Light Shines Brightest in the Deepest Darkness

The orb flashes and turns red, and a fire moves up the Keyblade from the handle seeming in response, burning it into the shape of the Bond of Flame. She then twirls the blade and readies it in a backhanded position, waiting for an enemy to make the first move.

The orb flashes and turns red, and a fire moves up the Keyblade from the handle seeming in response, burning it into the shape of the Bond of Flame. She then twirls the blade and readies it in a backhanded position, waiting for an enemy to make the first move.

As the Keyblade Wielder readies themself, there's the flash from a camera! With a flutter of wings, Utsuko the news reporter is on the scene!

"Breaking news! Mysterious traveller from another world arrives at the same time as mysterious shadow creatures start attacking innocents! Is there a connection?" he says breathlessly, taking as many pictures as possible!

The electric shocks barely seem to phase the shadowy creatures. They turn to glance at the drones when they do it before continuing on their way.

As the drones prove to be ineffective, the CTC starts moving in troops into Muffinville! Soldiers deploy from armored vehicles, establishing emergency barricades in the hope of holding off the increasing numbers of shadowy beings, while working to evacuate the civilians away to more easily protected areas!

Meanwhile, far away from Muffinville, buried deep under an inconspicuous hill in the countryside, Commander Pleasance and her two aides, Alex and Lily, walk through the metal corridors of the CTC Crisis Center as they proceed towards the command center at its core.

"They're apparently moving faster than originally expected," the commander admits, a frown on her face as she studies the data being fed to her implants.

Alex nods. "R&D has been studying the shifting phase space for a consistent paradigm," he says. "Given the nature of the entities, they feel they may have identified a potential source for them." He taps a few times on his datapad, transmitting the acquired data over to his commander, who pauses momentarily to allow the information to filter through her commlink.

Pleasance's eyes narrow as she studies the information briefly. "If this is true... then it may be a bigger problem than we expected. Have all facilities with static CRAVEN systems prepare them, and make certain that Eva gets this!" she orders, before continuing her march down the corridor -- faster than before.

[Ms Chieve]

Ms Chieve's shield starts to buckle under the onslaught of heartless swarming at her. Finally as it starts to colapse, she uses the failsafe protocol of her scan device. A high pitched sonic rises in resonance to the ultra hi frequency range, then pulses a EM pulse with a extremely high blast of light for 30 seconds, but not before her protection field completely fails, leaving her exposed for a split second under the horde...

Kazuya is a little shocked by the catgirls actions, "Uh... what are you doing?" he said, feeling a little dumb to be speaking to his shadow.

[Raleigh]

Awww, it ran away. I can never seem to keep a test subject and I don't know why. I haven't even done my Washu impression yet. That does remind me though. *Two small robotic puppets pop up on his shoulders.* You two look for wherever there is another mass of these things. I might have something new to play with for the moment. *The two things nod and float off to find something interesting.*

Yuu gives off a shout as he falls through the void, and blinks a little as he lands on the glass platform. He takes a moment to examine things and sees the pictures. "What... hey! Where am I! I want out of here!"

Suddenly, a bright light appears over Yuu's head. However, it seems to be completely out of reach.

Will you grab hold of the light and make it your own?...

Then the platform starts to tip and sink like a flooding ship, slowly sinking into the black void.

The Shadows circle around the Keyblade weilder before lunging simultaneously, slashing with their claws!

As the drones prove to be ineffective, the CTC starts moving in troops into Muffinville! Before the Crisis Center is filled with the shadows, coming out of nowhere! They are accompanied by a new kind that seems to be more aggressive as it lunges for Pleasence the moment it appears!

Before something slices through them, destroying them!

"Are you all right miss?" a voice asks.

Kazuya is a little shocked by the catgirls actions, "Uh... what are you doing?" he said, feeling a little dumb to be speaking to his shadow.

The catgirl is gone, completely merged with Kazuya's shadow! Though he can feel her presence somehow...

The two puppet thingys stumble across a group of shadows chasing a crowd of fleeing NPCs!

The woman jumps forward, out of range of those behind her, and simultaneously unleashes a rapid series of slashes, which burn enemies as if there was an invisible cloak of fire surrounding the Keyblade. She whirls around afterward, keeping the momentum from the last hit of the combo and using it to throw the weapon in a Strike-Raid fashion. Rather than just standing there, she pulls a magnum from a somewhat concealed pocket in the skirt, and shoots at any survivors. Rather than bullets, the magnum shoots a compact equivalent of firaga spells.

Somehow she manages to talk a little bit while doing this, responding to Utsuko. "Connection? Sure--they're the bad guys--and I'm the one who hunts them."

From the shadows, a figure leaps out, striking the shadowy figures around him with his stick and kicks. When he'd cleared enough space, Light stopped to examine the scene.

Suddenly, a bright light appears over Yuu's head. However, it seems to be completely out of reach.

Will you grab hold of the light and make it your own?...

Then the platform starts to tip and sink like a flooding ship, slowly sinking into the black void.

"That's the stupidest question I've ever heard!" Yuu let out as he wobbled on the sinking platform. "If you think I'm going to jump into that dark crap, then you're crazy." He clicks his shoes together and activates some springs that sends him towards the light!

Somehow she manages to talk a little bit while doing this, responding to Utsuko. "Connection? Sure--they're the bad guys--and I'm the one who hunts them."

Utsuko hovers above the fray, and continues to take pictures of the woman as she fights with the shadowy figures! "You hunt these things? So... you're like one of those Predators, right? Hunting things for sport, the thrill of the challenge!" She quickly jots down some notes, looking excited. "But what about the innocents that are killed in your path? Do you ever feel any remorse for your deeds?"

Having expected a killing blow, Ms Chieve looks towards the voice in shocked surprise..."who?" is all she can say, not knowing what to expect...

In the darkened office of a subspace fold, the once grinning face stops as a thoughtful frown replaces it..."Hmmm, seems there are more players than I calculated. Too bad about Ms Chieve, I so looked forward to activating the protocol. Well there may yet be a chance...hehe"

Raleigh's voice can be heard through them though.* Mass Shadow Bind. *Bolts of energy spear out from the spinning automatons and begin to head for the shadows intent on binding them in place. The two puppets get close enough to each other to the point it looks like they will crash when suddenly in their place Raleigh is spinning and finally stops to look down at the handiwork.* So let us see what we caught today.

Kazuya sighs, "What the heck was that about..." he said. He decided to go explore town and look for the source of the disturbance.

The Shadows are slashed and burned, but as is typical of them, more rise up to slash at the Keyblade Weilder!

"Oh! Hello Light." Jean says with a smile.

As soon as he grabs it...

He's back in Muffinville! The girls who attacked him leap back, eyeing him warily.

The shadows struggle against the bindings! Some try to warp away!
