Hybrid Adventures 2 (Closed)

5 years have passed since the Hybrid organization defeated Arceus in battle. After the mass exposure from all of the events back then, the hybrids stopped hiding their presence.

Humans, faced with the existence of new beings, were faced with conflicting emotions. Some feared what the Hybrids could do. Others looked at them and saw nothing more than creatures. Some feared they may become one, and others hoped they would.

This has made the last few years quite tense. People living their lives, knowing they may become a hybrid and have their entire existence changed.

At the same time, The Hybrids have been growing steadily, more members joining each day. This has lead to what was once a small organization to becoming the size of a city, completely safe from humans and any other foes the Hybrids may have.

I am Casey Hill, a resident of Grasscoral Town. Never heard of it? Not many people have. This granted us a quiet and peaceful environment in which to go about our lives. About two years ago however that all changed.
We were all aware of the existence of the hybrids, the whole world did and after the ensuing witch hunt was stopped in a co-operative effort between both hybrids and humans, the hybrids were left alone. The Hybrid Organization, however, was a different matter. When they arrived at our doorstep it was the first time we had seen hybrids with our own eyes and after the initial curiosity, we let them just like we did anyone else. However, this peace did not last long. Before we knew it, the Hybrids had taken the town hall and everyone in it hostage and were demanding money, fuel and food for their safety, until they demanded again.
No one knows who struck the first blow but after about a month, one of the hybrids was found dead outside old Dorric's forge. A hybrid is meant to be stronger and faster than your average human, but no-one can survive a blow to the head from the blacksmith's hammer. Doric himself claimed that the man had barged into his forge during the night, obviously under the influence of alcohol and began to destroy it (this was not the first report of such an event, but the town was too scared to do anything), in the struggle that took place when the old blacksmith tried to kick the rogue out, it had gotten out of hand and Dorric was forced to strike in self-defense.
The next day, the hybrids dragged Dorric in front of them and burned his forge to the ground. The punishment allocated to him was execution, but by this point it had gone too far. Led by the younger men of the town, a small uprising was started and through sheer numbers the town succeeded in driving the hybrids out. However, the leader of the hybrid group was nothing like the others, who were hybrids in name alone. His power was pure and trained, no human could hope to stand up to him and before long the hybrids were back, with strange needle devices in hand. Those struck by the needles changed within the hour, their bodies twisting until they were no longer the humans they once were, among those change were my parents.

That is when she came. A girl who must have been barely in her teens walked into the town. Her hair was pure white and was broken by a large black, scythe-shaped protrusion that seemed to come from her right ear and curled round to the back of her head. Her clothing, while it seemed was of good quality and make, was worn and tattered as though she had been wandering the world for a long time. Following her was a young girl, who seemed to have nothing odd about her at all other than the rags she wore as clothing. Both seemed tired and hungry but when the hybrids took a look at the girl, all but the leader fled and even his face was fearful.

"Why are you here" said the girl, her voice though quiet and calm, held a deep contempt for the man in front of her.

"This is my territory" said the leader, "I took it, it is mine."

"This place looks like it was already occupied" said the girl

"What? By these vermin? They barely have the right to live, nevermind have their own land."

"Will you leave quietly? Or will I have to force you out?"

"I'm not afraid of you, deserter."

The larger man drew in a breath and spat a fireball at the girl, who did not move, but stopped it in one hand. The big guy took a nervous step back and fired another. The girl simply stepped aside as the flames hurtled past her. The larger man turned to run but the girl was on him in an instant, taking out his legs and slamming him to the ground with her foot as he fell. She looked down on the beaten hybrid, her foot on his throat.

"Are you ready to leave yet?" she asked, her voice still calm

The man nodded as frantically as he could until the strange girl lifted her foot. In an instant he scrambled to his feet and ran as fast as his legs could carry him.

Silently, the girl turned away and continued to walk while her companion hurried back to her side.

"Wait" called one of the townsfolk, "How can we thank you?"

"There is no need." said the girl, "They should never have been here in the first place. This should not have had to happen."

"But we cannot just take your aid for granted" said the townsman, "It would bring us shame not to give you something in return."

The girl turned around and peered into the crowd with her dark, lonely eyes. "In that case" she said, "Food and a place to stay would be appreciated."

I learned later that the girl was a hybrid who had disassociated herself with nearly all the others of her kind. She did not say it, but it was implied that she did not part with them on particularly good terms. The group that had troubled our town were Houndour hybrids led by a Houndoom and were from the organization most hybrids belonged to but seemed to be acting without orders, little more than bandits.

Her name was Absol, but she had recently acquired a new one, Abbie, which had been given to her by her traveling partner. The girl she had brought with her was named Spi, she seemed to be human but one of her eyes hinted something else in the way it swirled hypnotically. She wore something around her neck on an old piece of rope. I never saw what it was as she always kept it held tight in her hand and if anyone even appeared to come near it she would back away from them nervously.

Oddly enough, the pair are still around. They told us they were looking for somewhere peaceful and out of the way where they could stay for a while, and this town certainly fits that bill. An old, derelict cottage about a kilometer outside the town was renovated for her while in return, her presence would keep away any other troublemakers that would otherwise cause the town grief.

