The Nuclear Base/Power Plant.

Two soldiers, wearing the unique red dress uniforms of the Salva City guards, sit guarding the south entrance to the Nuclear Base/Power Plant that provides enough power to fuel the sins against nature that so fill this city. Frankensteian monsters, resurrection machines. Only the very atom can provide such power. Plus, they have to disarm all the nukes that keep lying around.

The left guy turns to the right. "Do you ever get nervous that our shirts are red?"

The right guy shrugs. "We're not under Captain Kirk, so I'm fine."

The left guy looks unimpressed. "Actually, the brass did a switch-up. We are now under Captain Cody Kenneth Kirk the third."

The right guy laughs. "Try saying that three times fast."

The left guy sharpens his bayonet. "Do I have to watch Red Vs. Blue for ideas? And read the comics? 'Cause I already got rid of your left..."

The right guy cocks his gun. "That was YOU!"

The left guy smiles. "We're on duty, and I don't have to sleep anymore, thanks to a neat little cybernetic implant."

The right soldier ponders numerous curse words, but none seem sufficient.

Genno approached the base, holding onto Elise's hand the whole way. Still out of eyesight of those at the base, he finally stopped. "...I vote the east entrance. It seems... Lucky."

Xiao walked up cautiously, "It really depends on how we want to enter, if you want to get in stealthily then we should split up and each take one, it is harder to detect an individual than a group and you can move faster while unhindered."

Elise was feeling distinctly happier than one would normally expect, given the circumstances. But her talk with Genno before leaving had put her in distinctly good spirits. Not to mention that they held hands the whole way there.... She was seriously contemplating not wearing her gloves anymore. After all, they would to some degree get in the way of this pleasant sensation of hand-holding....
It took a bit of effort for her to bring her mind back to the present situation. "If we split up, it ought to be into pairs, given that there are four of us," she said. "One person can sneak in more easily, but at the same time, complete solitude makes you more vulnerable. If you have a partner, if something goes wrong the others will be less likely to be left hanging or for you to be completely stuck." Besides, even though she wasn't voicing this, she was still worried about letting Genno out of her sight.... I told him I'd be a protective girlfriend. So I'm not about to let him get hurt again- not when I can be there to help him.

Here's the set-up of the base. As I said before, it has four entrances, with the north and south entrances the most public. Genno's 'lucky' thing was right, since the East and West entrances both border forest. They're probably used for manuvers and training. The east entrance is just forest, with a mountain in the distance, while the west entrance actually leads, via a forest path, to a nearby paintball field. Military soldiers terrorize anyone foolish enough to challenge them, and are the most feared team. All entrances have a good distance of space between the beginning of the forest and the actual entrance, while the North and South each have roads. With the distance between the forest and the actual entrance, it's very easy for the military to shoot first and ask questions never. Not to mention that they are armed with incidiary grenades. The EPA doesn't know about the grenades, which is probably for the best.

Of course, there was also the fact that the Neko-Jin they were looking for, consisting of The Boss, Teacher's Pet, Catnip, Yankee Rose, and Tetsuo-chan had teleported into the west entrance, with Rose holding a sniper rifle, and Tetsuo carrying a big briefcase full of ammo. Scientia was going to teleport inside in case of emergencies.

Neko, meanwhile, ponders something. "I definitely vote for sneaking in, since I'm a bit worried some of them might remember me. Or still have shoot on sight orders..."

"Shoot on sight?... Why didn't you say something about this earlier?! We could've tried to find some sort of disguise for you! You know, a long coat to hide your tail and a hat to tuck your ears under or something. Though sneaking in probably would be best, yes. Thing is, what do we do once we're inside?... We really should have made a plan on the way here."

"Can't be helped now.... So, I'll try to figure one out now. The mage and Neko can take the west, Elise and I the east. Two priorities. 1? Stop the cat-girls at ALL costs. 2? Live. However, the first is the most important."

Neko shrugged. "I didn't remember it. I think somebody mentioned it when I was in the mental institution learning why taking over the city wasn't very nice. As for when we get there, I'd say we find out where the Neko-Jin are going to attack and defend it. Or break it so they can't get it."

"Why don't we try to combine those two plans? If we go off into two groups, we can find out where they're likely to attack faster. If we can find a way to comunicate with each other.... I wish we had walkie-talkies or something like that.... Whoever finds it first can alert the other team, and from there we can reunite. And everyone is to keep themselves alive. Got it? Especially you," she said with a sidelong glance at Genno. "You asked me to stop you from doing anything stupid, and I plan to hold myself to that."

Neko ponders, looking down at the ground. "What teams? We can have Genno and Elise, Me and Xiao. That would mean that the two love-birds are on one team. Me and Genno, Elise and Xiao might work. Me and Elise, Genno and Xiao. I'm fond of the last one. That would mean we have one direct attacker, and one support on each team. Or, we could do four teams, one for each entrance. Not a fan of that one."

"Me neither. I don't like the idea of each of us working alone. And whatever is wrong with Genno and I being a team?" She plunked her hands on her hips. "It's still one primary and one back-up working together, right?"

Neko smiles with a chesire grin. "Last time I tried to do something with people I was romantically interested in, we didn't get much work done, and I ended up in nice padded cell. Of course, it might have been the sunbeam, or the pillow. Mm...sunbeam on pillows..." She pauses, and purrs at the memory.

"Well, I- I think we can safely say that we're not going to get distracted like- like that!" Elise flushed bright red. "It's not- it'll be that- I mean, that is- I think we can focus long enough on the task at hand! I mean, we do have an apartment for- that sort of thing!" Just- uh- don't think too hard about a certain moment on that blimp, that was- circumstances- "Right now I'm looking out for his safety, not planning on finding a hidden corner to- to make out in!" If anything, she turned even redder.

"Do you not trust me?" Xiao rhetorically stated, "Besides, if you and him were together you would be to focused on the other lower your awareness of your surroundings. You should instead be using that determination to get inside to meet back up."

"Of course I trust you. You flew me up into that blimp, didn't you? I'll be forever grateful, for that.... But what we'd be worried about was the other's safety. I'd think that would heighten our awareness of surroundings. It was always that way with my parents, anyway."
