A look of genuine concern flashed across Brian's face, and for a moment Mandy actually believed that her future boyfriend would actually do something to protect her from Esper's hurtful words. But then the period bell signaling the change of classes rang, and that goofy smile returned back to his face in full force.

"Whatever, Man Dork! I'll catch you later!" The jock, oblivious to Mandy's pain, turned around to face Esper, who still had that sinister smirk on her perfectly made-up face. "Hey, babe. I'll see ya' in third period, alright?"

"Oh course. I'll be waiting... But I'll give you something for the road before you leave."

The dagger that was already in Mandy's heart was twisted in even further as Esper, knowing full well that Mandy was watching, walked up to Brian and gave him a long, passionate kiss on the lips.

Mandy still felt weak at the knees when the bell rang as she slowly climbed to her feet. While as an adult she'd often worn quite short dresses, she'd also had the legs to back it up, but this school skirt felt even shorter, and he skinny legs were simply embarrassing. She continued to stair at the sporting couple as they made out right infront of her, and had to fight very hard to keep herself from whimpering as that girl put her hands all over HER boyfriend. "He's only with you because you're the tennis champ... I mean, who cares? Anyone could be good at tennis, it's not exactly hard... ".

Rein realized something as he stood there at the counter. The shop owner was distracted by a pale-looking woman, the necklace was small enough for him to stuff it in his jacket, the door to the outside was quite close by... He could easily steal the expensive looking item and leave without anyone noticing a thing.

---

"This is coming from the girl who constantly trips over her own feet and can't even hit the ball? Yeah, anyone could be good at tennis, just not you." Esper scoffed as she shoved Mandy to the side to exit the classroom. "You know, I'm glad that next period for us is gym, and that we're playing tennis again today. I'm going to make you eat those words."

The tennis star ran off, leaving Mandy alone with Christine, who was looking more than a bit worried now.

"... Ok, now I know you're definitely not ok! You need to tell me what's going on, and why you're acting like you're acting!"

Rein stands looking towards the door then back to the necklace then back towards the distracted store keeper biting his lower lip debating in his mind if he should try it not knowing how that would feel on his concious

Mandy was left cringing as Esper walked off, and she bit her bottom lip, shrugging her shoulders at Christine. "We have tennis next? Ah... guess I forgot... ", she mumbled. "There's nothing weird about how I'm acting... I just hate Esper Gomez! Just because she's pretty and smart, and really good at tennis... she doesn't deserve Brian!", she muttered as they walked out of the classroom after putting the shameful cone hat on the desk.

With all these supposedly magical items lying around, the store owner surely wouldn't miss one little necklace. Besides, based on how expensive it looked, there was no way Rein could ever buy it legitimately.

---

Christine shook her head as she walked with Mandy to the gym, causing her two ponytails to flop around as though they were huge dog ears.

"I don't get why you keep chasing that Brian guy. He's just way above your league, Mandy. Besides, he's got a girlfriend already, and I don't think he's going to dump her any time soon." The girl whines, her hands placed on her hips. "There are a lot of other boys in our class, and some of them are pretty cute. Why keep going after the guy who never stops picking on you?"

Mandy had forgotten how much she liked Christine's red pigtails, and found their flopping around quite soothing as the pair of them walked through school to the gym. She glanced down at her school uniform and blushed a little, tugging at the skirt. It had been such a long time since she'd worn this. Her tongue kept rubbing at her braces until Christine questioned her about Brian. "I can't choose who I fall in love with, Christine... ".

At the assurance that she would soon be able to revert to her normal self, the girl seems to calm, if only slightly.

"...Just for two weeks?"

She couldn't--couldn't be actually considering this, could she? Sure, knowing magic--who could resist that?
But...working as a girl?

Taking the hand, she stands.

"Well...I...guess I could try."

Pausing for a moment, Steve looks absolutely stunned. "Um, okay. I'll be there as soon as I can." Steve said, before quickly shutting his phone and darting out of the store as fast as he could, the place at the back of his mind. 'This could be my lucky break!' He thinks to himself as he heads on home to quickly gets changed into nicer clothes and maybe washes up for a bit.

After this, Steve then drives his run-down car to the Green Range and heads on up to the receptionist's desk, having a good feeling about this.

By some extraordinary stroke of luck, Rein was able to sneak the amulet past Samuel and walk out of the store without a hitch. The only thing he lost was a small bit of his conscience...

---

Christine rolled her eyes when she heard her best friend's words, but she decided not to say anything more. Mandy was always such a stubborn girl... But that's what Christine liked about her. Ever since they were in preschool, she always admired the other girl for being able to stand up for herself. Maybe she'll be like that some day too... Some day.

"Yeah, I guess you're right... Hey, we have to hurry up! Gym is starting soon, and we're not even in our uniforms yet!" She shouted as she grabbed onto Mandy's arms and, once again, zoomed through the hallways right into the locker rooms, where there were many girls already getting ready.

(What the uniform is, I'll leave up to you.)

---

"Excellent. I'm glad that you reconsidered my offer. There is just one more thing I must ask of you, however." Samuel, using a small ounce of his magic, produced the stack of papers Paul had signed before and handed them, along with a pen, over to her. "I would like you to put your signature on this paper again, as a sign of your understanding... But use a new name, one more fitting of your current form.

---

Emily, a elderly lady with a odd sense of fashion and a strange odor about her, greeted Steve with her usual yellow-stained smile before leading him into a very spacious office room. In it sat Mr. Esther, an older man with a balding scalp, a prodigious gut, and a laugh that made people mentally vomit in disgust. He was a self-centered man with a bit of a temper, but he was the boss of Green Range, and it was up to him whether or not Steve got the job.

"Oh, it's you. Sit on that chair in front of my desk." The office-attired businessman said, his back turned away from Steve and towards the window. He seemed to be reading over some documents, most likely Steve's resume.

Steve gave a pretty big grimace as his head was turned away from the elderly lady with the yellow-stained smile. Walking in, slowly shuffling his feet, Steve slowly nodded and didn't respond to the man, and quickly sat down in the chair, getting a bit comfortable, but only for a moment, as he sat up straight and started twiddling his thumbs in nervousness.

Rein, distracted by his new necklace, may not notice the two suspicious men trailing behind him. They had their hands in their pockets and their heads covered by hoods, shrouding their faces in darkness... Creepy.

---

"I've looked at your resume, and I saw the results for the entry test we had you take. After some consideration by me and other staff members, I'm afraid that we will not accept you for the job. I'm sorry, but you're simply not qualified."

Steve felt a sinking feeling in his gut as he heard the rejection... Literally. Underneath the business suit he was wearing, he could feel like midsection suddenly in size, leaving him with a flat stomach and a thin waist.

"Your skills are exceptional, but they're not what we need during these harsh times. We need someone who can add more meat to this company, you understand? Someone who can make us as plump as we were before the economy went down into the pits!" He continued, oblivious to the fact that Steve's behind and thighs were growing larger with each word he said.
