After careful consideration and thinking, I am now opening up "They Don't Pay Enough" to applications.

Summary: A group of five Marines is aboard the E.S.S. Cavalier, a Heavy Frigate designated to patrol and explore the far frontier of space. This group of Marines is the resident Marine Corp detachment assigned to the ship, whose primary purposes are planet reconnaissance, crew drills, fighter piloting, and everything else unsuited for the ship's standard security crew. Of course, this is the first time they've been assigned to the frontier, so who knows what could happen...?

Application Process: Everybody with an interest in applying to be a part of this RP will need to fill out an application (template below) and send it to me via PM. This guarantees being considered, but does not guarantee a spot in the RP as this is not first-come first-serve. On Sunday, February 8 the marines will be selected and on Monday, February 9 the RP will begin.

Character Information - Backstory
Born from a working class family, and having to support his two younger sisters, Rob couldn't afford to go to college on his own funds. His high grades, especially when chemicals were involved, got him a scholarship which was lost when he accidentally blew up one of the undergrad labs. The Marine Corps offered an attractive option : if he signed up for a five years contract, His tuition would be paid, allowing him to graduate while he received combat training on the week-ends and holidays.

After graduation, he started his first mission with a minor peace-keeping operation as a rookie minesweeper. This is his second mission and, while he is not known as gun-happy, he hopes to play with explosives instead of defusing them.

Character Information - Back story
Despite technically being only 25% Irish descent, he somehow inherited all his grandmothers typical Irish physical traits from freckles to pale sun burning skin. Born as the 4th child of a upper income family, he lived like any other youth with 3 older brothers. As a result of getting beat up by his sibling on a tri-daily basis he quickly got into martial arts excelling in multiple forms to the point that by the time he was 13 his eldest brother in the military made a note to never pick a fight with him again. He was expected as with all his siblings to serve a military service per family tradition being from a old household. As such he attended a military academy entering directly into the marines post graduation only to end up in a non-hostile locations per his first tour via his parents influence. Being extremely displeased that his parents were interfering with his life, he made it in no uncertain terms that he wanted to do things like everyone else and not be pushed through, whether or not he will regret this decision will be seen.

Endo always wanted to travel into the infinite final frontier known as space. Ever since he witnessed the launch of R&D cruiser "Helios" from his hometown at the age of 8, he wondered what it would be like to explore the vast black expanse. For the majority of his life, however, his desire to sail through the cosmos was to remain a silly childhood dream. The odds were against him: He lacked the skills, he lacked the social connections, and, most of all, he lacked the wealth. What chance did he, a lowly car shop repairman, have of going into space, let alone even getting into a spaceship?

It was by some miraculous stroke of luck that he was called by the Marine Corps and offered a chance to join in a mission to deep space. To say the least, he was astonished that he, of all people, was chosen. Those few years he spent training for the Army Reserve Corps must have paid off somehow!

Character Information - Backstory
Inacio "Sal" Salazar is the epitome of someone with a troubled past. He practically grew up stealing cars. His true calling came though when a cousin got him into robbery. He took to it like a duck to water, robbing drug dealers, homes and banks. He was called on numerous times to set up the explosives to crack the different safes they were getting into, but he always felt the best when the heat was on and he got to shoot people. He's spent time in and out of prison, having been tried as an adult many times but never sentenced for more than a few months. He made sure to have friends in low places. However, he got tired of running from the law and decided to make an honest living out of killing people. So he joined the marines. His savage disposition more than carried him through boot camp, and now that he's on his first assignment, he's more than ready to crack some heads.
