Quite a lot of strange characters are present. Mages, warriors, rogues... it seems types from every walk came out of the woodwork. If he had to give prizes for unusual... it would have to be the young girl in a cloak sitting at the table, munching away at some pastries and milk.
The door at the far end opens, a guard looking out. "Ten minutes until it is time."

Standing up, she stretched her short arms up over her head, and then rubbed at her eyes. So much conflict raged inside the little paladin's mind. She glanced over at the breakfast waiting for her, and then back up at the beautiful red-haired woman that towered above her. There was a little hesitation, and she tugged on her dress, as if debating wether to try and stage a fight back... but she knew it was impossible to reject all this. Letting out a sigh, she went over and climbed up onto a chair at the table, and helped herself to some pancakes. Only after several mouthfuls did a guilty expression come over her young face. "What's going to happen to Nev?", she asked.

"This place must have been abandoned to the demons...
He slowly advances up the main path, testing the ground with his foot before putting weight on it, wary of any traps.
Vomica wrote:Ovvar nods to the man once more. He looks to the ground in contemplation, then back up once more "...indeed. Then learning is what I shall do. Or at least observe... I might not be able to destroy the spirits themselves... but perhaps I can..." He trails off, and glances in the direction of the Arena in thought.

The girl has black hair under her cloak, it and the hood framing a soft and rather cute face. She had to be around ten years old... she looks up at him with bright, red-tinged eyes. "Hey mister!" She blinks and looks over at the guard, then back. "Did you hear that! We are on soon. This'll be awesome!"
She only then seems to notice his hand... blinking again and shaking it! Her hand is small and soft, the nails on it short but well cared for... a light red polish on them. Obviously not the hands of a warrior or farmer. She seems vibrant... but the feeling of oddness only increases. For starters... the air around her feels warmer than the rest of the room. In fact... even the torches burning near her feel brighter and hotter.
The old man pats him on the shoulder. "Keep your mind open... and your eyes as well. You look a sharp one, lad... you might have what it takes to make a difference." The old man looks away... not at the Arena but up at Overwatch Castle, high on the hilltop. "If not... perhaps the age of Overwatch is coming to an end." He dosent necessarily sound sad from that statement.
Blindsense wrote:Nergal arches an eyebrow. Interesting... This girl was special. He wasn't sure how, but something about her suggested... Power.
Nergal wanted to learn more - and the mage was rather used to getting what he wanted.
"Awesome indeed," he replies easily, his hand dropping to his side again. "Tell me, little one... What is your name, and what are you doing in a place like this?"

She continued to stare as the red-haired seductress started to eat, blushing at the unwanted feeling of this woman being her Mother. "When you turn me back... will my thoughts go back to normal too?", she asked in a shy voice. "It feels like... y-you're my Mother... but not quite", she blushed, remembering the kiss. "What did you do to my mind?".

They're messing with me...
He bumps into the fountain and sits on the edge, looking into the dried-up thing.

Ovvar gives the man one more nod, "...thank you." He glances in the distance of the castle, then back to his friend. He replies, "...it might come to that. It is not a jump of logic to know that the spirits predate the city... very likely at least... ...and so therefore are very likely to out last. Peace, in all reality, should be maintained." He looks to the ground with a slight look of uncertainty, "...perhaps it is we people who are just visitors..."
A few of seconds pass of silence, and to the bold Ovvar it feels like ages, he finally breaks the quietness with a murmur "...the Church either needs to assist... or the king must be convinced this campaign is folly..."
"I'm Annie! I'm totally going to save the kingdom and stuff!" She giggles, smiling.
Behind over at his seat at the table, Gol rolls his eyes. "Got a new girlfriend do ya?"
Annie sticks her tongue out at him. "Just you wait! I'll totally spank you and stuff!"

Ickle Harri-chan wrote:Ginny had known she had love for the woman, wether created through dark magic or not, it was there, and strong enough to make her heart itself feel heavy. She also knew it had changed when the woman had made her younger, but to hear these two things said aloud still felt quite a shock. It sent a chill down her spine to think this woman was capable of changing people's dreams and desires with her magic. She swallowed a deep breath, thinking of her own daughter, who was only a couple of years younger than her now. "I... I have a daughter...", she said nervously after swallowing a mouthful of food. "What will happen to her?".
Blindsense wrote:"...Right," Nergal chuckles. "And why do you want to save the kingdom, little one?"
Vomica wrote:Ovvar peers at the man for a few moments. Over the course of the conversation his resolve had been sundered, and his plans destroyed. Despite all of this however, it looks like he just had a lack of information. He nods to the man, "...it is a war we want to avoid. Conflict only sows chaos and discord..." Ovvar extends a hand over, "...thank you for everything. Where the spirits might not have listened, I have." He adds, "...winning the Arena will be a trifle matter. I will speak to the king, and discover all that I can."
His course of action is still the same, to win the Arena, however his purpose is quite different. Instead of seeking to being a fighter for the king, he will be an envoy of balance.
