"Hmm... perhaps. But what if I find one too late, and she catches you?" Dana says with worry in her voice as students suddenly start getting up!

"I'll be fine. The last two times I wasn't prepared... but if I'm running from her, I don't think she's going to find it do easy to catch me", she said, looking proud of herself for a brief moment before that turned to panic when everyone started to rise. She quickly copied, giving Dana a confused look.

Dana gets out of her chair too.

"Practical experiment time~!" she says happily.

Georgia blushed, getting a little reminder that despite being a fully grown adult a week ago, she probably knew the least out of the whole class when it came to science and most other subjects. She glanced around, the idea of being around chemicals making her somewhat nervous after the Hellchemist incident.

"They're not going to let us touch anything dangerous... are they?".

Dana leads Georgia to a cardboard box in the corner of the room. She takes out two pairs of thick plastic glasses and hands Georgia one, slipping her own pair on.

"Nah, not really. Just don't do anything dumb."

Georgia slips the plastic glasses on and squints a little before giggling at the cheerleader. "Ha... they suit you", she teased.

Dana giggles and leads Georgia to an unoccupied bench, opening the cabinet underneath and taking out a Bunsen burner.

"For this experiment, we gotta expose magnesium to heat." Dana says

Georgia followed her, still seeming a little cautious, keeping a couple of feet back when Dana brought out the burner. She nodded her head, and then glanced around.

"Where do we get that stuff? The... magnesium?".

"Up on the teacher's desk, a silvery strip." Dana says, pointing.

"Could you get it for me? I'll get the burner going."

Georgia approached the teacher's desk, scanning it for the silvery strip that Dana had sent her to look for. She paused and watched her classmates to see if they came to get one of their own.

Indeed, several classmates have taken a silvery strip of metal from a Petri dish containing several of them! The teacher sits and makes sure everyone gets only one. As Georgia approaches, she gives her an odd look.

"N-New student huh?" she asks in a voice that's barely a whisper.

Georgia reached out to take a strip of the metal, but paused as she heard the woman speak. Her cheeks went a little red, but she flashed a shy smile and nodded.

"Yes, Miss... Georgia Hepkins. I just started today", she introduced herself while plucking up the mercury strip.

"O-Okay... good to see you..." she mutters, her eyes still peering at Georgia owlishly, curiously.

"A-Anyway! Back to work Miss Hepkins."

Georgia tilts her head slightly at the woman's behaviour, but turns as she was told to get back to work, her skirt swishing up a little, and headed back to the workstation she was sharing with Dana, where she set the strip of metal down in front of the other teenager.

"Okay, we got everything we need now?".

"We do! Here we go!"

She takes a match and lights it, turning the valve attached to the Bunsen burner and holding the match above the spout, igniting the gas. She adjusts the base until the flame is small and blue before taking the magnesium strip with some tweezers and holding it in the flame.

"Wait for it..."
