"Squeak squeak..."
At Drakecorp, the nanobot hive begins breaking down the metal- but seems to take an inordinately longer period of time, compared to usual. The material is incredibly tough, and given the general lack of imperfections in the cast of the metal in the pieces that Raleigh collected, analysis shows that the forging process took place at an atomic scale. At the same time, however, there is an unmistakable metaphysical aspect to the metal, as wails of sorrow emit from the metal as it's slowly picked apart. This continues on the entire time it's taken apart. Once the process is complete, the metal seems to resemble carbon steel- but there's an aspect of dark matter which seems to be affecting the properties. It's like every piece of the metal is a black box, in and off itself, as some manner of supernatural techniques went into the forging of the black metal. Given the information from the meeting so far, it's likely 'Soulsteel.'
On the opposite side of the world, Corvus and his brothers continue to engage the black plague in their pitched battle. Through the combined efforts of stupid, fake war and death manage to strip the assault mech of it's shielding, which of course leaves it more vulnerable to the sustained attacks from others. Eventually, this mech falls too, and in good time, as Corvus marches forward, full of wrath and wreathed in terror. The soldiers seem to hesitate as he continues to march forth, unconcerned with their efforts- but those able to wield magicks begin hurling cold blue fire, and void like lightning at him. The swarming mass of the plague continues to press in, regardless, as those outside Corvus' radius of terror seem all too eager to rip and tear.
Miles from the CTC camp, Raleigh's manifestation with the ghost and zombie notices the ghost immediately begins wailing as it's form darkens. The zombie, meanwhile, groans dumbly while whatever flesh it has left seems to mineralize into obsidian, and it's eye sockets gain a baleful red glow- he can already since his control over them is gone- threads of magic are pouring into both, from somewhere distant. But before he can trace them to a fixed location (further east, is the general direction), the link cuts, and the undead pair give a shriek and launch at Raleigh ferociously.
On solid earth now, Bones gets a good look at the wasteland that is the dark continent from the CTC's camp. The air here is noticeably cooler than what the season would indicate for this part of the world, but it doesn't seem particularly putrid or difficult to breath. And it's not eating him alive, which is always a good sign. Regardless, the absence of any life outside the camp is disturbing, and the bare bones, and dead trees here and there mean that at one point, this place was brimming with life. And yet, for all of it to perish and be in this state... Leaves a lot to think about, though Doc is probably getting most of the info as to how it's happened now. Still, there seems to be some ruins in the distance, which could be a great chance to get a better picture as to what happened.
ELSEWHERE...
The operations room continues in a flurry of activity, the shadow resting upon the command throne watches with pale blue eyes, before a flashing indicator goes off on the far Eastern map of the dark continent.
"Well?"
A monotone replies from a nearby analyst.
"Division Seven has engaged Corvus, Shadow, and Shade with their respective forces. The majority of their forces seem to be in retreat, though they did knock out our primary assault walkers stationed in that area. Corvus however is accelerating his collection of energy, possibly for a final attack." A pause. "Should be dispatch Division Twelve to finish them off?"
The shadow rests a hand on a panel, scrolling through data before laughing with a low cackle.
"No, see what the brothers do for now. Fall back and monitor their movements, they may reveal where the Sword has hidden herself."
"Affirmative."
The shadow resumes his cackle, as troop indicators readjust themselves with real time movements. In the CTC camp, a new indicator in green flashes, but brings forth no alarms or other warnings. A distance away on the map, an orange symbol seems to be pasted where the Steel Talons' ship crashed into a volcano, with warning indicators flashing around it for the lava flow and seismic disruptions. Several red indicators, labeled 'Nine', 'Twelve', and 'Eight' are slowly approaching the crash site. Another indicator, also seems to be floating northeast of the CTC camp, but is dimmed, as though it were inactive. So the operations of the dark ones are carried out with precision and ruthlessness.
"Our lord will pleased with what the net has caught."
