Getting Sneak Up

Marlie sits down. She hopes Carmen won't be mad if she stays.

"So what did you do after school?" her mom asks.

"Oh so you are a friend of Carmen?" asked Carmen's mom as she served Marlie a simple plate of beans, rice and some sort of meat. "Come and eat!"

Carmen's dad could be heard coming down the hallway.

"Umm...I went to go hang out with a friend," said Allison as she soften her voice.

Marlie sits and looks at it unsure if she should eat it yet "You could say that. I'm a kind Of friend."

Carmen slowly begins to eat. Her dad had came in and took a seat. He takes a tortitia and began to eat. He stares at Marlie a bit before eating.

"Umm...No. She is somebody from work," said Allison as she was eating.

"Yeah..." said Allison as she eats. "Mom...have you ever gotten in a fight with a friend before?"

"Um we met on Saturday." Marlie remarks. She was starting to wonder if her parents did t know Carmen was gay. Could this be why she didn't want her over.

"All good relationships will have fighting" her mom tells her. "This is more about you and Marlie?"

"Umm...yeah. She was avoiding me a lot during school today," said Allison as she was chewing on a fry.

"I hope so," said Allison as she sighs a bit and finish her food.
