(Vivek, Vanya, Shor'ti, Man, and Sebastian open fire; 9 hits, 5 wounds)
Through either good luck or steely discipline, the group's lasguns tore through the swarm, leaving dozens of the tiny creatures utterly scorched and dead among the badly charred halls. A small remainder wriggle forward relentlessly, however, and dove for the eldar the moment they were in range.
(Close combat: Eldar 1 hit, no wound. Rippers 1 hit, no wound)
(Second round: Eldar 1 hit, no wound. Sebastian 1 hit, 1 wound)
Viciously snapping, the tiny fanged rippers tried to drag down the Eldar, who fired desperately point-blank with their lasguns to fend off the swarming creatures.
In a moment, Sebastian stepped forward to the attack, crushing the remaining Tyranids underfoot before the Kroot mercenary got the chance.
Sebastian gave the aliens a withering look for a moment, then snorted. "Fragmentation weapons should have a greater effect upon swarming creatures. Keep that in mind."
In the meantime, Marcus scoured the armory, but was extremely disappointed; evidently the traitors had had ample time to equip themselves before this area was overrun, meaning that most of the gear was either defending the generator core, or being chewed on by aliens.
In the section for combat gear there were only two fragmentation grenades left, three lasguns and laspistols, three chainswords, and four flak vests. Helpful, no doubt, and at least all the equipment was in good condition, but far from ideal.
Looking beyond the weaponry provided a little more hope; there was a pair of small personal medkits along with a small set of tools for maintaining equipment; neither would be any good for fixing any serious damage, but they were much better than nothing.
(Chainswords: Chainswords are close combat weapons, and confer no special bonus, although you can use your proficiency feats with them)
(Flak vest: 6+ armor save)
(Personal medkit: Allows use of the medic skill to heal wounds; two uses per kit)
(Small toolset: Allows use of the repair skill without penalties)
The hissing snarl of more Tyranids came from around the corner; while the traitors were obviously concentrating their defense around the core, the Tyranids evidently had no clear plan for their assault, and were spread around the ship.
