James looks around at the eerie place he finds himself in, his hands never drifting from the handles of his knives.

"This place must have been abandoned to the demons...

He slowly advances up the main path, testing the ground with his foot before putting weight on it, wary of any traps.

Ovvar nods to the man once more. He looks to the ground in contemplation, then back up once more "...indeed. Then learning is what I shall do. Or at least observe... I might not be able to destroy the spirits themselves... but perhaps I can..." He trails off, and glances in the direction of the Arena in thought.

Quite a lot of strange characters are present. Mages, warriors, rogues... it seems types from every walk came out of the woodwork. If he had to give prizes for unusual... it would have to be the young girl in a cloak sitting at the table, munching away at some pastries and milk.

The door at the far end opens, a guard looking out. "Ten minutes until it is time."

Nergal's fatal flaw always had been his curiosity. He trots over to the cloaked girl, an eyebrow arched as he sits down next to her. "...Good evening, miss," he greets, offering a hand - and trying to get a better view of the girl.

Ickle Harri-chan wrote:As the wonderful smell of breakfast reached her nose, Ginny wriggled out of the bed, dropping her bare feet to the carpet. Standing up, she stretched her short arms up over her head, and then rubbed at her eyes. So much conflict raged inside the little paladin's mind. She glanced over at the breakfast waiting for her, and then back up at the beautiful red-haired woman that towered above her. There was a little hesitation, and she tugged on her dress, as if debating wether to try and stage a fight back... but she knew it was impossible to reject all this. Letting out a sigh, she went over and climbed up onto a chair at the table, and helped herself to some pancakes. Only after several mouthfuls did a guilty expression come over her young face. "What's going to happen to Nev?", she asked.

The woman taps a finger to her chin. "I told her I would find another body... but I think she loves being me..." She smiles. "If she changes her mind... I'll find another form." The food laid out on the table is delicious! The woman walks over, sitting next to Ginny. "Mmm... cant remember the last time I have eaten real food..." She delicately takes a plate, carving a bite out of a pancake and popping it between her luscious lips. "Mmmm..." She smiles.

It seems solid... but a moaning sigh of wind whips through the deserted stone city... curling the mist into strange and eerie shapes. The ground rumbles slightly... small stones beginning to... levitate off of the ground. He can hear faint footsteps off in the mist... dark shapes that move about... seeming to melt away if looked at too long.

And this was a few steps in. The road goes on... though ahead he can see what looks like a stone fountain, now dry. Perhaps the town square?

The old man pats him on the shoulder. "Keep your mind open... and your eyes as well. You look a sharp one, lad... you might have what it takes to make a difference." The old man looks away... not at the Arena but up at Overwatch Castle, high on the hilltop. "If not... perhaps the age of Overwatch is coming to an end." He dosent necessarily sound sad from that statement.

The girl has black hair under her cloak, it and the hood framing a soft and rather cute face. She had to be around ten years old... she looks up at him with bright, red-tinged eyes. "Hey mister!" She blinks and looks over at the guard, then back. "Did you hear that! We are on soon. This'll be awesome!"

She only then seems to notice his hand... blinking again and shaking it! Her hand is small and soft, the nails on it short but well cared for... a light red polish on them. Obviously not the hands of a warrior or farmer. She seems vibrant... but the feeling of oddness only increases. For starters... the air around her feels warmer than the rest of the room. In fact... even the torches burning near her feel brighter and hotter.
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

Nergal arches an eyebrow. Interesting... This girl was special. He wasn't sure how, but something about her suggested... Power.

Nergal wanted to learn more - and the mage was rather used to getting what he wanted.

"Awesome indeed," he replies easily, his hand dropping to his side again. "Tell me, little one... What is your name, and what are you doing in a place like this?"

Ginny blushed as she found herself watching the woman's large breasts trying to escape from her red silk dress as she walked over. She continued to stare as the red-haired seductress started to eat, blushing at the unwanted feeling of this woman being her Mother. "When you turn me back... will my thoughts go back to normal too?", she asked in a shy voice. "It feels like... y-you're my Mother... but not quite", she blushed, remembering the kiss. "What did you do to my mind?".

