The Nuclear Base/Power Plant.

Xiao laughs softly, "Sorry, this is more than just being awake for too long, I doubt that this will help..." he responded before opening and sipping the drink, "Well, help enough."

[Mitera Nikkou]

Tetsuo hesitated for a split second before raising her gun and cocking the hammer, pointing the barrel at Scientia's head.

"Please... Let me in there." She told her deliberately and as evenly as she could, succeeding in hiding her own distress over her action. "You wish to do what you want to do, and I have something of my own. I go in there, and I get what I want. I die brutally and you succeed with your plan, you get what you want."

In the background of her thoughts, she hoped that Scientia wouldn't call her bluff about using the gun.

(OOC: I'll wait to post again when MoS does. That silly Genno is probably making faces and mimicking our speech while we're not looking. ;p)

Scientia opens the door insantly. "Yes ma'am. But you're wrong about one thing. I don't want you to die brutally."

When they weren't looking, Genno mocked their speech. He hated it when he couldn't be involved, that they had no use for him. Well, he was needed now, so he immediately stopped. "So. We're going?" He stretched and walked towards the door.

(OOC: Sorry. Been overwhelmed with stuff as of late.)

Tetsuo closed her eyes for a few moments before opening them again.

"You go ahead." She told Genno. "Just don't make me regret it."

She kept her gun trained on Scientia even though she had no intention of using it. Someone had to, or there would be less of a guarantee that she'd follow through with the order, or trick them... And since there was an ante-chamber sort of arrangement for safety purposes between this room and the reactor room, Scientia could have closed the door behind them and never open the one directly connected to the reactor room.

(OOC: I can't remember, but... Did I get the part about the decontamination room, or whatever it is, right? Even if it's not there, Tetsuo'd still stay for the reason of making sure that Scientia does what is forcefully being expected of her.)

(S'alright. You were correct with the ante-chamber.)

Scientia opens the door for Genno, closes it when he is through, and opens it on the other side. "You know, I might be a mad scientist, but I'm not going to stop you when you are this intent. You're making me a LITTLE nervous...Besides, you might be the only one who can save your friend."

When Genno reaches the other side, he finds himself facing a room that he could only glimpse from the control room, a room straight out of Half-Life. At the center was a large force-field, containing the nuclear fuel rods. They were suspended partialy inside a secondary, metal cylinder, which served to keep them in place, though still freeing part of them. Two large laser looking things rotated around them, manipulating them to get the most power. These lasers rotated on a track to get the best angle, and were connected by a cable.

Also, parts of the floor supplied elecricity to the force field through thick cables, and there were a couple of ladders that led to secondary control panels. On one of these panels, The Boss was waiting. She was muttering to herself slightly incoherantly, wondering when Scientia would deactivate the force field.

She hears Genno enter, and turns around. "Ah, welcome heroes, to the final battle. Now, we shall see if Humanity has the strength to limp along, or will allow one that is better to replace it, as Darwin intended. Accept your fate gracefully, and join us, and we will offer you a place in the new world we wish to create. Come to us, insert name of hero...Aw, crap. Stupid notes, can I get a do-over?"

She hits the side of her helmet, and growls. When she has finished with her growl, she continues. "Well, anyway, join us or die. Even though I think I know the answer, it's considered polite."

(Note: Elise and Xiao are allowed to run in right about now, to keep everything together.)

OOC: I'm waiting for someone to post the results of Xiao taking the energy drink before I do anything else. I don't want to run in without him.

Once Tetsuo is sure that Genno has made it inside of the reactor room, she lowers her gun and lets out a sigh of relief.

"Don't worry, there's no way that I'd shoot you..." She admitted, shifting around a bit sheepishly. "I just wanted to make sure... Well, you know..."

She soon collected herself and gestured toward the control panel, saying, "Anyway, you had said something about a shield... Is it the kind of shield that'd be best left on during a fight...?"

(Oops...the energy drink is pretty effective, and kills the tired sensation, or at least gives his limbs the feeling that it is time ot move. He doesn't feel like he is about to fall asleep, or feel exhausted, but his eyelids do feel just a little heavy.)

Scientia nods. "Yeah. That's the shield that prevents people from grabbing the nuclear fuel rods and running. Sure, they have to manually enter the controls to actually RELEASE the rods, but it would still be bad if one got dropped, or fractured. Unless you happen to LIKE cancer. Increased regeneration can actually back-fire if that happens."

[Mitera Nikkou]

Tetsuo nods her understanding.

"So you'll really let me in there...?" She queried.

She was probably being naive, but she did give a good a mount of trust to Scientia despite not knowing her that well, or for that long.

[Teddy]

Genno nods, slowly sizing her up, hoping someone would come and assist him... He couldn't die here. Could he? "At least you know the outcome before it begins... However, there is still hope for humanity, and well... If you idiots replace it, I'll be glad to fight and die for my race." He wasn't quite sure what fire would do to the force-field, so he didn't activate it. However, he did keep a wary eye on the boss, waiting for her to make the first move.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise touched Xiao on the shoulder, lightly. "Does that help any?" she said, sounding plainly concerned. "Because well, I don't want to linger out here, I need to go help G- the others while my leg is still working better...." Amazing how an unexpected connection with someone can make you so determined....

[Xiao]

Xiao nodded as he stood and said, "I feel better, but can't help much. I think I am still too tired to cast any spells though. Go ahead and help your friend and I'll catch up..." he turned to Black Jack, "Thanks for the help, but could you do me one more favor?"
