Cresting one final hill you see spread out before you a rather large body of water. The lake of blood, aptly named it seems as the water is indeed blood red. A road you could assume was travelled at one time, is now overgrown and covered in weeds and vegetation. If you squint you can faintly make out an island at the middle of the lake.

Frey headed towards the lake, traversing the overgrown road. "I wonder... What would be on an island in the middle of a blood-red lake? Nothing good of course..."

An observant individual would note that there are no ripples or waves on the water, despite a gentle breeze blowing. Other then that all seems quiet.

"Ooookay. That's a bit weird, but I think I've been in worse situations... But then again, I didn't have this curse." Frey continued, slower now, watching for the worst.

"Or, something crawled out of the lake." Frey, obviously more nervous than he was showing, drew his blade, and continued.

You see it coming from aways off. This creature seems to be part human, part fish. It reaches out for you with large clawed/webbed hands, making a horrible schlurping noise as it comes.

Frey, not being the nicest guy, nor the most understanding, took his sword and quickly attempted to slice off the things hands.

Said hands are severed quite handily (hehe, get it?) and it falls to it's knees gurgling in pain.

"Ah, then, this should be easy." And with that, Frey lopped off the things head, cleaned his blade with a cloth, and sheathed it. "They die just like everything else. Quite messily." He chuckled to himself and started back towards the lake.

The creature dies in a shower of gurgling and various disgusting sounds and emissions. You arrive at the edge of the lake without further incident.

"All right, that out of the way... Now, for this lake." Frey grabbed whatever was handy, and tossed it into the lake, seeing how the water splashed.

The ohh...stick hits the water with a rather thick sportchy splash. And floats a bit still.

"Now that, that looks and sounds like blood. Now, to look for a ferry-man, or a raft. Or something..." And so our intrepid anti-hero started to circle the lake, looking for anything that could take him to the island without having to touch the lake.

You look about the lake...and some ways along the shore of it you see another pair of the fish monsters, a boat nearby them.
