(Thank you, sir)

Pausing to make sure he wouldn't get shot, Shawn dashes toward the officer with surprising speed, considering all his heavy gear. He stands up straight and salutes, then returns his hand to the RPG and his back to the wall.

"Sir, Private Shawn Brown, engineer. Orders, sir?"

Ashton makes it to the frontlines to find a mass of chaos. The charging platoons of girls flinging themselves recklessly into the fray, firing their guns for a split second before knocked unconcious by the electrically charged bullets fired in defense, if only to cause the line behind them to gain more ground. Several boys lie unconcious on the ground as well while others inject themselves with the antivenom to continue the retaliation. The girls seem to be dropping like flies under the array of defense turrets and assault rifles but they also appear to be endless. A random tank shell sears in above the battle destroying a distant vehicle behind the front, allowing the shell's chemical gas to seep in from the back. A renegade bullet strikes Ashton in the chest but doesn't penetrate more than his armor.

Through Julian's scope, the numbers of girls to be seen dwindle substantially as they crowd the entrance. The helmeted faces of some infantry can still be seen here and there but they don't appear as frequent as the first few seconds of the rush. In the heat of Julian's rifling another sniper nest goes up in pink smoke and fire causing another riot of screaming from the boy guard in that one. There are three sniper nests left.

Allen would find himself staring at the same chaos from a different angle. He's much closer to the tank shell explosion but is otherwise unharmed. The pink gas isn't close enough to affect him yet. (please don't quote my texts, it just makes your post plagiarizingly long.)

The older platoon leader nods to the saluting soldier, "Skip formalities, we don't have enough time for that." he looks to the boys he's ordered to the front line and sighs, "It looks like we'll have to make a retreat back to another post..." he looks to the RPG, "If you know how to fire that well, I need you to set yourself up to fire a shot that will keep the girls occupied for a second for our troops to pull back. I'll give you the signal when everything's ready." He pats Shawn on the shoulder, "With your help we might save a few more boys...but the fort is lost from the look of it."

Another trooper approaches the injured Max, "From my orders, we need to fall back to the back exit. I'm assigned to make sure all troops not on the front line be escorted to a vehicle. Can you drive a truck?"

Shawn's already looking back at the blown-out gates, or more specifically at the girls pouring in, as if choosing the perfect moment to strike. Then he looks back at the officer, nods once with a brief, "Yes, sir," then dashes off to find cover in an unoccupied building's doorway, under a fellow sniper, looking at the gate. He stares down the RPG's site, a slight twitch in his blue eye, and fires one round directly at a platoon of charging girls, kicking up enough dust to almost totally blind them.

If one were to look closely, he might almost see regret in the poor engineer's eyes as he shoved his second RPG into the back of the launcher. Maybe he had a girlfriend once... or maybe he just wanted to use his shotgun. Maybe we'll never know.

Name: Daniel Woolberry
Age: 16
Description: Tall and gangly for his age, he has short cropped jet black hair and brown eyes. He is obviously of Asian descent (Korean) and has a big, goofy smile he likes to show off a lot. His camos are a natural fit for him, and he wears them proudly, even if he never wears his blouse. (or jacket if you prefer)

Backstory: When he was a bit younger, he loved to go to the mall and play at the arcades. He spent all his money there playing Cruisin' World, Hydro Thunder and any other racing game he could get his hands on. One day he came back home after an extended session with the new Initial D machine, his family just wasn't there any more. He spent a couple days trying to piece things together and carry on, but he just couldn't manage on his own. He left the only home he knew and joined the Boys Army because it was better than what was left of the rest of society. Dan has since improved upon virtual reality and is currently working in the motor pool maintaining the various vehicles when he isn't driving them.

Personality: Hates the war and the girls. None of it makes any sense to him. He would do anything to have his family back, but he knows all he can do is carry on and try to live as they would want him to. He is always trying to find the humor in situations, but it's sometimes obvious that it's a defense mechanism. He is completely suited and adapted to military life, and finds satisfaction in his place in the effort.

Aaaaaand intro:

Dan liked sleeping with the radio on. It always helped him forget things and get to sleep faster. Of course, now the radio is on his head, along with various pieces of debris from the ceiling. "OW! What the?" He shakes the grogginess from his head and takes quick stock of the situation. It's definitely an attack, he thought. He jumped out of his bunk and pulled on some bdu pants as he hopped towards the nearest vehicle. "Any one in here? What's the sit-rep?"

(Sorry N8, it won't happen again. I usually quote others text to help me figure out what I want to type. Sorry about that.)

"Wow that was a huge explosion. I hope I will come out of this alive somehow." Allen says as he scans the area to survey more of the damage.

Ashton throws himself down on the ground next to his fellow kinsmen and starts popping off several rounds at the seemingly endless flood of girls. After only a few minutes of shotting, however, he comes to realize the inevitable: The boys were going to be overrun. It was only a matter of time before they finally succumbed....

"SIR! SIR!" He shouts at a nearby soldier who seems to be in charge of the group. "We have to fall back! We can't hold them off for much longer!"

"Understood" said Max gratefully as he watched the medic head towards to front. Knowing that he only had a few minutes before he became more than a burden on the battlefield he decided to head to the front but stay towards the back of the line. He was a good enough shot with an assault rifle, so at mid to long range he should be able to at least help in the fight. And when the stim wore off he would be far enough behind the main fight to keep from being a nuisance... or at least that was the plan. It wouldn't mean much of anything if the boys at the front were routed.

