Not bad. *Subtly begins to radiate a bit of energy to help restore Ellen in a manner that is mostly natural while making a mental note to find a way to help her with that issue in the future.*

Ellen: ...Could've been better. ...I'm not normally so blunt in my assessments, but that stunk for a first attempt. *stares at the sheet she was using, going over some things in her mind*

I suppose that is true but given this is your first time to try this particular trick it wasn't bad at all. I've seen several people take more tries to do this.

Ellen: *holds up the sheet, which stays stiff a few extra seconds before collapsing again* ...I can add something else to my evening routine, it looks like... *tries again; again, a few seconds longer*

Don't push yourself too much right away. I wouldn't want you to tucker yourself out this early in the night after all. Let me know when you want to take a break and we can do something else more relaxing.

Ellen: *tries one more time, then lowers the paper* ...I guess I could stand to do something else. What do you have in mind, godpapa? *wipes her forehead*

Perhaps a bit of entertainment for the evening. We could either watch something or step into my library here in the house to read up on whatever suits our fancy. I also think you might find it interesting to possibly visit one of the workstations in the house and observe how to create some items or other. One never knows how handy it might be to have a bit of alchemical or the like knowledge at any given moment.

Ellen: *thinks* ... ...Workstation, then something to watch.

Alright. What should we work on eh? Defensive items, offensive items or something else entirely? *He begins to lead Ellen out of the dining room and on toward one of the work rooms in the house.*

Ellen: ...Defensive, I guess.

Alright. What kind of jewelry do you prefer? Armlet, bracelet, earrings, or the like? We'll work on making something defensive for you that matches your personal style.

Ellen: ...A necklace, I suppose. I think it would be easier to hide.

[Raleigh]

Righto. Now lets get together some material eh? I don't think you are allergic to any metals by any chance? I know some people who react badly to nickle or copper... I forget which. *Picks out a stone that looks quite a bit like the birth stone for Ellen and some vials of this or that.*

Ellen: ...None that I'm aware of. I didn't inherit Mom's weakness to iron, so I'm safe on that score. ... *looks at the birthstone questioningly* ... ...?

A bit of protection. If you had a different one it would have been the one keyed to you. There is a bit of magic to alchemy after all. Consider this similar to using a pseudonym when traveling in strange lands with unfamiliar magic as a form of precautionary protection. It'll also keep this from working for others unless they happen to have the same stone as you at least.
