A nondescript house, on a cliffside outside city limits

Xiao finds Neko a few miles in the other direction, in the park. She is, where all cats belong.

Stuck in a tree, covered by a parachute. With a large group of people staring.

"HELP! I can't see! And it's too thick to cut! And it's dark, and there's no ground..."

As for Pinoko's room, it's a normal child's bedroom, with a good bit of pink, a bunch of study books for various ages, some at a college level, and books for first grade. The college level ones have dust on them. There's also an X-Box, a PS3, and a Nintendo Wii, in addition to a Gamebody DS, and a PSP. The PS3 is autographed by a Ken Kutaragi. The message states. "My daughter thanks you for her life."

Another thing is a mirror, which looks like it belongs in the funhouse. It makes Elise look abnormally tall, with a build practically like that of a Barbie Doll! She can't see why someone would need something like this, especially since there's no other mirrors in the room.

Elise looked about the room. "This is so strange," she murmered. "And not just the mirror, either...." It looked like a place a little girl would live in. But... she professed to be the doctor's wife.... And come to that, didn't married couples typically share a room? "I wonder if something happened to her...." Some sort of accident or traumatic event that led her to regress her mindset back to that of a younger, simpler time? Very curious indeed. In fact, Elise was tempted to get out her cards and try to do a reading to see what came up in this place.... The only thing stopping her was not having permission to do so.

Next moves rely on MoS and Xiao, considering the former has to give the ready, and the latter has to get Neko out of a tree.

Given the crowd, Xiao lands a bit away near a bush to avoid to much attention. After emerging and shaking some braches from himself, he walked over to the tree and began to examine it. After a few minutes, he held his staff behind him, as if he were about to make a verticle swing, and jumped, swinging and using his staff to try and catch on on of the parachute cords. He began to pull, to either force the parachute off of Neko or get her out of the tree.

Xiao's move is successful, except for a slight miscalculation. Neko does get out of the tree, but now she is falling. And he pulled the parachute cord.

Neko, upon landing, realizes the ground feels a good bit softer than it should. She looks down, and realizes that she is sitting upon a big lump in the parachute. She walks over to the edge, and pulls the parachute off of the lump, revealing one mage with a headache. "Ooh! Black Mage! I think I have a T-shirt for you to sign."

Xiao stood rubbing his head, "Ugh, who is this black mage you keep talking about? I think you're mistaking me for someone else. But more to the point are you all right? You seem fine but just to make sure..."

"...No. I really don't. So, go ahead and preform the operation that's needed."
Ohahaha. Oh, Xia.

He nods, as Pinoko walks in. He puts the mask to Genno's face, which tastes awful as promised, like a combination of the worst parts of cherry and mint, with the mint EXTREMELY strong. Genno is asleep before he even knows it.

Neko cocks her head at Xiao. "But you're dressed like a mage, and your face is all black. You mean you're not Black Mage from Final Fantasy, the dreaded killer of thousands? So evil that only he can represent his own darkness? And he's a good guy, too!"

Elise, in order to take her mind off wondering just what was up with this grown woman living in a child's room and in fact acting much like a child, wandered over to peruse the bookshelf. Maybe there'll be something interesting to read. Not only would it keep her busy, but would distract that latent sense of curiosity that had stepped up again....

The bookshelf is an eclectic bunch. It includes Sun Tzu, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Peter Pan, Pinnochio in numerous translations (along with a few misplaced dvds.), a good bit of manga, mostly stuff like Azumanga Daioh, Fruits Basket, Sailor Moon (Original Japanese Remake Versions), and then back to books. It includes a few textbooks, medical stuff, Anatomy for Dummies, some law books, mostly concerned with medical law, and a few Pre-K, Kindergarten stuff, like See Spot Run, How to Count, that kind of stuff. She also has Rurouni Kenshin, and a couple of japanese novels, Melancoly of Haruhi Suzumaya, Twelve Kingdoms, Sakurai Taisen, A Certain Woman, The Wild Geese, and the first Japanese Novel, the Tale of Genji. Also guides to Japanese Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana. Along with guides on languages. There's also a book on how to draw, and an accompanying notepad. Elise can't help but glance at a picture of Pinoko that was hanging out. It has the girl who looks ten (Or younger!), but with the body of an eighteen year old!

She couldn't help but shake her head a bit. "This is so... strange. I don't get it. Is that just one of those strange comic-style things, or is there something going on under the surface here?..." Resist urge to do a reading, Tarot is often oblique anyway, and I don't have permission to pry, both Mom and Dad were very specific about that, you never do a reading for someone without their permission unless it's a dire circumstance.... Stuffing the art book back on the shelf and trying to distract herself from the train of thought that led to curiosity, she randomly snatched one of the novels from the shelf and opened it, trying to read and hopefully lose track of time until Genno came out of surgery.

She finds herself reading Twelve Kingdoms, a novel about a high school girl who gets sent to a world of magic. What's remarkable about it is that her reaction is more realistic, in that she has no idea what the heck is going on, and that the magic seems a bit more low-key. It's also extremely well-written, and rather engrossing. (Note; If Elise reads Japanese, it is in Japanese. If she does not, it is in English, and tell me, because Pinoko will point out something special about it.)

Elise settled herself in the nearest chair (or on the edge of the bed, if no chair is available) and made herself as comfortable as she could in someone else's room. This really was a very good story.... She must look for a copy of it somewhere. All thoughts of divination, all worries about money and employment, all were forgotten as the story took first place in her mind....

OOC: No, she doesn't read Japanese. So it would have to be in English. I would very much like to hear the "something special."

"No, nothing of the sort," Xiao said in response, "I'm just a person who knows magic. Just like your not a Khajiit just because you resemble a feline."

((Yes, he still has the shadow on his face and the spell which should keep people from connecting his normal self to his mage self.))
