Greg seemed to get very quiet at the thought of returning to the boys. He mulled over the possibilities and basked in nostalgia. "Yeah...I guess that's a good idea." he figured it'd be best to get attended to instead of dying.

No hybrid bid Chris goodbye as he left. The girl's base with the hierarch was North a few miles.

Mary Anne shook her head, "You're not useless Charlotte. It was only an initial test and you did just fine. The hierarch isn't worried about your progress, believe me." she looked around for a moment, "Well not much is going to be happening for a while...we're in a lockdown."

Slowly, she sat up in the bed, one hand holding the ice pack to the back if her head, the covers sliding down a little to reveal whatever she wore across her upper body as she peered up at Mary Anne in bemusement. "Lock down? But... why?", she asked. Her blue gaze turned towards the bedroom door, and she bit her bottom lip. "Are we under attack?". Without even realising, she'd said 'we', talking as if she and the girls were now one. She just started to picture facing her former allies, who'd no doubt shoot before she'd even get a chance to explain who she was.

Mary Anne sighed, "We're in lockdown because we received word from our intel that a lone boy is approaching our base. Intentions unknown. We can only assume that it's Chris looking for you or an assassin after the Hierarch. We can't let anyone know that it's Chris however, so the entire base has been put on an internal lockdown. No girl in five miles is outside a magnetically sealed door, and nothing but a missile could hope to penetrate anywhere but the boys quarters." she stood up and picked up from the edge of the bed a suitcase, "I brought some things to occupy ourselves though...little somethings to pass the time before the Hierarch arrives to make sure we're all right."

She wriggled over in the bed slightly, making room for Mary Anne to join her should she wish. "How many girls are in the base?", she asked. Her knowledge of the base was quite limited, as this wasn't really her usual area for working in on the boy's side. "There's boy quarters here?", came the next question, her expression growing a little more suprised, but not as suprised as she looked when the Hierarch was mentioned. "The Hierarch is coming here? To my room?", she gasped as she peered at Mary Anne's suitcase.

((Timewise actually, we're at about 6 PM))
Mary Anne giggled at Charlotte's confusion, "There are about a thousand girls in this base, yes there's a boys quarter for transforming boys, experiments, or bargaining chips for ransom, and yes, the Hierarch makes a visit to each room to make sure every girl is safe." She left the suitcase shut as Charlotte made her some room. "If we're going to be bunkering down, we might as well dress for the occasion." she opened up the closet, a room Charlotte had never seen opened in her time here. As it was opened, the closet seemed massive and held any number of colors and styles. Charlotte picked a small-sized pair of butterfly pajamas and tossed them to Charlotte. "Put those on, I'll get into my own pajamas in here."

She blushed at the older girl giggling, but the thought of a visit from the Hierarch made her feel a lot more excited than she knew it should. Watching Mary Anne open the closet, she wriggled down from the bed, leaving the ice pack behind, catching the pajamas that were tossed to her, "A thousand girls? That's much bigger than my old base... do you have helicopters? I saw them now and then, but I never figured out where they came from... are there other bases near here?". They were questions that the old Charlie would have asked to gather intelligence... but the way she asked them, it sounded like a little girl's curiosity.

She pulled down the capris from her gym clothes, and then peeled off the white t-shirt with it's smiley face across the chest, and stood in her underwear for a moment, brushing her hands over the material of the pajamas. She wore an embarrassed expression, but pulled the top on first, wriggling her arms into the long sleeves, and then lifted her feet up to step into the bottoms, pulling them around her waist and tugging the string a little to make them more snug.

She reached up to remove her headband, but found someone must have taken it off after her fall, as her blonde hair was flowing loosely down around her. She swept it back from her face, and then blushed as she caught the reflection of herself doing so.

Julian nods. "Good. I'm sure they would be happy to patch you up after what you did. They will owe you big for this one. And who knows? Maybe with this we can even end the war."

He was feeling a little optimistic... a rare emotion for him.

"Is there a vehicle in which we could carry you?" asks Surge since the bikes wouldn't help in that and Surge doesn't wanna risk Greg ridding one alone and crashing. "Maybe a mini van?"
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."

Greg smirked, old memories welling up inside him, "I'm sure they would..." he half mumbled. He struggled to get up, groaning in pain, "I do have a van...though it's kind of old and beat up. But if we're headed back, I need a shave..." he eventually made it up and walked the short distance to the single restroom.

***

No hybrid bats an eye at his departure. It was a long and lonesome road on his way to the girl's base. As he approached the headquarters, he would be a little uneasy by how silent everything is...you could hear the occasional wildlife...but there was absolutely no noise from industry. The large buildings seemed like their off switch had been flipped; no lights, no noise, if he didn't know any better they were in a lockdown. All windows and doors had been covered by blunt plates of metal.

***

After a long while of waiting, Mary Anne stepped from the closet; a completely different woman almost. Her hair had been taken out of its style, her aberrantly long hair cascaded down her front and back and her makeup had been completely cleaned off, revealing a naturally beautiful face. Her soft features without makeup seemed almost prettier. She wore a modest set of purple pajamas, fairies danced on her top and bottom, the drawstring on her waist peeking out from under the long shirt. She wore no heels and no socks. She smiled a little before jumping playfully onto the bed, "You're actually in one of the more important bases, one of the Hierarch's safe havens. And we don't have helicopters here, we specialize in land vehicles here: tanks, jeeps, motorcycles, and experimental vehicles as well. Some of the bases up north focus on air assaults and we occasionally ask them to send an air unit to help support us.

Charlotte climbed back onto the bed before her, and blushed as the teenager joined her. She could almost feel two separate personalities existing together in her head. The teenage boy's attraction to Mary Anne, and humiliation at her current appearance, alongside a more immature admiration for the other girl, and a sense of being under her care. Slowly, she leaned forward, resting her head against Mary Anne's shoulder, sliding her arms around her waist, "Remember we were talking about our brothers and sisters at lunch yesterday? You never got to finish telling me about your brother... and the project the old Hierarch started...", she mumured.

"Go ahead... maybe while you do that I can take a look at this van? I've messed around with cars before the war... with my dad..." He trails off, the memories of a simpler time coming back.

Chris walks along still thinking about the hybrids and whatthe girl had said as he reaches the base he looks around for a possible entrance as he walks along the outer wall looking for a door he could break in or some sort of entrance into the base

Surge patted Julians shoulder. "Come on Soldier, I'll help you with the van" he said going to check on the vehicle. He was suprised tha Julian almost opened up, though right now, Greg's health is more important

The van was a rusty, old piece of junk. A relic of the 1970's, this hippie wagon had all the rounded windows and irreparable dings you could ask for. On the outside, it seemed like the largest paperweight. Underneath though, the vehicle revealed a power almost comical: A diesel V-16 engine was what powered this junker, further examination revealed a reinforced body to compensate for the immense power and weight of the engine. The brakes were state of the art. Finally, after gazing at the beauty behind the beast, the problem was easy to see...the suspension had basically been shredded and blown.

***

Chris would find absolutely no way in other than a 10 Meg Warhead. It was odd, how defended the complex was...almost as if they'd been told about something or someone.

***

Mary Anne smirked, but it was almost sad, "Yes...I was talking about that, wasn't I?" she maneuvered herself and Charlotte so that they both had their backs comfortably against the headboard. "As I was saying...my brother had been taken and was almost dead. The old Hierarch had devised a new method, an internal post-battle way to convert boys into girls. It was a theoretical concept that swapped intelligences between the brains of individuals..." she paused to see if Charlotte might react to that.
