The potion Sarrio chose tastes strongly of sharp cheese. Sure enough, to the magically sensitive its first and most obvious effect is an exponentially mounting boost in magical energy in an effort to produce an overflow.
Sarrio's spell probably isn't strongly affected if she's a halfway competent magic-user, but the potion is "trying" to turn her into a mouse-girl with size changing powers or something.
