"Oh okay." said Micheal as he tried to think of a character. "Still what do you suggest though?"

thinks about it for a second, then replies, "Well, personally, I go with characters that are some form of extreme. For example, I'm thinking this time, I'm going to play a shy character; she'd find it almost impossible to talk with people she doesn't know and even if she does know them, talks very little, but can get over her anxiety in serious situations. Very kind and thoughtful. I'd like her to be a healer, whatever kind is appropriate for what we're doing. Last RP I played, I was a blood thirsty madman out to get everyone with his beat up rusty old sword."

"Oh. That sounds interesting." said Micheal as he was thinking about something. "What if I did something like a rogue or something? Something not used often but really good? Still personality. Hmm....I have no idea on that."

Russel opens up his bag and brings out his binder full of player characters and concepts. Paging thru, he brings out a Female jade elemental sorceress that is somewhat older than most L5R types, being 25 years old, asian and mostly human with a 15 percent taint of naga darkness held at bay by her Jade hand. The drawing of her is almost surreal as it blends the humanity of her character with the dark dragon eating at her soul..."Will she do for a stary, or would you prefer We start out in lower level forms?" Russel asks Ishi

Dick goes with the age old method of character choice "e ne me ne...." eventually landing on the standard Indiana Jones type character Male charming rogue with a excessive of charisma and habit for picking up magical artifacts from still living people. "Hmm... eh that works" he says.

Clarence scratches his head and frowns. "Um... I don't really know. I'll just go with random, and let the Dungeon Master choose whatever character for me." He really hated choices.

"I've heard of rifts, never actually played it though. The basic idea is that it's literaly all rps put together. You can be a character from any game and be in it. So it's truly up to you, sorry can't be anymore help then that."
thinks a little bit before pullinng out some paper, starts mummbling to himself "I'm mostfamiliar with DnD so I'll sitck with that for my character. A halfling cleric so... long brown hair, dark eyes, probably be a little pale. around 17... she grew up in her church so was able to finish training early... but this is also why she's shy, not used to the outside world... low strength score along with con. Average dexterity and int. Wissdom'll be high though. If she's going to be a shy character, her charisma isn't going to be to high. Are we rolling stats, by the way?" asks the last part outloud

"Oh okay...Well hmm...I guess I could be a ninja." said Micheal who was thinking about it. He then thought about what the others had said and added, "I guess since everybody else is saying it is fun then I be a female ninja. Still is there anything else I should add? I mean everybody is saying like their personality of their character and history. Does that stuff really matter?"

"My concept stands." Eilian notes, "You know, we could use a female dancer." He chuckles.

"It depends on the style of play. In action centered games, those sort of things don't really matter, otherwise, it's just as important, in someways, more important, than your characters stats and abilities." grins at the dancer comment, "Yes, a dancer would be nice."

"Oh....I guess so. Still a dancer? That sounds interesting. Though does it have to be female? I mean it could be male." said Micheal as he thought about it. He consider what Leif was saying and then asked. "Still what can a dancer do if it is time to fight? I mean just dance? Doesn't sound very useful."
