Make a TF Foundation: A new Werewolf

"Oh? That one," said the girl as she looked at the book that Kevin was looking at.

Kevin hasn't quite looked inside the catalog yet, so he doesn't know what it lists, though he does suspect. "Sure." After checking out the book, he waves good-bye to the helpful librarian. "I'll let you know if I stumble on one of your missing books on e-bay or something," he says. "Anyway, I have to go, appointments to keep and all that." Assuming he isn't interrupted, he heads out to his car.

((Just skipping the mundane detail of checking the book out for the sake of expediency..))

[Hehe, no problem.]

And he is out in his car! Gasp! About... half the day is spent. What now?

It would be a good idea to look in the book for any hidden messages or randomly useful information...but it's also lunchtime! Kevin drives his car to a fairly nearby Sonic. In light of his meat cravings, he orders two burgers and a drink. While waiting for his order, he looks through the book and discovers the information mentioned in the earlier post. He makes a mental note of the name of that special flower, wondering whether it had to be specifically enchanted or just eating it was enough.

The girl just waves good bye to Kevin as he checks out the book and went back to her own work.

It's called the Lycanthropous flower. It must be plucked and prepared during a full moon, though how to prepare it is unknown. It also mentions that, acording to legend, it must be eaten during sunset of the night of a full moon. Therefor somebody has to spend a month of time making sure that the flower is properlly prepared and doesn't go bad.

Well..if this is actually true information, it's probably some part of the preparation that messes with the eater's gender, Kevin thinks to himself. He uses a random leftover receipt from the car to bookmark the spot, wondering whether some superstitious people might have put the proper method up online somewhere.

After lunch, Kevin drives out to the forest he'd been in last night and pulls off the road, using a campsite parking lot. It's time to get a proper feel for the place, so 'Terra' will stand half a chance of knowing where she is...

It's a very wild forest... 'Lupus' forest, to be exact. The trees are thickly settled, with an occasional clearing. If he looks closely, then he'll notice some werewolf prints around. He'll aslo notice that something about the forest is... off... it's hard to descripe; it's as if it is confusing his senses just to be in it.

Kevin focuses his mind on the direction he first entered the forest, carefully calculating his movement around trees as they get in the way. After a little while, he turns around and starts walking back, trying to see whether he's encountering the same scenery as before or the place has some kind of magically-induced geometry to it.

Magically induced; try as she might she can't get to the circle that the werewolfs met last night.

..Except he isn't trying to reach that, just make a straight line in and follow the same line out. It's not like his directional memory is good enough to find a specific part of the forest that Terra went to under normal conditions, anyway.

Aaah. In that case, it is impossible. He would find himself circleing around that same moss covered rock again and again.

After seeing that he isn't making any progress back to where his car is parked, Kevin takes a good long look at the rock so he won't forget what it looks like from any angle, and then goes specifically away from it, not changing direction.

And he comes back to the rock. Great. Either there is a spot in the forest that is exactly the same as that other one, or he is officially in a magic forest.

Kevin pauses a moment, thinking. Then he figures out which way is approximately north by the sun's position, and then goes north, west, south, and west again, turning at the rock each time, just to see if that'll do anything..not that he really expects it to.
