[Blaze]

"You'll never know. They test potential recruits in secret without them even knowing it was a test. If they pass, they get offered a chance to join, but you don't get to see their faces until you do. There was a period where their identities were known, but no one would trust them, so they remain a secret." Dana's mom explains.

[Zoey]

Dana nods and drops into a cold sweat. "Ummm.... I- I didn't know this was so.... organized...."

[Blaze]

"Well we have to be! One bad egg could take down an entire police force and use their powers for evil." Flo says.

"The Kin also take down those of us like that." Dana's mom adds.

[Zoey]

Dana blinks more, now even more nervous! "I... I see..." .___.;;;;;

[Blaze]

"So that's why you need to remain calm. If you lose control, they'll take you down." Flo says firmly.

"Anyway, training. We'll start with some basic combat drills."

[Zoey]

Dana just nods and frowns. "R-Right...."

[Blaze]

"What's wrong? Psyching yourself out hearing all that?" Alysha asks, not looking all that confident herself.

[Zoey]

Dana glares. "Shut it, that warning can apply to you too" she replies with a frown.

[Blaze]

Alysha just smiles.

"Look... we're family. We gotta stick together. So... apologies for any grief I caused you."

She offers Dana her hand to shake!

[Zoey]

Dana squints at Alysha and glances down at her hand... then back at her. "...sure......" she says very cold being careful of any tricker before shaking her hand.

[Blaze]

No tricks, just a friendly handshake! Alysha smiles and nods as Flo and Dana's mom leads them back out into the entrance hall. A sizable group of people all seem to be moving into another one of the halls!

"Oh right... we gotta do this first girls." Flo says with a sigh.

[Zoey]

Dana follows and looks confused as she turns to aunt Flo. "What do you mean?" she replies squinting her eyes suspiciously.

[Blaze]

"Oh, just a ceremony to show off the new generation. You'll have to go up to." Dana's mom says

"It's basically so the elders can pat each other on the back for keeping us going this long." Flo mutters.

[Zoey]

Dana blushes, her hands pulling down her skirt. "Great... this will be fun" ./////. she says obviously sarcastic. She turns to Alysha. "You go in first" >_>;;;;

[Blaze]

Alysha shrugs and enters, followed by Flo and Dana's mom.

If Dana follows she finds herself in a large auditorium, like the kind she has at school, except everything is hewn from stone. Several people, mostly women but some men too are sitting in the rows, looking down at a stage where an elderly women is speaking in a strong clear voice about something to do with the family funds.
