A Search for Food

(That works.)

*It's not long before Ookalf and Jade find the place - a simple-looking diner with a sign with a sign out front proclaiming its name as "Dewey's".* I'm guessing that's it.

"Oh, good." Jade sniffs the air a few times on the way inside. "It certainly smells good."

[Ookalf]

Mm, yeah. Let's go check it out! *Ookalf leads Jade inside, where the restaurant continues to look fairly ordinary - nothing special to really talk about here. An employee stationed at the entrance greets them.*

Hi, welcome to Dewey's! Table for two?

"Yes, please," says Jade, her tail starting to wag again in a probably-unintentionally cute gesture.

[Ookalf]

Yeah, that's right.

All right! If you'll just come with me, I'll get you seated. *The employee smiles at Jade's tail as she leads her and Ookalf to a table and gives them their menus.* I'll give you two a moment look that over and decide what you want.

Jade picks up the menu and scans over it, her eyes darting around from word to word. At the same time: "I overheard someone talking while we were walking by them. You are...some kind of superhero?"

[Ookalf]

*Jade sees a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and various other meat products.* Heh, basically. I'm called Kamen Rider Ookalf... That name probably doesn't mean much to you, though, does it?

[Whatevr89532]

"I don't know the specifics, but it sounds like you're helping people. That's good enough for me." After a brief pause, she says: "My anklet is actually storage for a power suit. Maybe I could use it help you sometimes."

[Ookalf]

Wow, really? That sounds cool! Maybe we can try that out once we're done eating.

[Whatevr89532]

"Sure," she nods, looking mildly pleased. "I could at least show you what it looks like." She sets down her menu, looking up. "...I know what I want to order, whenever you're ready."

[Ookalf]

Yeah, I'm good. *Ookalf calls the waitress back to their table.* I think we're ready to order. I'll have the venison burger with fries and a Coke.

*The waitress takes this all down, then looks to Jade.* And what will you have?

"Sweet tea. Venison burger with bacon, hold the cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles, with fries please."

[Ookalf]

All right, that'll be out just a moment! *The waitress finishes taking down Jade's order and goes off to the kitchen.*

So, you want to talk about anything else while we wait?

"Well, I don't have a place to stay yet. I don't really want to impose on you for that, but...I think I can get something together for myself if you'll allow me to borrow a quarter." Jade nods as if confirming this in her head. "If a man can turn a red paperclip into a small house then I should be able to turn a quarter into something more than sufficient."

[Ookalf]

Really, just a quarter? If you say so... *Ookalf fishes a quarter out of his pocket and hands it to Jade.*
