Paul hears the sirens, but shrugs and decides to ignore them, especially when he notices the line at the museum.

He walks over toward the museum and approaches the back of the line, wondering what could have caused so many people to come to it on this particular day.

He steps up behind whoever is at the end of the line and clears his throat. "Hey, what's with this line?" he asks.

Matthew lets the fleeting moment of anxiety from the creepy song pass upon hearing Sarah's voice, he replies to her greeting with one of his own "Hey! ...did I wake you? Sorry about that. And I did get the text! How does eight at your place sound?" He smiles to himself as he waits...

...then he hears that same song as the last store... he looks over to the building and murmurs "...that is so unsettling." He checks to see what that store is. Then keeps going on his, at this point not so merry, way.

"It must have reached the science labs..." the teacher mutters grimly, trying to make sure everyone filed out neatly.

"Don't panic everyone! Just procede to the fields in an orderly manner!" he yells.

Elton stumbles as the explosion hits before righting himself and walking out far more quickly. "Not good, not good at all." he mutters. If the school's too damaged he might have to miss a lot, or go somewhere else. That'll throw off the whole year, and with college admissions coming up... Elton sighs and keeps walking in line. Best to just go with the flow and do whatever happens.

Kaitlyn pockets the phone, relieved that emergency services are on the scene. She remains somber for a moment, still thinking about that arm... *shudder*

"Hey Jessica?" Kaitlyn says, finally breaking the somber silence of the car. "Be careful driving okay?"

Jessica nods once to show she heard, but says nothing else.

The group arrives at their place of work, a large office building, with nothing else happening. Jessica parks the car and get's out, same with Ben.

"... feel like calling in sick..." Ben mutters.

"Right... I guess I could head in today. I'll need directions to the place. Also any particular dresscode?"

The passing thought enters his head that this might be a prank pulled by his friends... but... whatever.

"Whatever you like. I doubt you have anything formal anyway..." the voice on the other end says with a cruel laugh.

She then rattles off a list of directions from Dan's apartment building to the bar.

The woman in front of him, a young punk with piercings all over her face just scowls at Paul.

"It's the line into the art museum obviously."

She turns around and mutters, "Dumbass..."

"Mmmm... nah, just woke up. Eight sounds great..."

The store is a clothing store! The staff seem a bit confused and nervous about the song as well.

As Matthew passes the next store, he hears the next part!

You should be afraid if he should visit you...

Soon, Elton emerges from the building into the dreary sunlight. THe students around him are babbling loudly, some are sobbing quietly as another explosion, this one larger then the last, rattles the building and causing several to scream loudly.

Once out on the field, the teachers take a roll call to make sure no one was left behind.

Dan raises an eyebrow... what a female dog. "Right... I'll be there as soon as I can." He hangs up the phone. Looking at it... he had a bad feeling about this... but... really whats the worst that could happen?

Shrugging, he heads back into the bathroom, giving himself a shave and freshening up. Then heading to his dresser he gets... dressed! In jeans, and after some consideration, a T Shirt.

Getting his wallet and keys, he heads out of his apartment... getting in his car and following the directions! Looking for this bar...
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

Kaitlyn takes a look at Ben to assess how he's feeling. "I know... that was pretty grim." She'd never seen an accident that bad before. This one was right alongside their workday route... It just made her uneasy. "Be strong, buddy. Maybe work will take your mind off of it?" Kaitlyn liked to look for the positive, and she didn't particularly feel like getting back on the road after seeing that mess.

Despite his words, which he makes sure are quiet enough such that they shouldn't be overheard, Elton does seem a tad nervous as he glances around from building to building. His rationalized apathy doesn't seem to penetrate fully into the more emotional parts of his psyche.

"Here!" He says as the teacher calls his name.

Matthew stops walking, and peers at this third building. Is their radios broken or something? This makes no sense. ...hmm. It might be a prank. A pirate signal on all frequencies He shakes his head once, then speaks into the phone "Oh! That sounds great hun. I'll be early!"

The man then starts walking again... picking up the pace. Something in the back of his head is put off by that music.

The directions lead him to a large building where there was once an empty lot. It is a large ominous thing made from some kind of black stone. Gargoyles perch on the roof, their faces twisted and grotesque. Their onyx eyes seem to follow Dan's car as he finds a park right outside.

Shadowmaster wrote:"Gee...thanks." Paul says sarcastically. "I meant, what in the museum is attracting so many people? It's usually not this busy." he adds.

"How the hell should I know? Guess people really wanna see some goddamn art today." the punk says with a shrug.

The line starts moving as people are admitted into the museum.

"Mmm... maybe..." Ben mutters as he locks the car.

Jessica has already started towards the door at a brisk pace, Ben walking after her. Now that she's in the middle of town, Kaitlyn may hear all the sirens that fill the air. Even now, a fire engine speeds past, it's sirens blaring and a full fire crew riding it.

"Sarah Fielder isn't here." Elton's teacher whispers, all color having faded from her face. Elton may remember the quiet studious girl that only spoke when spoken to in his class.

At that moment, a third, much bigger explosion rocks the school and a large section of it-the area where Elton's class was included-collapses.

As he walks, he starts hearing the song in every store he passes by. people in the street are listening to it. One older gentleman can be heard muttering, "That's not how it went..."

"He's a horrid monster so I'll tell you what to do...

Kaitlyn idly wonders about those sirens as she walks into work. Ideas of zombie movies play through her head, a shiver running down her spine. This day is just getting creepier and creepier, she thinks. It's probably just coincidence. Freaky, but... disturbing.

Dan stares at the odd building... vaguely remembering the spot to be empty. "I guess that's why they are so in need of someone to work... must be a new place. Damned if it isnt half creepy, though..."

He parks out front of the place, getting out and heading inside.

Elton stares in shock, lost at what to do. It's not like he has any experience at disaster relief. He doesn't even know where to start with such things, and the danger is still continuing. Besides, it's not like she was his friend. It's not like thousands of people don't die every day all over the world. Why should one near stranger matter more than any of them?

The rationale feels empty, but there's nothing else to be done really. Satisfied, so much as the word can be used for passively watching a disaster, that there's no real appropriate action to take, Elton continues to wait for something to happen his face an impassive mask. Why haven't they put out the fire yet? Shouldn't someone have stopped this by now?

He says into the phone, "...hon. I'm going to go. ...things are -- there is a bit of commotion. Don't worry. I'll be fine! See you at eight!" With that he hangs up, and slides his phone into his pocket. His quickened pace gradually comes down to a crawl, and he stops in front of one of the shops playing the music. What is going on? This is too weird...

He glances at the gentlemen, "...you know this song?"

Paul sighs and gives up on talking to the girl. As the line moves up and people are admitted to the museum, he follows, figuring he may as well see if he can figure out what the fuss is about himself.
