Circe's Manor

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *tosses the now-recovered rings aside* ...Come on in. The water's temperate.

*Her playing cards, which were sitting somewhere out of sight, briefly form the number '80' in mid-air for emphasis.*

[Circe]

*Circe looks at the cards as she climbs in.* Nice trick.

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *dismisses the cards* ...Thank you. Practicing like that helps to exercise my mind. *slowly drifts in the direction of the diving board*

[Circe]

Ah... You're welcome, then.

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *out of the pool, onto the board* ...Mm. You may want to move back a few feet; this might cause a bit of a splash.

[Circe]

Ah, right... *Circe swims back a bit.*

[AmbushCat]

*Ellen takes a few deep breaths and goes through all the preparatory motions, then jumps forward. She folds up her body into a ball the best that she can, but she isn't very successful before she hits the water. True to her word, the resulting splash gets some good distance.*

[Circe]

Nice on... I guess.

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *surfaces, shaking her head free of water* ...It was terrible for a first try. I'm going to have to practice it some more.

[Circe]

Oh. Well... You can practice here, right?

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *returns to the diving board as she speaks* ...Not like I have much choice. Mom and Dad won't have one installed in our yard, and I'm not allowed to use the one at the local high school without the swim team's coach present.

[Circe]

Ah. That must be inconvenient.

[AmbushCat]

Ellen: *nods agreeably* ...I can't wait to grow up.

*Ellen reattempts her previous dive, but again doesn't manage to roll herself up all the way. Another impressive splash occurs, nudging any objects floating in the pool further away from the impact point.*

[Circe]

If you want, I'm sure I could hook you up with an age acceleration potion...

*Ellen starts to climb out again, but pauses. Huh... is that what her face looks like when she's of two minds on a subject?*
... ...I don't know.
