The Coffee House.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Hey, I never said I could get rid of the vampire. I merely..." She spread her hands, smiling innocently. "...implied it, shall we say? Though I guess the crosses are kind of a give-away, aren't they? Oh, the trials of us fashionable types...." She pseudo-dramatically laid the back of one hand across her forehead and sighed in imitation of a swoon, still grinning. "And hey, you'd be surprised what I've learned how to do in these boots.... I do use powers more, yes, but you don't want to be on the recieving end of a stomp or punt from one of these suckers. As for my parents..."
She hunched a shoulder, looking rather more serious. "I... actually don't know for sure where they disappeared. It was on a mission. They'd taken me out with them before, but this one was very mysterious, and thus considered highly dangerous. So they insisted I stay behind. I'm the only heir, after all. I was left unclear exactly where they were going, as well, obviously, they weren't expecting to not return.... I just felt that a place this big had to be a good source for clues on their possible whereabouts."

[Teddy]

Gennosuke chuckled at Elise. "Well then. Cities are good places to find people... Or disappear for good off the face of the earth." He sat the chair down and dug for his wallet. "Hey, Neko! How much for the coffee?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise propped her chin on her hand. "Glad I amuse you.... So, how about you? I practically told you my life story. So it's only fair that you return the favor. You from around these parts, just passing through, or here for some greater purpose? A nefarious one, perhaps?..." She wiggled her eyebrows playfully, drinking the last of her coffee.

[Teddy]

"Nah! I'm not really that bad of a guy. I'm just here to, well... Get away from my dad. He keeps going on about how our family has kept a demon sealed for generations and I need to purify the gate. Frankly? I don't care... Old man did nothin' for me but teach me martial arts."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Hm. Sealing a demon for generations? Sounds like a constantly loaded gun, if you ask me. Just asking for trouble. You do realize that eventually that guy's probably going to break free, don't you? And when he does, he's going to be royally ticked off. Big-time. Then you'll have to clean up the mess.... Should have just banished him right off and had done with it.... But martial arts, huh? What kind? Or kinds."

[Teddy]

"Well, first that demons gonna go after my dad... But, after that, yeah, it'll be my problem." He sighed, focused a bit, a nearly purple flame appearing on the tip of his finger. "This. It's part of my family's style: The Takarabe style. Allows us to channel our 'inner fire'. I also know a bit of Tae Kwon Do as well as a few varients of chinese boxing."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise leaned towards the tiny flame, eyes growing wide. "Wow... that's something! How do you do that?" She grabbed the hand and pulled it closer, studying his finger as though in search of a hidden source or something. "Amazing.... And Chinese boxing, huh? Bet I could pick up a few things off you. I've toyed with a bit of Tae Kwon Do, myself.... Mind you, all the kicks are harder in these boots. But I'm trying to figure out ways to work around that." All the while, she's still studying the tiny purple flame.

Genno laughs, the flame turning red. "Never met someone who really was interested in my style, or even LEARNING something from me. I never thought I was really that special."

(I have... And she's a bit creepy lookin'. <_<)

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Wow, you can make it change color? Even better!" She tilted her head to the side, studying it with continued amazement. "And hey, everyone's special to soem degree or another, right? Even that boy still drooling in the corner over there. He seems pretty special to the kitty-waitress, anyway.... But back to this flame here. How do you do it? Can I learn?"

OOC: Creepy-looking? Rats! I was going for cute.... I'm disappointed. I didn't get the result I wanted. Must've been the uber-gothic look.

[Teddy]

"Well, I can only do it after 12 years of training so intense I think I STILL have wounds from. But, I think you could do it... And it changes colors with my mood. If I'm serious, it's darker and bluish in color. If I'm joking around or having a good time, it'll be red."

(I'm not much for the lolita style, sorry. Or crosses.)

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Well, it's red now, so it looks like that speaks well for me! Let's just hope I never give you cause to make it go dark.... Sort of like having a mood ring you can summon at will, huh? I guess if I spent all my life studying spirit works with my parents, I could at least give this a go. It probably won't work, but what do you do in your head to make it turn on like that?"

OOC: I'm not much into crosses either, truth be told. It's a common aspect of the style, but I'd always gone out of my way to avoid it before, because I typically only like the Celtic ones, with the ring near the center. But she was inspired by a character generator, the exact results being now posted in my art thread, and the way it was phrased led me to that stylistic element. I had outside forces that inspired me to create her the way I did, essentially. I have thee other outfits in mind for her too that I might color at a later date, though only one of them uses the motif as prominently as you see in this design.

[Teddy]

Genno shrugged. "It's kinda of an instinct. Like an animal with it's claws... And no, I don't think you could make it go dark if ya tried. It takes alot to make my flame turn blue."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise laughed. "Well, that's good to know, at least!... I don't get mad too easily, myself, though I'm told I can be scary when I am. And so it's instinct, huh? I'll have to try it out and see what happens...." She put her left hand- the one she'd been favoring all evening, incidentally- in the same position his had been in, closed her eyes, and concentrated, seeking the same sort of energy she used to get in touch with the spirit world, to draw it out in that one concentrated little spot.... One eye half-opened, squint-peeking to check on her progress. "Is it working?..."

[Teddy]

Gennosuke laughed and nearly fell out of his chair. "Sorry to say, but nope! I don't think anyone other than those who have gone through the training the Takarabe's and our 'cousins' can use the flame like we can."

[Mistress Guendolen]

She gave a one-shouldered shrug. "Oh well. I really didn't think it would. But hey, I just had to try. Y'know, Mom always told me that 'just having to try' might get me in trouble someday.... But it hasn't yet, so I won't worry about that bridge till it's time to cross it. At least I keep amusing you, if nothing else. Maybe I should undertake a second career as a comedian! Though most people don't laugh as much as you...."
