There. though I suppose I missed initiation....mind if I borrow the "intercom" for a bit?

[Tala]

*Kay reached the garden and almost sat under a waterfall when she caught herself and sat on a bench near it*

[Raleigh]

"Not at all. Just speak into the orb here and it will go out over the intercom." A small metallic orb appears floating in the air next to Mets.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Thora gave him a little smile. "Hello," she said. "Nice to meet you. Want to come with us? I don't mind."

"Ouch, sounds like a bit of an annoying situation. Sure, you can resume teaching and I will get on dealing with your problem. Mind if I take a tissue sample now? I might as well get started."

"Yeah, its me bro." Racheal looks at her brother with slightly narrowed eyes. "Very much so. I though you were going to be working here in town, not actually going to this school too. I suppose mom and dad had nothing with setting this up did they? Ahh, nevermind. It is good to see a familiar face, considering some of the odd things I have seen since I got here. Mind joining me and my room mate, Thora, here for a trip to the gardens?"

[Kris_Roth]

Fenros nods..."Of course, we have much to discuss, Rachael. It's about mom and dad and why I am here." He sighs..."It's best if we discuss this at the garden." He gives Rachael a hug..."You have grown much since the last I saw you. So, what are you taking up here?" He asks both Thora and his sister..

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Speaking for myself, I'm taking introduction to elemental magics, intro to weather manipulation, magical self-defense, and of course your basic academic courses as well. You?... Though if you need to talk to your sister, I can go away, if you like. I don't want to interfere in family business...."

[Kris_Roth]

Fenros nods..."If it is okay with Rachael, to allow you to listen to our family business, it's fine by me. Maybe a third party may be able to help. I'm more of a warrior, myself, as were all of our ancestors. They came from a land called Aranna. Of course, Half-giants are very rare in these parts. Most of them are exploited for their tallness. Of course, Rachael and I were fortuneate to have loving parents who wanted to keep the outside world from exploiting us."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Well, just so long as neither of you minds, I am happy to help.... Exploited? That's awful!" Thora chose not to mention that she'd never met a half-giant before; they didn't get many magical types in the area where she grew up. No need to talk about that, I certainly don't want to sound backward or ignorant.... "Don't worry, I promise never to exploit either one of you." She smiled gently.

[Kris_Roth]

Fenros nods..."That's what I like to hear, Thora. Our parents have been crusading for half-giant rights. That's why we are here; to get some training and education, and meet others who are unique, like us. So, you are a magic user, Thora? That will come in handy. Maybe you can also use nature magic to heal, or resserect those who have fallen in battle."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Magic user? Why, yes, I am. I mainly specialize in weather magic, though I seem to have an affinity for water, as well.... I've never attempted healing. Though I suppose it's an option I might consider, now you mention it." Battle? Oh my goodness, what battles is he planning on getting into?...

[Kris_Roth]

Fenros nods as he explains to Thora..."I'd rather hang out with my friends and my sister than fight...unless it's to defend a friend or train in your specialized field study." He stretches and finds a spot on a large bench at the garden. "This is a beautiful place, is it not?" He asks Thora and Rachael....

[Mistress Guendolen]

"I think most of us would rather spend time with friends and family than wage war.... Wars are so painful, so... futile." She looked around as they entered the garden. "Oh, my, yes, it is gorgeous...."

OOC: Better not do too much here until Raleigh describes exactly what we're seeing here.

[Raleigh]

The garden takes up most of the campus area, filled to the brim with beautiful hedges and plants of all kinds. Some of these plants probably are not native to the current world that most of the new students come from. One can see a few benches here and there along the grounds, for students and staff to rest their legs after taking a walk or to meet and gossip upon. The flowers growing on the left half of the garden seem to be very bright and vibrant, giving off a nice smell that induces a sense of peace and home in the person who is smelling their scents. To the right lay plants that seem to be of a more dull color but all the same make one feel as if they are amongst friends. Some smattered about on either side fluctuate in the strength of their colors, as if reacting to the mental projections of those in the court yard.

In the center of it all, is a pedestal upon which is held a sword. Below this is a sign that explains the sword and why it is warded to the nth dimension from anyone's reach. Trees not quite ancient in appearance, but no longer saplings either, grow here and there. They are usually near a bench in order to offer shade to whoever sits there. One tree, however, seems to sit alone and away from the main stone footpaths that lead throughout the garden. All things in the garden seem to almost shy away from the tree as if to grow near it would insult some higher power.

Near the pedestal with the sword stands Raleigh and Mets as they discuss whatever it is they are discussing, the students can not quite catch all of it at the moment. Kay is sitting in a bench not too far from either group, possibly able to overhear a bit of either conversation.

"I am mostly taking some fighting arts classes, brother dear. There are a few general magical classes on my list, mostly dealing with the theory at this point. I don't mind if she comes along." She walks with the others and her breath catches for a moment. "Interesting, I think I recognize some of these plants. I thought a few of these were extinct." She rushes over to check on some purple looking plants that are growing up near one of the benches. "Brother, you remember that plague that swept through all those years ago? This plant was supposedly harvested into extinction in an effort to cure people. I can't believe its here, out in the open where anyone could just pluck it up."

[Metroidvania]

"Not at all. Just speak into the orb here and it will go out over the intercom." A small metallic orb appears floating in the air next to Mets.

(grabs hold of the orb)

Attention to all students on campus.

This is Metroidvania, but call me Mets or Vania. Though I'm sure you haven't heard of me, that's because I keep it that way on purpose.

Anyways....

I've agreed to help Raleigh out by teaching Shadow Magic while he's currently doing a few favors for me. If you ever feel the need to master the darkness within.....come up and find me, Ral here hasn't given me a classroom yet. Or, if you have any general questions about magical theory, I can probably help you find your path.

And...if you have any inkling of latent psychic abilities, I'd be more than happy to help you discover if you do indeed have the mental fortitude to access them.

Oh yeah. I'm also an expert on demonology and demonic forces, (three red diamonds appear on my forehead for a moment before disappearing) so if any of you have the stomach for it......ask me about it some time, and I'll consider showing you.

(pauses, and turns to Raleigh for a moment, still holding down the "intercom")

Any rules on combat training?

Fenros nods.."Amazing. That flower is practically extinct where we come from." He then allows his sister to explain to Thora about a plague that swept through their area. "Would you care to tell Thora about this particular flower and it's magical properties? I could check my book for an exact match.." he rummages through his large knapsack, pulling out some clubs, and finally produces a book. "Ah, here it is; "Plague Remedies; an Abridged Guide." He gives this to Rachael.
