*The streets of the city... Or a little 'bridge' between threads. The streets among most of the city are crowded, but not so much around the coffee shop... The two would eventually find the wonders of the large city. And it's not too sane inhabitants. It's mainly students around where Genno and Elise step out of the shop and into the streets of the large city.*

He stopped then turned back to Elise. "'Aight, fine miss shortie. Now.. I think I've wasted all of my good luck running into you, so, please point out which way we should go."

(Do what you'd like to edit/add to the streets Sky/Gwen/anybody. I'm basically firing a shot in the dark here. XD)

"Shortie, is it? Well, now you know why I wear these boots.... They give me a good extra three inches or so! Hmm, not sure which way to go.... I just know I should have grabbed a paper or something. How does one go about finding apartments for rent in a new city, anyway? I know the hotel I got a room at last night is just down the road there-" she pointed left- "but other than that, I really haven't learned where anything is...." She tapped her chin, studying the possible directions thoughtfully, trying to decide which one might be the best choice.

"A hotel's only gonna help for one night or so... An apartment's gonna help for at least a month. Are ya sure you didn't pass any on your way to the coffee shop?" Genno shifted his weight from one leg to another, obviously restless.

"Hmm, now you mention it, I did see a couple buildings that could have been apartments.... But then, they also could have been offices. Either way, at least it gives us a start. No harm in looking to see whether they're apartment buildings with places available, is there?"

Gennosuke shook his head. "No harm at all... Lead the way Elise. You know where these buildings are gonna be."

"Well, I've got a basic idea, anyway.... Let's just hope I don't get us hopelessly lost!" At that she headed down the street, watching for signs and indicators for anything that might be an apartment building.

Gennosuke followed her, hoping that she had a good sense of direction. Soon though, it became apparent that the two of them were... Hopelessly lost.

Elise turned in a circle, trying to get her bearings. "But... I was sure it was a straight shot! I don't remember making any turns or anything like that on the way out.... But- do you have any idea where we are? Because I most certainly don't.... We'd better find our way out before it gets dark, though luckily that's not going to be for hours yet...."

"Uh... I THINK I know where we are. I mean, I did go through the slums ta get to the coffee shop. This looks like the slums to me... Though the thugs I beat might not be the happiest of people."

"Slums?" Elise swallowed. "Okay, that's not really what I needed to hear right now.... We must have gone the completely opposite direction from where I came from! I think we'd better try to get out of here as soon as possible.... Just- I think just retracing our steps should do it...."

"All right then." He turned, gently pushing Elise in front of him, and slowly started back towards the coffee shop, which they reached in a little bit, without incident.

"Okay, well, um, you didn't need to, you know, nudge me along like that, you know...." She took another look around. "Still, it feels good to be out of that particular neighbrohood. Now we know which direction not to go in, in the future.... Since that's obviously out, I guess we should try the other way, now. I mean, it was a fifty-fifty shot, after all."

"So, our luck's starting to run out? It was inevitable.... But, we'll manage." Gennosuke started down the other route, whistling a strange tune to himself.

Elize hustled to keep up with him. "We'll manage? I guess so. We really don't have much else to go on as of now, after all." She scanned the buildings, looking for anything that could lead to either an apartment or potential employment. "Say, what's that song? You know, you're whistling. I'vbe never heard it before. Or is it just sort of improvised?"

(Okay, I'd wondered what had happened to you.... Internet does act up sometimes. Did you get my message with the picture? If not, I'll re-send it.)

Genno stopped whistling and turned on Elise, walking backwards. "Well, it's an old tune that my family sings during festivals... It's pretty old and tells the tale of the first Takarabe and his wife, who was a spiritual exorcist... And together they sealed the demon I've already told you about."
