoms similar to this with some designer drugs. Made to give the benefits of steroids without as many negative side effects, they still gave people anger issues. That still wouldn't explain the hair growth, but sometimes illegal designer drugs have weird side effects.

Isaac nods in reply. "Yes I can handle it. I'll go to the cafeteria and grab something... should I make another stop while I'm at it?" Isaac pats the empty holster on his hip, looking at the captain. Things were going bad quickly on this mission... and he couldn't trust the crew to listen to his authority just after they had all met.

[Stray-chan]

Thomas has been studying the manual for the blood sampler. "Ok," he says at length, putting it down. "It seems pretty simple, and I do know where to aim to get blood, so," he picks the sampler up, "Who wants to go first?"

He raises a curious eyebrow at Issac's motioning to his holster. "I kinda doubt you'll need a weapon, its just us here. Unless you think Neil is going to turn into some horrible monster, like in a movie." He sounds pretty amused at that thought.

[Blaze]

Dean frowns and looks at Neil

"Have you been taking any... 'questionably legal' drugs?"

[Knight Errant]

Isaac looks to Thomas. "We have no idea what we are dealing with. Things are going wrong right out of the gate on this job... and I'd rather be over prepared than under prepared."

[Stray-chan]

Thomas just shrugs to Issac. "Your call. Just figured I'd point out there's really no need to stress out about all this." He holds up the sampler. "Blood test before you go?"

[Knight Errant]

"... might as well, to be safe." He rolls his eyes, holding out his arm to Thomas. "Also... its my job to stress out over potential safety hazards. I dont have the luxury of kicking back and thinking happy thoughts."

[Bigmouthstrikes]

"You know, I actually feel kinda good." Niel said sitting up. "You think maybe this quarantine thing is a little unnecessary?"

[Blaze]

Dean shakes his head.

"We don't know what you have. I am leaning towards this being caused by illegal designer drugs, but until I know for sure, you stay put."

[Bigmouthstrikes]

"hey!" Niel said, almost offended, "Am I being accused of drug use now?"

[Blaze]

"Symptoms similar to what you experienced have been observed as a result of drugs, so I am not ruling it out." Dean says calmly.

Captain Hardy nods to Isaac. "Nothing lethal." He rolls up his sleeve in preparation for getting his blood sampled.

Neil looks very fit now, however his muscle tone doesn't really come off as "cut" or "ripped." It's more of a subdued muscularity, evident in his arms with how they still look somewhat slender despite the new level of fitness. His hair, though growing at a much slower rate, is just barely brushing against his shoulders now.