Jame's grip becomes even tighter as the strange shapes appear in the trees and the stones begin levitating. His eyes don't sit still for the smallest instant and her slowly turns as he moves, making any possibility of a back attack difficult.

They're messing with me...

He bumps into the fountain and sits on the edge, looking into the dried-up thing.

Ovvar gives the man one more nod, "...thank you." He glances in the distance of the castle, then back to his friend. He replies, "...it might come to that. It is not a jump of logic to know that the spirits predate the city... very likely at least... ...and so therefore are very likely to out last. Peace, in all reality, should be maintained." He looks to the ground with a slight look of uncertainty, "...perhaps it is we people who are just visitors..."

A few of seconds pass of silence, and to the bold Ovvar it feels like ages, he finally breaks the quietness with a murmur "...the Church either needs to assist... or the king must be convinced this campaign is folly..."

"I'm Annie! I'm totally going to save the kingdom and stuff!" She giggles, smiling.

Behind over at his seat at the table, Gol rolls his eyes. "Got a new girlfriend do ya?"

Annie sticks her tongue out at him. "Just you wait! I'll totally spank you and stuff!"

The seductress smiles. "Your just in love with me... when you became young, that love became less... physical... and more daughterly." She pats Ginny on the head lightly. "Now finish up so we can get going." She turns back to her own breakfast.

Looking at the fountain is certainly more calming than staring at the shifting mist. It focuses him enough to hear a clicking... a hollow clacking like bone and metal... coming closer. Should he look up, one of the shapes in the mist dosent seem to melt away... and looks like the shape of a man.

The Old Man smiles. "Well if the Church could be convinced to go through with its crusade... but with a different foe that might restore order. Or start a full scale war with the spirits. As it is now, only the Dark Souls are against us. Should the Church intervene... all of the souls in Watchwood would rise up against them."

"As for convincing Arleigh... well if you wanted to get a audience with him, I hear he is inviting those who become victorious in the Arena to Castle Overwatch."

Kyle spins around and draws his bow, pointing it at the advancing figure!

Ginny had known she had love for the woman, wether created through dark magic or not, it was there, and strong enough to make her heart itself feel heavy. She also knew it had changed when the woman had made her younger, but to hear these two things said aloud still felt quite a shock. It sent a chill down her spine to think this woman was capable of changing people's dreams and desires with her magic. She swallowed a deep breath, thinking of her own daughter, who was only a couple of years younger than her now. "I... I have a daughter...", she said nervously after swallowing a mouthful of food. "What will happen to her?".

Ovvar peers at the man for a few moments. Over the course of the conversation his resolve had been sundered, and his plans destroyed. Despite all of this however, it looks like he just had a lack of information. He nods to the man, "...it is a war we want to avoid. Conflict only sows chaos and discord..." Ovvar extends a hand over, "...thank you for everything. Where the spirits might not have listened, I have." He adds, "...winning the Arena will be a trifle matter. I will speak to the king, and discover all that I can."

His course of action is still the same, to win the Arena, however his purpose is quite different. Instead of seeking to being a fighter for the king, he will be an envoy of balance.

From the mist, a person appears... well it used to be a person. Dressed in battered but unrusted armor, a long sword sheathed at its side, a skeleton regards him coldly. Its eye sockets shining with a faint white light under its helmet. It dosent open its mouth, but still a voice speaks.

"I am the guardian of the City of the Dead. What is your purpose, intruder?"

The demon woman hmms. "Is that so... if you want I could take her under my wing... raise her as my own. You two would look cute together." She grins.

Blindsense wrote:"...Right," Nergal chuckles. "And why do you want to save the kingdom, little one?"

"Because Daddy says it will bring recognition to our people and stuff! And I hear the king is giving out all kinds of treasure too!"

Gol stares a bit more at the little girl... then stares hard at the torch behind her. He goes back to his food. "I'd leave that girl alone if I was you, boy... you don't know what yer messin with."

The girl looks over. "Oooo! Did you guess what I am? Did ya? Did ya?"

Gol takes a bite of a chicken leg, gnawing it without answering.

James lowers his bow slightly, but doesn't take the arrow out, regarding the former human with a cold stare.

"My name is James. I was advised to come here by a Warden."