As for me, I remained human after the attack, however the needle wound in my arm tells me that it should be otherwise. When I was young, a long string of sicknesses revealed an odd trait in my genetic structure. Apparently all the cells in my body, with the exception of by red blood cells, have a cell wall similar to those found on plant cells or bacteria microbes. While you would think this would give my immune system an advantage, it slows down the effectiveness of my white blood cells in attacking intruders and creating antibodies, rendering any advantage the wall gives moot against most infections. Whether this has anything to do with my retained humanity is a mystery to me, but if it is, then is it really a blessing? Would I really want to stay different than my parents and most of my friends?

Two years have passed since then and while the tension between races seems to have remained a problem outside, here, in our local community, life goes on as it always has. Many of the villagers are still highly suspicious of outsiders, (especially that hybrid girl who occasionally comes to visit Abbie and Spi, there is something odd about her that I just can't put my finger on) but even that is starting to die down now. Little did I know that something was about to happen that would shake apart not only my life, but the lives of those around me.

OOC:WOOT! First post....*cough*

*Erin and Leo wake up. They are now a happily married couple. They got married two years ago and since then, they have gotten stronger. In fact Leo has two forms. He can now freely switch between Lila and Leo. He is currently in his Leo form. He kisses his Wife Passionately as they wake up for another day of doing whatever.*

*Erin goes into the restroom and gets dressed. She now looks like this. She is also wearing the outfit in the picture.*

"Leo-Kun any idea what to do now? It has been a bit too quiet for my taste for the past five years." Erin said as she came out of the restroom dressed for the day.

"I know it sure has Erin-Chan. Ever since Arceus was defeated, it has been really boring around here." Leo said.

"So, I guess this is my new hunting ground, huh? Looks like a dump. I bet I won't even make a dollar from all the houses here combined." Oliver muttered, taking another swig from his can of soda as he surveyed Grasscoral Town from the top of a nearby hill. Normally he went about with his thieving escapades in larger, more wealthy cities, but things have changed over the past few years. The Hybrid scare.... He didn't have anything against them personally, but their presence has made it harder and harder for him to make enough cash to survive.

"Ever since they showed up, security's been beefed up everywhere! I can't even go out in the streets without the cops breathing down my neck, for Christ's sake! UGH!" The boy pounded his fist on the jeep he was sitting on and let out a grunt of frustration. "Huff.... Gotta relax, gotta calm down.... I'm only snooping around here for a little bit. Things will get back to normal, right? People will get used to it.... I hope."

Over the last few months, Casey had come into some contact with the mysterious girls who lived outside the village. When the pair had arrived, the town saw very little of Absol, who only appeared to purchase provisions and saw nothing of Spi. Apparently she was shy to the extreme and avoided anyone she didn't trust. The only time Casey had seen the girl outside of the land surrounding her house, was one evening when he saw her dancing in the graveyard, laughing as though she were at some sort of festival. When she spotted him she stopped and ran, but just for a second, he caught a glimpse of the thing the girl wore around her neck. It was a stone, old and dark imprinted with a strange symbol. The top of the stone was cracked open and just for a second, it seemed to radiate a cold blue glow.
The older girl, Absol, was a quiet, distant character. She rarely interacted with people and seemed to be haunted by something from her past. Casey decided it would be better to leave that subject alone, there were some places you really didn't want to go. Either way, she was friendly enough and after that other girl had visited a couple of times, she informed us that the village would be left to it's own devices by orders of one of the higher ups in the Hybrid Organisation.

Casey wandered the countryside. It was nice out here in the early evening as the sun set. The sky was painted red as the shadows of the town spread far into the distance. Looking around he saw someone else on a nearby hill but payed them no mind, many people from the town came for walks like this, they were probably just another.

*Brian Branson was out exploring Pallet Town. It had grown quite a bit in the last five years, heck it has even grown quite a bit in the two years he has been gone on his Pokemon Journey.*

"The sign still says Pallet Town, but it's beginning to look a bit more like a city. I wonder how Professor Oak is doing. Maybe I should go see what is new at the lab." Brian said as he headed toward the Oak Laboratory.

Oliver stared at Casey, his eyes slowly scanning over the lad's form for anything that seemed the slightest bit valuable. There didn't seem to be anything that seemed of any worth on him.... Probably one of the hicks living in this dump town. Maybe he could give him some info? Oliver barely knew anything about this middle-of-nowhere place anyway....

"Yo', you over there! Mind helping me out here?" He called out. "I just got here, and I'm a bit lost. Y'mind showing me around a bit?"

"Ahh Celadon City, still as casino-ish and loud...and quite green..." Andy said as he walked through the city just really doing nothing at this point.

"Man what a boring day." Mel said as she walked through the base thinking about unmentioned past events.

A figure walks through the hallway and into Aiko's office. He's wearing all black, with yellow rings on the knees of his pants, the front of his shirt, and the elbows of a long black jacket he's wearing. "Heard you wanted to see me, Boss." #197 says, smirking. "Some more newbies activating?"

Aiko nods. " yes hun they shall very soon. Remember we do not use force anymore but." she seems to think for a bit as if sensing something was coming. " Your sister ask her to come see me when they awaken There will be one only she can take care of."
