The journey was long and hard but eventually the resistance arrived at the site for their new camp. The clearing selected was in the woods just west of Celadon City. With the camp now pretty much set up Tina turned away from the camp and headed towards the almost deserted city.
"Where are you going?" asked the Staryu, "There is nothing in that city any more."
"There is one thing" said Tina, "An old friend rests here. You knew him well."
"You mean..." started the Staryu
"Yeah. This is where Professor Palm was killed." she said, "I wanted to pay my respects, before he becomes forgotten."
The Staryu nodded. "I shall visit later" he said, "After we are properly settled in I would like you to show me the way."
Tina smiled and walked away. It was early evening by the time Tina reached the place she had fought with the Kyogre hybrid. The urban area was in ruins, left un-repaired by the fleeing population in the aftermath of the conflict. Much of the ice had melted by now but in the middle of the crater there was still a thick layer of ice. Tina stood at the edge of the ice and looked at the dark shape inside.
"Well, Professor." she said, "Here we are. I'm sorry I didn't come visit before but I was....I was....I like to think that I have been learning about the hybrids, but all I've found myself doing is helping with their plans. I don't know what to do any more. Without you everything fell apart, the others joined the hybrids, Mary was forced to betray her partners, even the resistance we never met came apart at the seams while others were left to pick up the pieces. The others...I worry about them. Aiko has become the literal frontman for the whole organisation, Erin, well, Erin found a part of her past to cling to, to keep her sane, but It's Joule I'm most worried about. She's a kind girl, and not cut out for this sort of thing. I want to end this but I'm cut off from anyone who could help; The resistance is in a truce with the Hybrids for the moment, the humans who are left just wouldn't stand a chance and Team Rocket has gone into hiding. I know where they are but they won't get involved now unless there is no other choice." She stopped. She was running out of things to say and tears were starting to well up in her eyes, tears which she didn't think she had any more. "Look at me. I'm pouring my heart out to a dead man I barely knew." her head slumped, "I can't even feel you in here any more. At least Absol is still there for me. Right now she's all that's keeping me fighting. If anything happened to her...."
She was interrupted by a surge of power coming from the direction of Hybrid Headquarters. The surge quickly faded but another energy flickered and faded only to reappear minutes later. Tina knew that energy but could not believe it.
"No..." she murmered, "It can't be. Professor...."
Tina looked into the ice again. The form was still there but upon very close inspection there was something different about it. Unable to shake off the feeling Tina sank down into the ice. when she reached the form she was shocked to find not the professor, his face apprehensive as he awaited his fate, but Lyon, his cold visage covered with shock and surprise. Tina gasped onto the surface and trembled on the ground for a few seconds, the image of what she had just seen still in her head. After she recuperated she got up and began to run back towards the camp. Far above, the clouds of rain gathered and soon the city was drenched. The water falling near the ice froze instantly, covering over the crater in a new layer of frost.
