Looking for Blaze

[Feng]

"The puzzler here is the ceremony itself. Sorcerers are like alchemist, their rituals and spells hidden underneath layer after layer of riddles. While I have confirmed that we have indeed found the proper regents for the ritual, the exact details over the ritual are fuzzy. The motions itself are extremely complicated. I'm not sure if it is a ceremony or some form of dance..." =.=;;

Bones hands the book over to Blaze. "You've experienced the paranormal countless times before, yes? Perhaps this might make some sense?"

[Blaze]

Blaze puts down her mug and accepts the book.

"Sure, a fresh set of eyes might help."

She looks at the diagrams carefully.

[Feng]

The book displays a circle comprised of numerous sigils, the center of which lies a blue flame! Outside the circle lie five smaller circles, each with a listed name in the ancient Chibi tongue. In the center of the diagram is a blue flame that is chained to the center.

Bone's notes attempt to translate some of the text. In particular Blaze will see that the smaller circles each has a word associated with them associated as thus:

Blood

Metabolism

Breath

Mind


Beneath is an incantation with further cliff notes allotted to provide an accurate pronunciation.

[Blaze]

Blaze looks at the flame, the words in the circles around the centre circle and frowns.

"Mrmm... say Bones, can Chibi guardians have a physical form in this realm?"

[Feng]

"Usually no. Unless the Guardian can find a host to interact in the physical realm they are unable to produce a corporal form. They can appear as a colored orb, but without a hosting body they are bodiless.

"The one exception to this rule would be Pepper. Due to some incident in the past she found herself trapped in the physical realm with the body of a young girl. Details are fuzzy although a report by the Chibiwanbanshu reports a Caprice being involved in some fashion."

[Blaze]

"Huh... I see..."

Blaze looks at the translations again.

"I dunno... this kinda feels like a rebirthing or ressurection ceremony. All of these are things associated with having a body..."

[Feng]

"Yes I have reached the same conclusion however the items mentioned in the circles are most concerning. What puzzles me is that while they call for various part of the living flesh, they seem very unlikely choices for sacrifice. Unlike some other religions, the Chibi Guardians do not thirst for blood or flesh. You might here tale of some corrupted guardians do so in imitation of foreign deities, but this is a rare exception..."

[Blaze]

Blaze hands the book back and frowns.

"Maybe Pepper has become corrupted herself?"

[Feng]

"Of course she's corrupted. That's why we're doing an intervention. But that's not the point. The real topic of interest here is why substances like blood and bones are required for a ceremony involving cleansing?"

[Blaze]

"... good question."

Blaze thinks hard, a frown appearing on her face.

"... I have no clue."

[Feng]

"Hmmm...." grumbles Bones, brow furrowed with frustration. "I'm beginning to suspect that we are way over our head here...."

*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*

There is a large rapping noise at the door of the safe house!

.... Who could that possibly be?

[Blaze]

"Oh bloody hell, how did they find us?"

Blaze quickly yet quietly goes to the light switch and turns it off.

[Feng]

Silence...

And then more tapping. It almost sounds like a code!

[Blaze]

Blaze's eyes widen as the tapping repeats itself in a pattern

"Is that Morse code? Or something else? Bones, you recognize it?"

[Feng]

"If I'm not mistaken, and I seldom am, I believe its an outdated code used by members of the Chibiwanbanshu. It's like Morse Code, Investigator, only it factors in the Chibi alphabet as well. Typically only veteran members of the agency would be familiar with it..."
