Whyte takes a longer sip than she expected, her body remembering that she just yelled in fear of falling suddenly from getting teleported up a great height a relative few minutes ago. "I see...I heard of a Haunter getting into the PFL with a humanoid illusion recently, bet he'd like tips on making it physical like that." After a second or so, she remembers a question that came up a moment ago. "Not to pry or anything, but I am curious how you know Callista..."

((The Haunter I'm referring to is Devin from surprise quartet))

*The oven beeps as Whyte speaks, and Amber gets up to retrieve some oven mitts. When Whyte makes her inquiry, Amber turns to her and smiles.*

Oh, that's easy. She's my boss. *works to get a casserole out of the oven, switching it off as she does so* Don't know if you've heard anything about that Infinite Defense group that pops in now and then, but she used to be their leader, and I was one of her agents. She and I both dropped out of the game for different reasons: I because I got married, and she because she couldn't handle all the stress.

Whyte sniffs the air a bit in curiosity. "Oh yeah, infinite sounds like a lot of defense to manage. I wondered why someone that powerful didn't just start on top tier right away, but if this is supposed to be 'retirement' then I guess it makes sense."

Heh. Try not to think too much about the name. Calli just picked it because it sounded cool. *turns off to the side* Swift, the tuna casserole's ready! *turns to Whyte, clears her throat* Anyway, they used to be called "Super-Cats' Infinite Defense", but we were told the acronym had some bad connotations---

*Eebon appears out of thin air at this point... landing right in the sink, getting some water on the back of Amber's head and neck.*

---so they had to shorten it a bit. (Eebon: Aagh! What the---?!) It sounds better this way, anyhow. *cleans herself off with a napkin* without turning around* Eebon, go get washed up, please. We have company.

*The adolescent felinoid chuckles nervously, but nods and hustles off.*

Whyte watches all this with an interested look. "I guess...slightly inconvenient ways of teleporting around runs in your family?"

To say the least. A large chunk of Kittenoans such as Eebon have special abilities brought on by genetic mutations, and the ability to teleport across universes happens to be hers. *throws away the napkin she was using* But you'll notice that her aim leaves a lot to be desired. As for myself, teleportation's part of my standard power-set. When I'm not human, I mean.

Of my kids, Ellen's the only one who can't teleport on her own power. Echo's got his shadow-port, Ezekiel can warp between the last three major locations he's been at... *sweatdrops* ...and the less said about Elk, the better.

"As long as it's not deadly, even inaccurate teleportation still seems really convenient to have. Hmn, Elllk..." Whyte says the name with a tone of vague familiarity. "Oh, yeah. There was a match where the vendor guys ran out of Pepsi and someone in a weird costume got around security somehow just to start throwing Pepsi at people in the audience from the ringside. At the time nobody was sure whether it was some kind of promotional stunt or something, and the officials made some angry calls to the suppliers, who were really confused until they got a description of the person doing it. Then they said, 'ohhh, it's Elk again'."

*groans, facepalming* I remember that one. I thought about joining the PFL if only to make sure he doesn't do that again, because I do not want him to grow up thinking he can do that for the rest of his life. The fact that Callista's only encouraging him isn't helping matters. *mutters to herself about soda pop-guzzling mutants*

*Swift enters the kitchen at this point, hair neatly combed, face washed and the rings around his ears glowing a little. He makes a beeline for the chair nearest to Whyte and sits down there, smiling.*

Swift: Though you have the admit that seeing the competitors' reactions was good for a laugh or two.

Whyte smiles in Swift's direction, along with the slightly more subtle signal of her tail wagging slightly faster. "If one of them had been unfazed they'd have gotten a huge advantage. That kind of thing is why I go walking or..well, more often running around town. From what I've seen of Muffinville, the PFL's practically a shelter of order and sanity."

*gets to work serving the casserole and making sure the table is properly set* In which case, think I'm beginning to understand why Calli loves the League so much. The place has done wonders for her mood. Anyway, dinner's served; let me know what you think, okay?

Swift: *whispers to Whyte* Chew carefully. She tries, but her husband's the family cook, not her.

*vein twitches* Someday soon, Swift, I will liquify Spelon Berries and put them in your fruit punch.

*Swift chuckles nervously, sweatdropping.*

Whyte giggles softly in reply to that scene but pops about a regular-sized forkful of casserole in her mouth anyway. It at least smells good, and stereotypical 'lethal chef' food usually doesn't even look edible to begin with.

*The food is tolerable, as far as things go. There are traces of cream-of-mushroom soup and a bit of pepper, which might appeal to some. The ends of a few of the noodles are a little bit on the crunchy side, though the tuna chunks themselves are delicious.*

*Swift and Amber help themselves to their own servings. The Umbreon-boy grimaces a little when he tastes the pepper, but continues to eat anyway out of respect for his trainer.*

Whyte smiles, seeming to at least enjoy it to a reasonable degree. "Hey, it's not too bad. The fish is right for sure."

*Eebon walks in, having changed into a cleaner outfit and groomed herself enough to look presentable, and serves herself some dinner. Meanwhile, Amber's face warms up a little.*

I'll take that as a compliment. Need anything else?

"I should be good," Whyte nods, and notices the other person coming in. "Hi again..um..Eebon?"
