By some extraordinary stroke of luck, Rein was able to sneak the amulet past Samuel and walk out of the store without a hitch. The only thing he lost was a small bit of his conscience...

Christine rolled her eyes when she heard her best friend's words, but she decided not to say anything more. Mandy was always such a stubborn girl... But that's what Christine liked about her. Ever since they were in preschool, she always admired the other girl for being able to stand up for herself. Maybe she'll be like that some day too... Some day.
"Yeah, I guess you're right... Hey, we have to hurry up! Gym is starting soon, and we're not even in our uniforms yet!" She shouted as she grabbed onto Mandy's arms and, once again, zoomed through the hallways right into the locker rooms, where there were many girls already getting ready.

Emily, a elderly lady with a odd sense of fashion and a strange odor about her, greeted Steve with her usual yellow-stained smile before leading him into a very spacious office room. In it sat Mr. Esther, an older man with a balding scalp, a prodigious gut, and a laugh that made people mentally vomit in disgust. He was a self-centered man with a bit of a temper, but he was the boss of Green Range, and it was up to him whether or not Steve got the job.
"Oh, it's you. Sit on that chair in front of my desk." The office-attired businessman said, his back turned away from Steve and towards the window. He seemed to be reading over some documents, most likely Steve's resume.
