"I watched alot of survival shows on the discovery channel, if that helps..." said Matt.

(( Shameless advertisement xD ))
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."

Krystia looks over at her Aunt Hilda for guidance..."I don't know much about cooking and stuff. I feel I won't be much help..." She seems very disappointed she won't be able to contribute to the group on survival...

Hilda looks to Krystia. "You can find food, can't you? You know what different fruits look like, and you should be able to handle yourself if you come across a wild animal. You'll do fine, child."

The bartender sighs. "I'm not..." She looks down as she rows. Mike can tell she's more lying to herself than anything.

-----Time Warp!------

The boat makes a shushing sound as it makes contact with the soft sand of the beach. There are plenty of palm trees a little further in from the shore and further than that is a large green blob of jungle. The beach extends to either side and curves in to give a rounded effect. Kind of like an island. The sun has set and darkness is creeping in. So far, no lights have been seen on the island. The dark sky has no clouds in it.

Bill jumps out and pushes the boat just enough to lodge it in the sand. "There, that's not going anywhere. Now, let's get set up for the night."

*Brianna literally jumps out of the boat onto the shore.*"How are we going to do that. I don't think any of us have tents or anything."

Matt jumps off the boat and takes a fist full of sand. "Oh yeah! Sweet, sweet land!" he said as he brushed of his hands. He turned towards Heather and offered her a hand. "Come on, let's get you out of that thing"

Amy can tell that everyone's leaving the boat because of all the noise and the fact that the space around her is becoming more open and the temperature dropped a few degrees, but she's obviously in no hurry to leave the boat yet. She ever so slowly puts her cane onto the sand as if testing whether or not it's really there. Then she slowly puts one sandaled foot down, still gripping the boat like a cross, then shifts her weight and sets down her other foot. She finally pries her free hand from the boat and starts wandering further into land. She looks... confused, strained, as if she's listening for something...

Krystia nods and hugs her Aunt..."Thanks, Aunt Hilda, I'll take this cell phone with me and a small scouting party for food. Maybe we can make some fishing poles and find some bait. Maybe we can find some coconuts, and other things to make food." She then heads over to the group.."All right, let's get organized! We need people to find food, another group will collect firewood and make a campfire to cook our food, and look for some fresh water to drink. Another group will build shelter, and these flares I found in the boat will help us signal passing ships to help us. Maybe build a signal fire or something so passing planes or helicopters can help...maybe the Coast Guard is around, or the local navy."

Mike nodded sarcastically, "Oh yes, I'm sure you're not." his next phrase was spoken in a whisper for her ears only, "At least that's the truth I think you want to convince yourself of."

--Time skip--

As the boat pulled up to the island Mike looked at the surroundings. The palm trees and sand lacked that exotic vacation-y aura that most postcards had. No, this was an unforgiving place so far. He would have to try his best to even survive. Mike made sure he didn't volunteer himself for anything, he didn't like being told what to do.

Nick steps off the boat and glances around the island a bit. "Well, at least we're off the water..." she mumbles. "As long as the sand doesn't try to kill us, I'm fine with this place."

"You can control regular sand..." Nick says. "But what about sentient sand? It's easy to control something that doesn't move normally..."
