Make a TF foundation: The last /wo/man on earth.

"So... I'm stuck like this." Bert sighs. "Figures." She half smiles and shrugs. "Well, I guess this is what I get for designating myself as our cook, huh?" She chuckles lightly, but she's trembling, and she drops her knife. She wraps her arms around her waist. "Why me..."

[Shy Shay]

Cain gives a look to Kyle... who up to grasp the behind of Bert. "Heya, sweet thang. What say you me go to my bed? I'll make the hurt go aaaaaall away."

[muffinstud]

Bert's face twists and she turns, placing a hard jab to Kyle's groin. "Shut up!" She's got tears coming out the corners of her eyes. "Why can't you just leave me alone?"

[Shy Shay]

Kyle falls to the ground, moaning in pain. Cain claps his hands. "Troops, time to retern to the bunker. Time for rest. You all know the way... groups of two. I'll go with the cook."

Bert squeezes her eyes shut and clutches her stomach. "Why this?" Her tears are making her cheeks wet, but she's trembling a little less. "Why me?" She sniffles, and wipes her tears as she tries to straighten up, toughen up. "This is so messed up..."

[Shy Shay]

Cain walks up to her as the rest start walking out, Mason carrying Samuel. "Well. Bert. I'll let you be in chage of what the two of us do next. Go home, salvage, or just talk; it's all up to you." This is actually a great honor... it means he both really trusts her AND recognizes that it is best that she leads.

The only other person to lead and expadition besides Cain was Samuel... and even then, only once.

Bert looks up at him. She bites her lip, noticing the difference in height. "Really?" She calms a bit and looks around. "Well, I'd hate for our trip to be a waste because of me. We should come back with something." She nods to herself, still holding herself and looking very insecure.

Cain nods. "Righto. We are in a city-- what do you want to look for? Food? Tools? Perhaps something else?"

It acures to Bert that Cain actually looks rather... nice. And he is being so sweet, to.

Bert frowns. "I don't know how we are on tools, but I know we could always use some more food." She bites her lip and gives Cain another look, unsure why he seems different. She blushes a bit, and timidly unfolds her arms as she takes a step closer. "You... don't mind me leading? I mean, you always take charge."

[Shy Shay]

Cain shrugs. "Things seem safe, so I don't mind letting a girl lead." He gives Bert a sly look, letting her know it was a joke.

Bert gives him a look, but she ends it with a small smirk. "Watch it, mister. You saw the thrashing I gave Kyle. I'm not afraid to do the same to you." Her smirk turns into a genuine, warm smile. "Thanks. I don't know how, but whatever you're doing, it's helping."

[Shy Shay]

Cain chuckles. "Yeah, just don't get used to it. Tommorow you're gonna have to work just as hard as everyone else. Now that the Zombies, if not gone, are at least a minamul danger, we need all hands on board. Now com'on. We got food to look for." He promptly turns around and steps out of the building.

Bert looks around. She frowns and gives the console of the machine a healthy stab with her butcher's knife before turning and following Cain outside. "Hey, maybe tomorrow we could raid that old mall? If I'm going to be... like this... I'll need some new clothes. I don't think my old stuff will fit any more."

He smirks. "Sure thing. They have a great victoria's secrete section. Kyle dragged me along last week."

Outside is an old town... nothing spectacular. A bunch of one to four story buildings. Mostly shops; they are in an outlet. The mall is rather close by, to be perfectly honest, but the food store is closer. Just two doors to the left.

"After you, mi'lady." He waves his hand in a fancy manner.

Bert shakes her head, and looks away from Cain. Her cheeks feel warm. "Oh, cut it out..." She heads to the food store first. "And you won't catch me dead in Victoria's Secret. Not anymore, at least." Confident she's not blushing any longer, she looks back at Cain. "And what's Kyle's problem anyways? I mean, I know it's been a long time since any of us has seen a girl, but he was nuts back there."
