[Mistress Guendolen]

"Oh, okay. I'd like to hear that story sometime. But maybe right now you shouldn't walk backwards like that- you might trip over something-"

OOC: Hey, I got the picture of us posted in my art thread a little bit ago! Just wanted to mention that, so you'd know it's on-site.

[Teddy]

THUMP! Genno tripped over a carelessly placed sign that read: "Apartments for rent! Please ask inside for price ranges." They were indeed in front of an apartment complex, so maybe they still had some luck.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise winced as he went down. "Ow... you okay?" She hurried over to offer him a hand up. "But it looks like you found the building.... You know, that's the one I thought I saw on the way here. Let's go take a look!"

[Teddy]

"How lucky." He grabbed her hand and dusted himself off. "Yeah, I'm all right.. Let's go!"

Inside, a woman sat at a desk, chewing some gum. "Can I help you two?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise put on her best smile as she approached the woman at the desk, not really noticing that she's still holding Genno's hand. "Yes, you can, or at least we hope so," she said. "We've just arrived in this city, and are in the search of an apartment. Could you tell us more about what you have to offer? And if it's a good time, could we take a look at a sample apartment? We're interested in a basic two-bedroom place."

[Teddy]

Genno was all-too aware of Elise's hand, but decided against saying anything about it. He nodded at her last statement and added: "Yeah, a two bedroom place would be wonderful." The woman only shook her head and muttered something her breath before chuckling and smiling at them. "If you two would please follow me..."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise looked around as they followed the woman, taking in the building. "This place looks old," she commented.

"It was built over fifty years ago," the woman replied.

"Oh, so it has a history, then? Anything interesting?"

An expression briefly flashed across the woman's face, one she quickly tried to hide by briefly adopted a look akin to that made when biting a lemon. "I cannot tell you anything in regards to that, I'm afraid.... Ah, here we are." She unlocked the door they had paused before, swinging it open. "We have a few places open that are along these lines." She stepped back to let the pair precede her inside.

It was only when they were stepping across the threshold, not wide enough to allow the entrance of two people side-by-side, that Elise realized she was still holding her companion's hand. A slight flush suffused her features. Have I- been holding his hand for all this time?... Uh-oh, I should probably stop.... But... I don't want to! This just seems so natural.... In order to distract herself from that train of thought, she determinedly started studying the apartment on display before them. "So- um- wh-what's the rent for a place like this? Do we get any utilities with it? You know, electricity or water or heating or anything like that, or do we have to pay for all those things separately?" She was only dimly aware of the fact that she was at least semi-gabbling, all as a distraction from this rather disconcerting increased awareness of this boy she had so unexpected found herself with.

[Teddy]

"Oh, it's fairly cheap, 300 (insert common currency here) which includes ALL utilities. Are you two SURE you just want a two-bedroom apartment? I mean it's cheaper and you two seem to be.." Before the woman could continue, Genno spoke up. "We're... Quite sure. Right Elise?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise nodded hastily. "Yes. Quite sure. Very much so! Two-bedroom. Yes, tyhat's what we need." She took a quick, deep breath to cease the gabbling, flushing a little more from the woman's inference. "Can- can we see- you know- the other rooms?" she quickly added, desperate to change the subject from that dangerous territory. "That- that's a really good rent price, from what I've heard...."

[Teddy]

The woman nodded and led the two of them through the apartment. It was medium sized, with two bathrooms, a 'living room' with a couch and T.V., a kitchen and a dining room. And of course, two bedrooms, each on the one side. "So, what do you two think about it? I know it's not much but..."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"I like the look of it a lot, actually! It comes furnished and everything? That's really good! What do you think, Genno?" She angled a look up at him.

OOC: Hey, once we've got a "place" established and these two "moved in," maybe we should start an "Apartment Complex" thread. With any luck, at least a couple other players might move their characters into it as well, so we can have yet another place to potentially meet up. And if not, well, it still makes sense, right? At least I think so, anyway.

[Teddy]

(That actually sounds like a pretty good idea Gwen.)

Genno nodded. "It looks perfect. Not too much material wealth, but enough for us to get by. So... We'll take it?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

"I say yes. Not only is it a good middle ground, but the place overall has a positive vibe to it. I think we'll be happy, living here."

The lady from the desk still looked just a little uncertain. "Well, if you're really sure- do you not want to look at a one-room, just to compare?-"

"We're sure! Quite sure!" Elise made a hasty one-handed reassuring gesture.

The woman shrugged. "All right, then. If you will follow me, please, to sign the papers?"

[Teddy]

Genno nodded and followed after the woman, whispering to Elise. "I... Think you denied the whole 'single bedroom' thing a little too quickly. Do you really dislike me that much?" He stuck his tongue out at her then flashed that grin of his.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise blushed harder, letting out a little squeak. After a minute, she was able to find her voice enough to say, "Dislike? No. B-but not exactly, you know, ready for- or used to hearing- that sort of thing yet...." Then she made a little face back at him, then hurried after the lady who had given them the tour.