This is insane. How many are there? he thinks to himself. He fires at as many of the girls as he can while trying to maintain cover.

Maybe I will get called back soon...

But until he did... he had to stick where he was. Deserting his post during a battle... well he couldnt do it.

He continues firing at the girls he can.

The group of girls Shawn fired at seemed confused for a moment before falling back into the mass of girls that are invading the complex. His explosion allowing that certain flank to be retaliated against for a few more seconds. In the roar of combat, the explosions of two of the defense turrets being destroyed can be heard over the noise. And a tank shell seems to rip into the defending line, forcing several boys to hit the deck. In the corner of Shawn's eye the platoon leader who had given him orders gave the signal to fire a defensive shot to allow evacuation.

As Dan gets situated into a nearby transport truck, a marine walks up to his door. "All right. Superiors have told us that we need to abandon the building. We'll be overrun before long. So we're going to evacuate as fast as we can. Once we have as many soldiers as will fit in here, you'll get the signal to head to the nearest HQ. You'll need to drive hard and fast because no doubt the girls will have pursuit teams to attempt to take more of our boys. You have a long road ahead but you should make it home ok." With that, a few evacuating soldiers hop into the back filling a small portion of the back.

((Something that works for me is scrolling down to the post you need to read in the Topic Review. Just read from there...*shrugs* it's what I do.))
It was surreal...looking across the battlefield. The girls were crawling on top and over their unconcious comrades to keep volleying fire at the defending boys. Some boys were unconcious on the ground, a garish pink inhabiting their veins; other boys were innoculating themselves again, and others were simply trying to hold their ground. Everything seemed to move in slow motion as Allen stared at the chaos...and moving slower still was the tank shell streaming through the crowd (the one Shawn saw), all the boys jumped to the side yelling 'Duck!' or 'Hit the deck!'. Allen didn't even feel the shell pierce completely through his armor to his shoulder; the force of the massive bullet piercing his muscle tissue to his now shattered bone, the ligaments ripping like twine. It didn't even hurt coming out the other side. As the shell hit the wall behind Allen, it exploded in a cloud of pink gas, completely enveloping Allen. As the cloud dissipated, Allen could see the damage done. In complete shock, Allen would be able to see his now severed arm laying a good fifteen feet away and a warm, fuzzy feeling was coursing through his veins as the chemical seemed to lull him into thoughts of how good it would be to fall asleep. All other boys around him could see a standing boy, without his right arm, standing very stunned; every vein in his body almost glowing a bright pink.

The boy nods at Ashton's grim conclusion. "FALL BACK BOYS! THROW WHAT GRENADES YOU HAVE AND HEAD FOR THE EVAC POINT!!" With that, the one in charge unstraps his grenade belt, pulls the pins, throws it into the mass, and begins to usher other soldiers off the fronline.

As Max made his way to the front, it seemed more and more people were running the other way. Some boys seemed to be limping while others were holding their arms in an attempt to slow the girls' venom. A random soldier patted Max on the soldier "We need drivers! Get to the evac point and grab a wheel." and the boy continues running towards the evacuation spot.

A soldier taps Ken's helmet. "We need to retreat! Throw what you can and get the hell out of here!"

The last two sniper nests explode in more masses of pink cloud, a message buzzing into Julian's earpiece, "It's time to head out soldier, you've done all you can...we lost her. Get to a transport and get the hell out." and the transmission cuts.

Julian cracks off one last shot, then shoulders his rifle. He walks backwards, grabs the sides of his ladder with his hands and feet, and slides down the ladder rapidly. ((saw this done on Starship Troopers. Was a very cool, and very fast way to get down a fixed ladder.))

It was a maneuver he had practiced more times than he would have liked... Used when things went bad and he had to get out of his sniper nest very fast.

But despite sore palms and the possibility of ending up on your back at the bottom, it usually worked very well.

Once at the bottom, he would head for the transports as soon as he could.

*He is too stunned to talk for a split second. He then speaks in a tired voice* I think it's time for me to take a nap." Allen says as he stumbles over to his arm. His eyes then start to close as he falls foward.

"Good night everyone." Allen says as he falls asleep.

Ken tosses any grenades he has and begins to fall back, occasionally firing a shot at the girls as well.

Shawn only nods again as he raises his RPG again. The thoughts echo in his head.

They're a bunch of traitors. No mercy. No mercy. No mercy.

He pulls the trigger.

No mercy.

The Rocket Propelled Grenade blows away another group of girls.

No mercy. No mercy... No... mercy...

As Julian makes it to the bottom of the ladder he finds himself drawn to the two forms of boys who were unable to evacuate their sniper nests before the chemical affected their brains. The two boys lie presumably unconcious but also seem to be very broken up. One boys leg is twisted behind his back while the other's elbow has a sick inversion to it. Their veins pulse with a faint pink glow and their breathing is short and quick.

((*sigh* All right...when you post...please post what you plan on posting. When you post and say "I'll edit this later." it makes me think that you're going to add a detail that I won't account for in my own posts. And one more thing...internalize yourself.))

Allen collapses to the ground into a deep slumber amidst the raging battlefront. Boys tripping over him while renegade bullets from the girl's rifles pelt his body, injecting more of the substance into his near-saturated veins.

Ken eventually makes it to the evacuation bay where there's a transport truck waiting for him, (the one Daniel's driving), a smaller transport vehicle with no driver in it, and a light defense vehicle with no driver either.

Shawn's zealous firing is interrupted by the same platoon leader. "Come on soldier, you did well!" and the boy runs off towards the evac point.
