looks at the person that opened the door with a leery eye.

"Short version of what..." he muttered, walking into the room he glanced at the various people sitting around, taking stock of the various individuals one part of him was curious with the odd group assembled while the other part of him was starting to regret bothering with coming here in the first place.

"this better be good." he said to no one in particular.

Noah noted the next person to come in, which made the six. He quickly retreated back to his seat and sat down, grabbing his bag. "What if the item doesn't fit any of us here?" The engineer asks, letting out a slight yawn.

"That much, Noah, I've been told--it will be one of you six." He looks over at Matthew. "Not you, though. And you're out of turn--Jace asked for it next."
He looks back over toward the two late-comers. "I was hoping one of my other guests would tell you, but they aren't int'rested in being helpful so here it is: There's an evil warlock-king and dark monsters taking over the north and probably headed south, and ancient prophecy as well as my own revelations show that you six are at least part of a group of people destined to keep him from doing what he did up there, everywhere. For the task you need gods-made weaponry like that thing--" (he indicates the silver ring/bracelet being passed around) "--each of which only work for one of you. Oh, and somehow or other the destined ones are supposed to be female, even though every one of you I've had revealed to me is male." Looking at Matthew again, he snaps: "That cover it?"

He throws the braclet he stole at Jace. "What's wrong with you?" He asks the Prophet after he snaps at him.

"awesome... this has the be the worst ballad concept i've ever heard" the sarcasm is his voice apparent. "I mean everyone's heard of the issues up north... but seriously... prophecies?"

mentally kicking himself for actually wasting his time coming here gil almost turned to leave before eyeing the trinket, wondering how much it would go for he decided to sit for now.
"eh i guess i have some time to waste, if nothing else this could be good material for a new ballad i've been working on"

"So, the prophecies wrong then?" Adam asks the robed guy. "I mean, it says the heroes are supposed to be girls, and none of us are. So either you've got the wrong people, or the prophecy was wrong when it said the heroes were female."

Trying hard to hide his feeling of trepidation, Jace slips the bracelet over his wrist. At the same time, he tries to think of how a prophesy speaking of heroines could possibly be about him - or about any others in the group.

Jace also finds the bracelet-thing ineffective on him...which leaves just two more choices.
The prophet nods at Adam, then adds: "Or: artifacts of unimaginable power have unimaginable power." He gives it the tone of a striking revelation, dripping with only the most potent of sarcasm. He addresses the rest to pretty much everyone: "I think you'd be pretty grouchy too after watching some three thousand-plus disasters, natural or otherwise, happen twice--once to know it's coming, and another since nobody does a thing to prevent or protect against it. If there's one thing I'm sure of, it's that people don't listen." He pauses mid-rant, suddenly opening his eyes wide even though they're clearly unfocused on anything in the room.
"Look. Be good and have the two late-comers try that thing on, and don't burn the place down. I was just told there's a seventh person in town." With that, he rushes out the door...

With a sigh of relief, and perhaps a hint of disappointment, Jace holds out the bracelet for whoever wants to try next.

"mind if i take a look" without waiting for a response Gil takes the trinket from Jace's hands.

looking at this trinket it clearly was worth decent coin, considering that he had just seen someone else wear it, it probably wasn't cursed... god knows he's gotten into enough trouble with those sort of goods.

looking at the rest of the room he puts it on wondering if any would care if he just left and pawned it as the nut-job prophet had already left the building, then again even if they did care would they even notice his slight of hand tricks in swapping it with some cheap babble in his pack.

The bracelet has no effect on Gil, which to the others should mean there's just one more option or the Prophet is a quack.


Meanwhile, the Prophet in question is booking it, and once he finally reaches the shop he's looking for he bangs rather raucously on the door, muttering something about excessive inconvenience and 'why did you tell me six when it was seven'...

Looking up from putting some of his equipment away in his shop, Kyle sees someone at the door. Not recognizing the person, Kyle yells toward the man. "Sorry buddy, the shop's closed! Come back tomorrow!"

The mysterious person is dressed in a cloak that seems capable of covering every single feature of him that would otherwise declare him a human. Well, at least it's human shaped--and has a human voice. "I'm shopping for a particular man, not machinery," he yells back.

taking off the trinket he holds it for a moment deciding whether or not to steal the object, against his better judgment he tosses the object to the last optional person a memory of the last time he crossed a so called 'prophet' swaying his hand.

"well that was a waste of time" he yawns as he turns towards the door "hurry up so we can be done with this"

Kyle looks over toward the man, confused as to what he means, exactly. "Well, if you can't tell, all I sell here is machinery and various parts, not people! So, I'm afraid I can't help you, unless I somehow know this person!"
