The problem with cute is I think many things try to pull it off, and you can see that they are supposed to look cute, but they don't really inspire that "Awwww!" feeling. A kitten at the edge of a table afraid to jump off staring at you with pleading eyes and mewling to be let down is certainly cute, but your typical smiling young anime girl doesn't usually pull it off.
Also, I think I should get lost instead, since I'm not getting a new avatar I should vamoose, hand 'im over!
